  • What is that scrapping sound? I am driving a klr650 atm but am planing on buying a nomad later next week. Is that dangerous scrapping parts of the bike on the ground. On my KLR I can lean quite a ways before any thing scraps so that scrapping sound makes me nervous.

  • @Rungaul All heavy cruisers don't have good clearance for leaning. You just have to get used to going through corners less aggressively. One thing that I like about the Nomad is that the boards are spring loaded giving "extra" clearance once they start dragging, you can make some noise before you are actually touching rigid hard parts that could lever the tire up

I use that sound as a gauge that I'm getting very near full lean. If you don't hear the noise, there was more lean left. Love Nomads

  • Really good riding!!

  • BigRick, before I went to school I was a heavy equipment operator and drove a big rig. I credit that driving for helping me see what's going on way down the road, before it becomes a problem.

It was good training for riding.

  • After Six plus Yrs. I got back into riding, dang Hazmat cost got stupid! anyway took my fully dressed GL1100 out to Arden Hills MN and passed the skills exam, it did take lots of practice, wish I'd had a small ride but it can be done, great vid, not many free vids around with big bike riding tip's, newbee's n oldies like me practice never get complacient, I even take tat tip all the way to professional driving large rig's and heavy equiptment!

  • Tight man... well tight!!!

  • I was going to ask if you were a motor cop but then I saw your comments. Yes those guys are some serious riders and can teach a hell of a lot of great low speed riding techniques. Good on you.

  • Is that bike stock? Is the w/s stock? Nice video, thanks for posting.

  • Gotta love that scraping sound.

  • It's nice to see a cruiser rider with a full face helmet. In my opinion, it looks way cooler than any nazi cap. Those bowls are pretty much useless. Cheers!

  • Wow. That's some great riding. I'm a new rider with a Kawi Vulcan 750, and I need to practice the slow stuff a lot more than I have.

  • Hi do you do that,I,m just a beginner and could use all the help i can get.You can never have too much knowledge. thanks

  • Excellent riding. Now that I see the bike can do it, I'll be off to the parking lot.

  • Thanks for the comments.

I'm just a regular guy that has ridden since I was 14 years old. When I got this model of bike, I saw a cop practicing in a parking lot. I stopped and he showed me how to do tight turns.

It was difficult at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's not hard at all.

    Thanks for your compliments.

  • Hey I gotta a question, im a new rider on a vulcan 900. Im 6ft5, 250lbs, I got 220 miles driven so far, and i practice this stuff everyday. But! I cant turn this tight cause my knees actually hit the handle bars. I cant turn my handlebars all the way locked left to right without it hitting, so tight turns are kind of hard. Or am I doing it wrong, and how many feet in a u-turn is good/bad. Measurements I mean. Thanks man

  • When my bars were set too low from the dealer set up, I had to move my knee out to make room from the bars to come all the way in. I have since raised the bars higher and don't have to worry about knee interference.

I can do a 17 and a half foot circle on my Nomad, but I'd say that 20 feet is really good.

  • This looks like the warmup for the annual requal for police motorcycles. A motor officer perhaps?

  • Great riding. Poor floorboards.

  • That's very good! I need to learn how to do that.

  • That made me nervous to WATCH! I don't think I would try figure 8s on mine!

  • Dan, great riding. Let's get together again sometime and do some formation riding.

  • Dan... You're the Man!
