    i was thinking headers and exhaust but where after that?

  • ummm wouldnt it be alot easier using a roll stop rather than having a bunch of guys holding your gt tt back? their only like 100 bucks? i dont remember...(roll stop uses only the front brakes not the rear and its activated by a button so around town you can still have all 4 brakes being used)

    Hi! I have a linelock/roll stop. But there is still a change for the car to drift sideways during the burnout. Having a few guys holding the car on the sides keeps it straight. Its important to have nice straight rubber tracks to launch on, on the street.

    Lol, different engine/car combos makes different power. 11.49 is the best time for the car as it is in the video, with 500hp. To go 7's in the 1/4 mile you need a full drag car with 1200hp. There is no way one could go faster then mid/high 10's with my car if traction is good.

  • @nofearmotorsport I agree, I barely put 400 rwhp down with a roots supercharger but I do have a built auto trans, forged motor, and a heavy convertible and I put down 12.4; but like you said it's all a matter of combination. I could use a stock tranny (4r70w) and probably be doing 13's. Nice numbers for stock motor. Turbos seem to much for a street mustang imo but great for a full out drag car. BTW, it looked like you were using Drag Radials. Stay out of the water with those. You dry burnout.

  • @nofearmotorsport the car drifting side ways during a burnout has to do with the rear suspension, all cars are not perfect but you can tune it out, and you will get straighter burnouts and launches

    No this was a GTS. But we have lots of GTRs here. R32, R33, R34s.

  • @Mapp2004 yeah, no it was not a gtr because he was sitting there doing a burnout and gtrs are awd. it is a skyline though.

  • If your open to friendly advice, listen to me. You need to back the power down on the car, and ease your driving skill up. At this point in the vid, you will easily go quicker with a little less. Next you need to do some suspension work and beef up the rear so running slicks isnt going to hurt. I would also make this car auto, with 3.27 gears and a 4000 RPM stall. Use the 98+ 4r70w with lock up so it drives well around town. Just think, you will never get out of the boost, and be consistent.

    Hi! Yeah that setup was not so good. Ran 11.49 at the 1/4 mile with no traction and slow shifts (the Tr3650 does not work so well with 600tq lol).

    I have put a C4 auto with transbrake and all the goodies in it. As well as the Steeda Hardcore drag launch kit with weld in swaybar and so on. Gonna decide on the torque converter as soon as the new engine is done. Will be 32V big boost turbo engine now :)

  • @nofearmotorsport Dont go C4, because the C4 doesnt have lock-up in 2nd or D with a high stall. If you go 4r70w, the trans is a DIRECT bolt in, electronics..all of it. Then you have lock up in all gears and the stall only effects 1st. Next its tunable, with a tuner, shift points, and shift firmness allowing you to tailor your car to the track/street even further. I have a 98 GT pi swap with 4r70w, its awesome! For aconverter only 2 people worth talking to. Alan @ Dirty Dog or Chris @ Circle D.

  • @nofearmotorsport I have been building professionally for 10 years with Mike Murrillos chassis guy, but I also monkey around on Top Fuel Hydro Drag Boat Team which has been high points for 2 years in a row and before that being Pro Mod high points champs for 6 years in a row. I learned both sports from the best. Go 4r70w, talk to Dan @ Silverfox trans and get a DD or Crc D conv. You will never spend another dollar on trans for a WHILE!! Peace!

  • dont see a lot of built 2v's! i love it. i have this car in the same color. and i love the stripes. how much were they? and all i have is a AEM intake and aftermarket flowmaster. what mod should i do next? while keeping the price decent seeing as how im 17. i would want to kenne bell the ol girl instead of TT it...suggestions?

    I saw 13psi boost making 508rwhp. 508 is not that good, but I had to stop there because of the high torque, did not want to trash the stock TR3650.

    I'm rebuilding the car right now. Installing a C4 auto tranny with transbrake. And building a new long block with trickflow heads, custom cams etc. I'm aming at +900rwhp with 60mm turbos.

    Good luck with your build. I would like to see pictures and videos of it. Keep me posted please!

  • fuck those cobalts! i have a hard time believing that a "300hp" cobalt would even be close to breaking into the mid to low 14's let alone a 12.8. i would have to see a vidoe of that before even considering that. i have seen modded ones run. i had a GT with a 3.73 and slight mods. about 285hp on the whls and it was never under 14.2 what would make the drag track any different than the street race vidoes, he had lots of spinning in those.oh..maybe it ws bc he the camera was so far away! idiot!

  • 3.73 gears. My 60ft was 1.99 that run launching from 6500rpms, so belive me it spun. The first run I launched from 3500rpms and almost stalled, 120mph at the finish line. Try that with a Cobalt ;)

    I'm changing gears kinda slow cause I run the stock TR3650 gearbox and I'm tryin to not blow it up.

  • I've been running a stock tr3650 at 665 and over 500 for years.

  • I'd say you need a driver mod, considering a 300hp 4 cylinder cobalt can run 12.8's

  • Thank you captain obvious! As I stated in the video, Im having issues making the car hook of the line. I even wrote that driver mod is needed.

    Please dont compare a mustang to a shitbox like the cobalt. 12.8 is far away from 12.0 even though 12.0 is about 1 sec slower than I should run.
