Recorded on July 2, 1969. There are two versions of this song that contain different lyrics, which was released in 1975 on the Metamorphosis album. Lyrics to this song were never finished, as Mick just made them up as he sang.
Vocals: Mick Jagger Lead Guitar: Mick Taylor Rhythm Guitar: Keith Richards Bass: Bill Wyman Drums: Charlie Watts
This begins the same way as "Can You Dance to It" by Cat Mother and the All Night Newsboys. As a matter of fact, the beat--that driving jiving beat--is also the same. Since this came out before "The Street Giveth and the Street Taketh Away", it can be said that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
I have loved the Rolling Stones since I could ever remember I ever liked music(ever since I have existed) and I had never heard of Metamorphosis until a couple of weeks ago. I go to a record store, because I am a weird teen and love collecting records, and I found this and bought it finally today. So far, another very good Stones album.
Anybody who can make a guitar sound THAT nasty would have a difficult time getting a date with a "nice" girl! LOL Thanks for posting. Sure hope nobody hocks my 'lectric git-tawr!
keep on rockin' stones !

JUST A GREAT SONG , LOVE THE SOLOS , A GREAT JAM !!

Sounds like Keith is riffing in open G. As for the lead guitar (slide) that's either Taylor or perhaps Ry Cooder and I don't have a clue.

Does anyone know what tuning this is played in for guitar?

greatest song from the greatest rock and roll band in the world.
prince69602 6 months ago
Another classic hidden gem which should have been a big hit. Stones have more discarded unknown great songs than most bands have hits.

@jbstonesfan You got that right! I'd love to see a boxed set made up entirely of songs that didn't make the cut.

Should've been a B side. Classic Stones. Should've been attached to Brown Sugar or Wild Horses. Sounds like '69/ 71.
