So cute! I know a man who lives around my town who has a wolf. He found the poor thing after the mother had been killed. 7 years later she's a BEAUTIFUL white wolf. She refuses to believe she isn't one of his chihuahuas though... xD
I wish one of my wolves was that little again.. I have 4 rescued from abusive homes. They end up with me because I am only one in the area with a permit and the area to keep them in where they are safe. Yes, they are very high maintenance but with 28 acres of woodland, pond, heated and cooled place to eat and sleep, and running water all they need is cable
Does anyone know the law about having wolves in ontario, canada? I wouldn't want one, they should be kept in the wild in my opinion >.> This is just purely out of curiousity.
@clamchowder138 I think it is if you have a special licence for it. And then only for wolf-dog hybrids or something along those lines. I dunno if people are allowed too own full blooded wolves as pets outside of zoos or special parks because of their undomisticated background. Stupid, I know. =/ Lol.
@littleaprilroses Stupid that people can't own full blooded wolves, or stupid that people even want to own full blooded wolves?
Because one of those options isn't delusional. Seriously, we selectively bred the aggressiveness out of what would eventually become 'man's best friend' for a reason.
Plus, allowing pet licenses of real wolves is just asking for wolf mills (look up puppy mills - always adopt from shelters) and illegal poaching; the wild populations are small enough already...
@Shiruvi The stupid wasn't meant as a whole-hearted "DAMN the goverment and their animal protection laws! Lets blow something up!" kind of stupid. Just a offhanded "Damn, sometimes laws just stink. I wonder what's on TV..." stupid, lol. I know that wolves deserve to be out in the wild running free and not cooped up in some cramped little doghouse somewhere. =)
Also, if you think you could even hope to control five wolves, try training five huskies, or hell even five akitas. I'd even say try five dogs of any breed. Or even just three.
Stop trying to argue that wolves as pets are a good idea. It's not and you will not win this argument.
@Shiruvi i said nothing about having wolves as PETS. they don't make good PETS, but if they see you as park of their pack, or themselves as part of yours, then they make great companions...IF you aren't stupid enough to walk away when they growl. my mother made that mistake and Junior never listened to her again. and who said anything about CONTROLLING them? i'd TRAIN them, yes, but you CANNOT control a wolf(if you wanna do that, make a robo wolf)
@Shiruvi there is a BIG difference. 'pet' being that you want them around for fun, but as a true companion, they're family, and you'd do ANYTHING to keep them safe, companion is a dog, cat or any other animal that you'd keep around you till the day you die, not give them away when they get old or big. pet is something that you give away when you don't want them anymore. (being forced, and given absolutely no choice, to give them up doesn't count)
@Shiruvi no difference to you maybe, but there are people who do see a difference. you have your views, i have mine, let's just leave it at that and end this pointless argument shall we?
@Shiruvi I do not agree with most of what ShigekiHizashi says but the statement that a wolf dont make good pets but good companions is true, he just got the differences wrong. A wolf is a pet if you own it, its just hard to cope with (ie chewing everything up, very stubborn, hard to train ect) but they make good companions because even though the wolf is high mantenance you still love it and it still loves you. Wolves really shouldnt be kept as pets though and should only have experienced owners
@halfdog42 I see what you mean. :( Well, time for me go huntin'!
Don't worry, I would never want to hurt wolves or other animals, except the most nasty and baddest creatures of all.......... *Whisper* Humans! Bad Humans!
@Pillowpantslol the dog only became a domecsticated subspecies after people took wolves and selectivly breed them for hundreds of years. The same thing happened with all domestic animals. its unfair to call them selffish untrainable or aggressive because there are plenty times their just the opposite. I luv animals to the point im studying to b a vet. if ur gonna make such a strong protest about their well fare keep ur facts straight
Yes it would be nice to have a wolf. but even if it is raised with humans and around humans. it is in their nature to be agressive. just like pitbulls. and I know you can have really sweet pitbulls and other fighting dogs but you can never be to sure what they might do
@eevee734 legally you can with proper paperwork. Some people breed wolves that lost their parents and set them free again, or so I've been told. I dunno if this person does that though.
I would like to buy a baby wolf sometime. I live far enough in Arkansas. But the problem is that I live close to people with chickens, and cows. So that might be a problem. But as I get bigger, I will move somewhere more woodsey with SOME neighbors for company. I am planning to be a horse breeder, or maybe a cat breeder.
This is nauseating. Wolves are NOT dogs-it's ridiculous to compare them at all. The are WILD ANIMALS-and that means they should live in the WILD. They are not domesticated-it takes many generations to do that. Keeping them as pets is selfish; anyone who does so doesn't love wolves at all.
@My18andolder I dont know if you know this but wolves are going extince. And it is our fault. The only way to recover what they have lost is if we help. Raising a wolf in captivity wont nessisaraly domesticate it. Maybe the mother will be domesticated, but those pups spell out a bright future for wolves because they were raised in a safe inviorment but still know how to live in the wild. More wolves are killed every day by selfish people, and if we dont take action they will soon be gone.
awww he/she is so cute!!!! youcan tell its pure wolf by her/his pelt and snout the pups fur is fluffy and a shade of brownish tan and has black tips on its longest furs

Those of you who want these wolves be released... You do understand that the wild is not exactly the safest place for them either, thanks to people like Sarah Palin, right? :x Excellent video btw!!! :D
actually some wolfdog breeds have been created to serve as search and rescue dogs or security dogs by other governments. their senses are better than dogs because they are the original strain. czechoslovakian wolfdog as an example of what governments have attempted to create and succeeded.
@venpia maybe thats because some koreans eat wolves.... its a sad day when a wolf dies so basicaly everydays sad with all this wolf hunting overpopulation nonsence....poor inisent little creatures..... the worst animal of all is human...selfish selfish human....killing wolves for their pelt...terible
@venpia Erm, not extinct. In fact here they have overpopulated some areas and we hunt them to keep the population down. Im sorry they are becoming nonexistent in your area of the world, but wolves are far from extinct. =)
Actually in certain states in the US you can adopt wolves. I've been researching cause I really want one. If there are too many wolves or something happened to 'em you can adopt.
I don't think you can own wolves as pets in Canada or the US, for those asking where to buy them. They're very much undomesticated, and actually protected species in some areas.
WHY would you want a wolf? Let them stay free like they should be. The only purpose you should have a wolf pup for is to breed them! Not as fucking pets!
@EternalTearsICry ohh my ass all we have owned is wolf dogs all our lives and we bred them but they also made the best pets that we could have ever had....its not like they dont get to run around and do what they want. you may know what im talking about but i bet youve never owned one....
To everyone who is complaining about domesticating wolves: where the hell do you think dogs came from!? If she has the correct licences and can give the animal a good life and train it well I have no problem with this, this wolf was bred in captivity, it will never learn to look after itself in the wild so releasing it would be cruel, also a bred population of wolves could really help if their numbers crash in the wild, eg. adds genetic diversity, could breed pups for reintroductions...
@dadeskr I agree your opinion. Sincerely ... But My wolves do not live in harsh. I do my best for my wolves. Um... I live away from people . (ex. deep mountain) Because wolves are afraid of human. Do you know? wolves can not get pregnant in the zoo. (mostly) Because wolves sensitivity.
Thanks for your reply, I was not insinuating in any way that you are cruel to your wolves.
Wolves can breed in captivity, my zoo has pups most years (adorable) but I think all animals prefer to do it in the wild. Maybe something about privacy :P
@dadeskr Personally after seeing a special on tv about dog a and wofl DNA and learning the history of the Malamute breed I think that malamutes are basically just domesticated wolves.
I had a half husky pupie that howled like that -.- she was my... BUPPY OMG I LOVED YOU SANDY!! Wwhhyyyyy

If a bear was attacking my dog, I would shoot the bear.
If a dog was attacking my sheep, I would shoot the dog.
If a person broke into my house and tired to hurt my family I would kill the person.

actually some wolfdog breeds have been created to serve as search and rescue dogs or security dogs by other governments. their senses are better than dogs because they are the original strain. czechoslovakian wolfdog as an example of what governments have attempted to create and succeeded.

@stillsora Sorry. I don't want to make wolfdog. And i want to protect from extinct species. Wolves are become extinct in Korea. (I'm so sad...)
venpia 1 year ago 14
@venpia maybe thats because some koreans eat wolves.... its a sad day when a wolf dies so basicaly everydays sad with all this wolf hunting overpopulation nonsence....poor inisent little creatures..... the worst animal of all is human...selfish selfish human....killing wolves for their pelt...terible
nanowolf97 1 year ago
@venpia Erm, not extinct. In fact here they have overpopulated some areas and we hunt them to keep the population down. Im sorry they are becoming nonexistent in your area of the world, but wolves are far from extinct. =)

@venpia theyre becoming extinct in Korea because of the military and war in south and north Korea

Actually in certain states in the US you can adopt wolves. I've been researching cause I really want one. If there are too many wolves or something happened to 'em you can adopt.

I wonder if wolves make good guard dogs?
Or maybe it'll help me get the exercise I need. :D

I don't think you can own wolves as pets in Canada or the US, for those asking where to buy them. They're very much undomesticated, and actually protected species in some areas.
hockeyislife0193 1 year ago
WHY would you want a wolf? Let them stay free like they should be. The only purpose you should have a wolf pup for is to breed them! Not as fucking pets!
EternalTearsICry 1 year ago 3

But my wolves give birth to a baby every year.
This is because they feel comfortable.
So please do not blame me, too.
I'm always sorry to my wolves.
anyway, I must thank you for your interest. ^^
venpia 1 year ago
Thanks for your reply, I was not insinuating in any way that you are cruel to your wolves.
Wolves can breed in captivity, my zoo has pups most years (adorable) but I think all animals prefer to do it in the wild. Maybe something about privacy :P

@dadeskr Personally after seeing a special on tv about dog a and wofl DNA and learning the history of the Malamute breed I think that malamutes are basically just domesticated wolves.
