What would happen if i were to remove the coils and add thicker coil wires?

@3gd16 THICKER COIL WIRES WOULD GIVE YOU MORE AMPS AND LESS VOLTAGE. THUS THE PROP SIZE MIGHT HAVE TO BE RECALCULATED. YOU CAN GET UP TO 400 WATTS THAT WAY. PAKSCIENCECLUB DID THEIRS THAT WAY BUT SHOWED NO BENCH WORK. JUST THE TEST RUN. LEAVING THE ORIGINAL WIRE, AND JUST SPLITTING THE COILS AND CONNECTING IN SERIES CAN DO THE SAME. JUST TRICKY, BUT LESS WORK AND PATIENCE. I SPLIT THE COILS BY 2, AND GOT 250 WATTS ON THE HARBOR BREEZE MODEL.

@kevykev38 99% OF THEM DO COME APART THE SAME WAY. IN FACT AFTER 5 YEARS I HAVE ONLY FOUND 3 THAT WERE OLD ENOUGH FOR OIL BATH BEARINGS, AND A FEW FAN BELT ONES ALSO. THEY ARE PRETTY INTERESTING TO SAY THE LEAST. I HOPE YOU ENJOY THE SERIES. OH AND I ACTUALY FOUND ONE THAT HAS AN ARMATEUR INSIDE THE STATOR. PRETTY COOL MODEL.

THE WIRING SYSTEM IS STILL 2 PHASE POWER. THE CAPACITORS MAKE THE PHASE SHIFT OF 90 DEGREES FOR THE SECOND COIL SET. EITHER WAY. WE USE THEM FOR POWER GENERATION OR JUST A COOL WEEKEND PROJECT. HOPE YOU ENJOY.

Hey Muddy, I have been working on a larger alternator and have a question that you may be able to answer. LOL, I am using 2x1x.5 neo's but have read that when you wind your coils, the coils should not exceed the width of the magnet. If your coils were a little larger could you use ferrite or samarian magnets that are a little larger for a base or in conjunction with the smaller neo magnet, I know this is not exactly connected to your video production gallery, but I trust your insight.

THE SMALLER DIAMETER MAGNETS WE USE GO SIDE BY SIDE SO THE CURVE DOESNT LEAVE A GAP UNDER THE MIDDLE OF THE MAGNETS. Great video I've got a 3 amp ceiling fan motor. I'm going to convert using a iron-steel based magnet.I don't expect this to be a real power house... but I'm considering building a 1kw pma stater,,,, if all things were equal..would there be any output differance between say a n35 ,n42 ,n50 -n52...at what point does the cost out way the gain?...... again great videos... keep expiring the people!! :)

n-42 to 50 is a good point on these small units. On the larger units that produce 500 or better i'de use the best your pocket allows. The best part of the wind is , when the load is on the alternator it slows down a little. the wind keeps a constant pressure or torque on the rotation of the alternator. the speed it turns in a certain wind speed is inversely proporsionate to the load.

Thats as long as the wind is trying to spin the prop faster than the rpms that produce the battery bank voltage

YES! you will need a ceiling fan from a country that uses 240 volts as a household current. In the United States we use 120 volts. so mine can do 120 and ive seen 180.

If I re-arrange the diodes I can double the voltage as well.

If you try a higher voltage bulb, it will light.

I know it sounds backwards but it will. A higher voltage bulb has more resistance for the same watts. thus it takes less amps. this machine is low amp and high voltage. and it can still put out at least 100 watts. put 2 120 bulbs in series.

I never bought any of mine. i just go to where they might be undoing a big crate or getting big shipments in. they are real happy to let you have it. but always ask first. the real fat stuff is the stuff they use to tie trailer homes down with.

awe thats just the baby food. the meat is in the next one. glad you liked it. i used my rectifier and built the other one inthe next vid. but today we get the ones that we will use. plus the stainless bolts and try taping and carving the rest of the blades.

what's strainge is in series i hand cranked out 90 v open and 3/4 amp shorted. and in parallel i hand cranked 75 volts and 1.2 amps and it seemed to crank easier. so parallel is probably best for this one. i know the blades will go faster.

I HAVENT QUITE FINNISHED WITH IT YET. the older models were built with thicker wires and make the best ones. the new one i made , i only used 1 set of mags and hooked the coils up in parallel. hand cranking i got it up to 70 volts and shorted i got it up to 1 1/2 amps. but the blades will go much faster when finnished. hand cranking into a 12vdc battery i got 1 amp. thats grate.i also worked with ceiling fan motor .I changed all coils.and used 18 gauge wire.tottle 20 coil ,then i got 20 volt .and 6 amps,

in shrt circuit amps approximately 10 Amps.
