Three things to say one bandi was my fucking childhood and it scares the crap out of me that a co. That big can go under. Secondly prices get so fricking high because unfortunately they know they aren't gonna sell as much as they would without things like illegal streams and downloads an third piracy isnt that hard to avoid crunchyroll , hulu legal streams that re so easy to use man up stop nothing about the adds that's one of the ways you can support your fandom
This sucks man! Bandai was my favorite company because of Haruhi Suzumiya i got back into buying anime again and i had stopped watching anime for a couple of years after Toonami was cancelled i saw Haruhi and thought i'd check out some more and then i watched Cowboy Bebop and today i like a ton of different anime so it just really sucks and being a collector not having that new series to look forward to hurts the fans as well!
I don't think that the fault is entirely on piracy... there are people who speak fluent english but don't live in the US or anywhere near there. and they don't sell much anime. its hard to come by, especially if you want it in english. some people don't have the option of buying DVDs because of location. Sure theres Amazon, but you need a credit card for that. Most kids don't have that and most parents aren't supportive enough about the child's love for anime to pay money for it.
I think people pirate because they're too lazy to buy the DVDs. The internet is just there, at their home. They have easy access to it, and therefore, some anime fans are just too lazy to go out and BUY the DVDs. Which hurts the industry (especially anime dubs). But with Bandai going out of business, and the same thing happening to other anime companies, this is when those anime fans really need to realize what they're doing. And they need to start supporting the industry now by buying the DVDs.
My opinion on sadly Bandai's shut down is because of the like you said the piracy because after going to most cons even the voice actors told their opinions on this too I mean that's what hurting the anime business at the moment & once again I blame the crappy economy itself still hasn't gotten any better praying those DOUCHEBAG YESMAN in Congress don't aprove the Internet Censorship Bill

@lordenpen9508 I agree, people need to man up and watch the legal stream. Anime is simulcasted now. They need to get with the times.
