  • Unfortunately, when people read from a script that they haven't memorized and internalized, it often doesn't sound like a natural or authentic discourse and creates a presentation difficult for an audience to focus on. =(

  • Mind boggling and eye opening

  • Dude! Who didn't have a crush on Lyndon?!?! I think he confused A LOT of people. Lol. P.s. Anytown changed my life, as well!!

  • well put...

  • A little too quickly spoken, but otherwise really good.

  • EXCELLENT! How is it that you are so wise and so cute and young all at the same time?

  • ive met the man of my life :) his names lucas and he is super cute :]

  • wow I LOVE this....its so deep :))

  • I had the same experience when I was younger. I was looking at this incredibly fine dude then realised he was a she. I almost threw up, I was so disgusted in myself. This is a reflection on more of myself and my sexuality though then it is a reflection on her.

  • you wrote well in your paper!

    ;)

    Do you have a boyfriend?

  • Excellent paper, Dan. The only criticism I have relates to your oral delivery: Please slow down. You tend to speed-talk, which is fine in your vlogs, but can be off-putting in this context. Put in a few pauses....draw out certain statements...pace y9ourself. Otherwise, as I indicated, great job!

  • Lovely as always, Dan. Gender and sexuality have always been a headache for me and I can relate a lot to what you've said.

  • I especially love the "we're here, we're queer, and we're gonna be your boss someday". xD

Thank you. This comes at exactly the right time for me.

  • sweetie I adore you....you are a very smart guy. many of us have been down this road, please search here on youtube Dan Savage. He has a post on this subject. I really want to say that you think to much, but we all process the way we do.....hugs on ya future boss...lol loved that one,

    Tk

  • oh,,,,,oops so sorry failed to read what this was! But how is the length? Kinda long....lol I know pardon the puns.....

    tk

  • reading reading... fokus!

  • thought-provoking indeed

  • i LOVE the expression flaming liberal. I use that all the time!

  • thank you so much for sharing this. many of the questions you brought up i'm sure many of us, me included, have thought about. it was really interesting to hear your point of view. thanks again for sharing.

by the way, my kitten was watching as well and was very amused. he actaully jumped closer to the screen to see what was going on. :)

  • Dude, you're great. hahahahahahaa. I really like this statement.

I am glad too.... mostly for writing on my wall!!!! THANKS! :)

  • thanks for sharing that expereince, jeje, something like it happened to me recently XD, and just wanted to say how brave you are to speak that on your own school.

  • you are beautiful:-)

  • wow you can read out loud for AGES! I always muddle my words XD

    really interesting though :)

  • lol the very same happened to me :) there was this attractive guy... only he was a she. well never thought I could ever feel attracted to a person of the same sex, well seems like I was wrong...

  • this is inspiring. and you have a nice voice to listen to :)

  • glad you posted this up here :-)

  • you make everything about being gay....

  • That's like complaining that Whatthebuck only talks about Hollywood, or Brentalfloss mostly only talks about video games.

I guess next you'll complain about The Onion only talking and writing about politics and news.

  • it just bugs me that he defines himself as "one of the people who doesnt want to be 'just gay' but all he is is 'gay'"

  • That's exactly the point, people DO make it out like that's your identity. People who actually don't care are always trying to ground you down into some "pill form they can swallow." When you're black, no matter what you do, some people will just always see you as "black" before they see you as "person." That's what it speaks of. It's not "YOUR LIFE isn't all about being gay." It's about how other people are always ignoring what the rest of you is about. They hear "gay" and stop listening.

  • dude, when you're gay everything IS about being gay... duuuuuuh?

  • first off, i am gay. my life is not all about being gay. my life is about whaty i do WHILE i am gay. when youre black your life isnt about being black, when youre white your life isnt ALL ABOUT BEING WHITE. and people who constantly press the issue "oh, hey im a fag and proud, either want to make a difference, or get attention. and i havent seen enough of this guy to know. but he seems to lean towards attention. i.e. youtube videos.

  • *sigh* oooookay, technical, I'm gonna go ahead and explain what I meant, even though you've just shown a very pleasing intellegience and I highly doubt you missed my point at all, instead choosing to ignore it. Everything you do, you do while embracing the fact that you are gay, therefore everything you do is in fact about being gay. Everything a straight person does, is done under the context of their sexuality, therefore everything they do is about being straight. Bi, trans, it's all the same.

  • its not about being gay though, it is about living your life, and embracing your differences while not letting them control you. and next time, don't use words that are too big for you. it makes you sound smart to teachers, and friends, but if someone sees past it you just look silly.

  • *siiiiiigh* always resorting to the 'Don't Words You Don't Understand' jab. Don't tell me what I do and do not understand. I'm a transexual woman and I know who I am, and it doesn't have anything to do with my sexuality, but I'm not arrogant to the way the world works, and to everyone else, my sexuality defines my character. I've just decided that I can both portray my sexuality and my personality honorably without disowning or dissecting any part of myself. You've made your point, goodbye.

  • i understand that i like to sleep with men, that doesnt mean i understand how einstein was so smart while still housing mental retardation, i dont understand alot of things. just because i understand myself doesnt mean im a master at all things vocabulary. and what other people think doesnt make you you. so my only advice is to haul off and kick them in the teeth, and make them regret messing with you =]

  • @Curtisisatiger LMMFAO right, no all that gets you is a night in jail. And that's if you're lucky. XD

  • Why is literally everyone who makes a YT video is accused of "wanting attention" but everyone else too lazy or afraid to do it themselves.

And let's not even try to pretend that wasn't a slight against him. "Lean toward attention?" Newsflash: normally when you have something to say and you're brave enough to say it, you have at least some hope that someone who understand is listening. It's not like he's taping himself getting kicked in the balls. You're part of the problem with that.

  • he taping his opinions online hoping people will watch... he needs to get out and march, or run for an office, and not be bitchy.

  • I'm not sure, but he may already join in the marches for gay rights. If he doesn't , then he should. Also, it takes a certain amount of money and status witihin the community to successfully run for office. Regardless, he's talking about issues that do need to be discussed. You may be right about his intentions. But as long as he keeps discussing issues that are important, his personal motives do not matter to me.

  • lol you actually wrote all this down I see you keep looking down

  • in the description he says that this is a "paper" that he wrote

  • I didn't even look at the description, thanks tho lol

  • Good talk ,one of the many problems with society - especially a society that defines itself by the accumulation of things or materialism is that it extolls this materialism onto the mind - so what we desire becomes what we define ourselves by. Our desires are only a tiny part of mind The problem you had is that rather than just accepting Lyndon as who they are , you saw you attraction as a threat to how you define yourself. We need to move away from such a basic understanding of our psyche.

  • Who is Lyndon

  • This was awesome. :) Brought me one step closer to understanding my very confusing sexual identity. :D

  • ah the penis... lovely :P

  • oh my god your eyes look amazing in this video!

    and great job

  • "And...a penis loving gay man."

You're awesome. ON TO PART DOS. (:

  • Plus, I'm bisexual. I love the penis, but I have also know the pleasures of the va-jay-jay!!!

  • i hate the word vagina....eick.....i have nothing againts it althoug im gay but i still hate the word

  • Pisexual! ROFLMFAO!!!!

That means you're just not into three-somes, you're into 3.14159-somes!

  • GREAT essay on genderism.. It really shows you that just because you are gay doesn't mean you don't discriminate against anymore who is in the LGBT family.

  • well done

  • I haven't watched the second video, which I will soon, but I think you were attracted to what you thoughy lyndon had and once you found out otherwise, your mind couldn't reverse itself. Like you once were I to thought of the street of sexuality to be a very limited one, but I'm going to watch part two now to understand all of this.

  • This is amazing Dan, going to watch part 2 now :)

  • Very well written piece.

  • I liked it. I think class must be defined differently in the US. In the UK you can only be upper class usually if you have a title (like Lord or Earl) or else if you have so much money that you don't need to work and can live off the profits of your estate.

  • wow, this is a really interesting presentation

  • OMG I Need to go to that camp because i need to expand my views on this also

  • I'm sure Lyndon has a penis. It's probably half or a third the size of yours.

  • i've heard of people being attracted to one sex and then suddenly finding an exception, like just one person. it's fascinating how many variations there are to these sorts of feelings.

  • lol...sorry dude!?

  • your a great writer, whats your program in school? When ur presenting this paper you should try and go a little slower (if possible) just cuz a lot of it gets lost you started to get a lot more in the groove by the end of this half. Anyways, awesome writing!

  • i can't wait for part 2! great stuff!

  • This is really good :D

  • If you're attracted maybe you should just try it. I'm sure he'd understand if you just couldn't make it work, it must happen a lot. Otherwise you could ask if he's intrested in becoming transexual rather than transgendered and getting boy-bits. I've heard (not reliably) you can get hydrolic ones - the future is now! :P

  • Powerful writing. I can't wait for part 2! :D

  • Yup! Its a true story and the second part is uploading now :)

  • i see, will keep my comments on the second part :)

  • Wow, some of that thought process is similar to what I'm going through right now. .-. I've been questioning if I'm bi since freshman year, and I'm a junior now. This would probably be a lot easier if my parents and grandmother and, yes, even my little sister didn't act like total homophobes. ._.;

I look forward to hearing the end of this :D It sounds so good!

  • now if there where any answer why we like or love somebody, than i will worship him,her,it...but that is so very well written im sure you will got a+

    xxx

  • sure did!

  • I love your videos and you are a sweetie and cute I love you in blue brings out your eyes

  • well thank you :)

  • Good job! I like it and it brings up many good points! I always like the higher thinking questions! : )

  • Thanks for sharing this Dan!

  • Part 2 is uploading now! I hope you like it :)

  • Can't wait to see it :D

  • =D Dude you gonnna rock that conferance

  • Wooow that's so....... wow

  • It cut off! ;(

Hmmm, I really like this. Most of the time I feel that I could never be attracted to females, but of course, there's always that possibility. Which is why I don't choose to label sexual orientation. It's much too fluid and complex to put into these neat little categories.

  • Its part 1 :)

  • Oh, haha. You should've put that on there. >;|

  • Oh, you did. Did you just add that or was that always there? Lol.

  • @Myfrogsnameisbob haha fluid. o my god that was a terrible joke. just ignore it :p

  • i wanna here the rest

  • sounds like you need mapquest.

  • And now I'm sad waiting for Part 2. It's like waiting for the next book in the harry potter series when this one just released. You want it now or someone will die.

  • wow. this is amazing. best video on youtube.

  • wow, that open up my mind about sexuality, i can't wait for the next part

  • this is so good i can not wait for the rest you have opened up my mind i have so many questions now

  • I think I lost conscienceness at about 4:30 ish, and I was fighting hard to make it that abount of time.

  • Thats fine....

  • "with lots to explore or lots stay far far away from." - That's where I am right now. Wanna stay away for some time, learning a little bit more about myself before learning about others, but I'm definitely not gonna give up!

  • Wow...

  • I wanna hear the rest.

    (:

  • I wish I could have! It was about a 15 minute presentation. The other part is coming :)

  • This a ridiculously rude, and obnoxious comment.

  • definitely didn't mean to be rude, sorry about that. is it not true though?

  • dude,

you sum up my thoughts with this.

i cant wait for the rest. you're my idol.

  • Can't wait for the remaining part(s)! My 2cents: My simplified version of what sexuality means to me is anything that attracts me to another individual. I don't think it always has to be sexual, or even physical. Sometimes I'll for a guy sexy simply because he can make me laugh, or his intelligence, his masculinity, or just how well we get along. I like the way you express your exploration of your own sexuality, and as I said at the top I can't wait for the remaining videos.

  • wow, if ever there was food for thought, that was it

  • Very, very interesting, and good job. :]

  • Ummm.. I need the next part now. Kthx. =]

God, I feel as though I was watching Pokemon. I was cut off in the middle wanting more.

  • This is making me think...can't wait to see the next parts

  • AWESOME!!

  • 5th! haha

  • i've had a dilemma very similar to this a while back - confused me a bit. looking forward to the next part of the video!!

  • excellent job!

  • Good job!
