The tone is spot on...Myself and Mike Caswell spent quite a while nailing it..bobbob53629..easy to comment from behind your computer buddy...so come on if its so terrible...let see what you got?...I am sure everyone is dying to see it played better!!!...Jamie H...the guy in the video...
The tone you achieved here is quite startlingly accurate.
I've heard the master tapes of Bohemian Rhapsody, and Brian Mays guitar solo ( but especially some of the rhythm Guitar parts) sound nothing like the tone we hear/imagine in our heads.
The same goes for every classic recording we could possible think of ( Van Halens "Beat it" master track sounds almost alien compared to the mixed recording).
@lukessummerguitar tha'ts definitely right bro ;)...same happens, with other artists (for example) in dani california's master track and afterlife's master track (RHCP, A7X respectly) it does sounds good, but not like the actual recording,
in "afterlife"'s master track the distorsion sounds like it has a lot of treble, a way to much distorsion (like fuzz)..in "dani" the bridge part sounds as if the guitar has chorus when it has flanger... sorry my english and for wrote too much
@jhmusicman man you nailed the tone and the solo itself, it sounds better than the studio version :)...btw i've learned so many songs from you, thank you very much for that!!
@fishnpeas Have you taken a close listen to the tone of your singing? Now THAT is atrocious! Aside from the fact that you are a 19 year old dope who doesn't get the significance of the huge influence Page & Zeppelin had on music... while they were creating a whole new genre and approach. Yea and they even played mellow, soft acoustic music too. Dummy. So much for YOUR opinion.
Everyone has your own opinions and just because you like Zepp alot doesn't mean you can go around bashing others.
Maybe you are the one who doesn't get the significance of Page.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. If i dont like it, i don't and if i do, i do. Its simple. Just like i don't like the tone you're speaking to fishnpeas.
The mannerism of your speech depicts that you are alot older than 19 and if you are so, act your age.
Does the lesson include how to get the right tone for the track being taught? (i.e. pedals used, pedal and amp settings, etc.) That, to me, is important.
i love those guitars, evh types especially, i think there great ive played a few, dont know all about em....seem mistyrious to me in a way that i like
@Crazysockmonkeys Hi there - when refering to what being played jamie will say both the number fret and the note his playing along with what string he is playing it on. Hope that helps
@nextbestguitarist uhh dude what do you mean??? i don't reckonize any van halen licks in that solo im sure he did somewhat but not to an extent like eric clapton or the homie ace frehely (eddie stole the intro to eruption from him) i saw a solo he did where he pretty mmuch played every same note and ended it with the same exact notes before the chords promise)

for the people agreeing with the highest rated comment:
the tone is dead on; when page played the solo he used to push the wah pedal all the way forward and keep it there to get that crazy "treblish" sound
