  • This is a great song to listen to if you're cruisin' Pacific Coast Highway going to the beach in Santa Monica, California.

  • @1962drob Even Huntington Beach and Newport Beach in Orange County.ROCK ON!!!!!

  • @MrMegaFredzeppelin Hey Man, I'll take ANY Beach in So Cal!!!! Back when I was in my 20's and single, I used to hang out at the Beach to check out the babes in bikini's. Man, those were the days.

    ROCK ON BRO!!!!

  • Great Jam !!!!

  • As an Air Force Brat living in Holland during the mid-70's lots of great music was being played over the airwaves and BTO was just as hot there as they were in North America! I was attending AFCENT International School in Brunssum, The Netherlands and a large group of us, 70-90, were dorm students living a dream both in lifestyle and culture! Getting to see BTO live in concert in 1975 was just one of the many great experiences I had and to this day I along with my classmates share them daily!

  • This was my first concert guessing 78 in Pittsburgh what a night, riding in the back of my brothers pick-up truck on a beautiful summer night, good times back then.

  • BTO!!!!! When rock was rock!!!!

  • gyönyőrű szám.................

  • There's only one way to listen to this song.... crank it.

  • This video has been chosen for October 14, 2011 post on Facebook Page: Random Daily Classic Rock Song

  • My favorite BTO song ... beautiful rock !!! Long live rock !!!

  • truckers are bad to the bone, how the hell do they park those things?

  • @justclassicalguitar very carefully

  • @justclassicalguitar very carefully

  • @justclassicalguitar

take our time, and after a while it becomes second nature .. 25 years 2.5 million miler club

  • April 1975, just finished Air Force basic training and was in Denver for speciality training. Met a buddy, called him Spider, he was from Philadelphia. He and I used to get a pony keg of beer on friday afternoon, sit in the dorm room and drink for 20+ hours listening to BTO. Fast forward to Dec 30, 2010. I retired from the Air Force after 35 years. With 60 % hearing loss. Worth every song ... and I often wonder what happened to my buddy ....

  • @leoandjurge something you'll never forget sick story man.

  • @leoandjurge he probably wonders what happened to you.

  • @leoandjurge That's a cool story! Thanks for serving -- I hope your retirement is rewarding!

  • Sounds very much akin to my own experiences! Joined the Force in '77, retired the same day as you, so you've got me beat by a couple of years. How I remember the music which blared from our dorm rooms. After Lackland and Sheppard, was stationed at Wright-Patt for 8 years. What a blast it was. Before I left, I had gotten married and started a family; it was time to grow up and move on. But the memories will last a lifetime, and what a time it was to live in.

  • @leoandjurge sounds like you may have been a 462 BB Stuffer? MMS Munitions man... :)

  • @leoandjurge Also sounds like you are retired E9 CMSgt ???

  • sparked up my first blunt listening to this song on a road trip from Boise Id to Seattle Wa :-)

  • This is a great song to listen to while cruisin' down the highway.

  • @1962drob You sure got that right. This is such a GREAT song.ROCK ON!!!!!

  • How Canadian can you get? This was a true antheme song when we hit the high-roads of the highways of Canada! This song ROCKS! I just wanna get behind an 18-wheeler and travel across Canada! Thank you for bringing back so much memories! This song is for Lisa Kelly .....

  • Taking care of business...hammer down.

  • Who would've thought...the Guess Who...perhaps?

BTO...yep... music I remember whilst growing up in the 70s!

  • What kind of truck is that at 2:42?

  • this entire band came from one sperm cell... but it belonged to god

  • @stupidflyer649 So it ista multiheaded Canuck

  • @GeorgeCarlinIsInHell How are you able to concentrate on the road? o_0 That must be like ten times more distracting than talking on a cell phone. If I tried that, I'd probably plow through a barn or something. You must be one of those bad drivers I'm always complaining about. X(

  • Illustrate 100 I didn't go through half of what you went through in the 70's and I still wonder how *I* am still alive.

  • @wsrfr33 yep, I just look back at those years and shake my head. Sleeping on the roadside in gravel still freaks me out. I know cars went by, but I guess they didn't see me. Giant hangovers.

  • I went to the doctor with a cough that wouldn't go away. I was given all sorts of tests, and they couldn't find out what was wrong with me. When I was driving, I used to sing along with Fred Turner. When I stopped doing that, the cough went away.

  • Friday, 12 midnite, 1975. Me and my bud Leonard just left Naugles Tacos in Corona and we're flying down the 91 freeway through Riverside in my old GMC panel truck. We got our dirt bikes in the back, some food, 2 coolers full of beer for the weekend (ain't nearly enough beer!), and we're headed up to Giant Rock in Landers. Leonard lights up a doobie and hands me another beer! All the while, BTO is blasting through my truck! Life is good, life is very good! ...sigh!

  • 20 people can't drive on the highway.

  • Good song I remeber when was too you but anyway is awesome, fucking good song

  • trucks sure came a long way since the 70s! Salute to all the truck drivers, you rock!

  • Heavy duty rock pure and simple!

  • The scream at 3:42 is just incredible.

  • reminds me of my uncle jimmy when he came home from nam he got in a truck an never came out just call us from the road.

  • kickass canadian band

  • this reminds me of driving on the hiway in san diego in mums 1969 skylark in 1975 love this song now i listen to it in my 1994 nissan 300zx twin turbo thats more like it!

  • This music powers my 82 KW W900 A-model down the highway still today. Only the classics in my classic.

  • i listen to this every morning on my way to the yard and somehow it always makes me excited to climb behind the wheel of my 18 wheeler :D

  • @dueltruck700

    I bet it does :)

  • Damn that guitar solo is amazin still today!

  • @2010metsfan you got that right. The truck at 2:42 is fuckin' awesome.

  • blah blah blah you like what you like they like what they like. blah blah blah justin beiber blah blah blah. stop wasting space.......... go away.

  • pure & classic rock...

  • grrreat song, in my opinion

  • BTO & Loverboy bring back many a good time......

  • Twenty people are roadkill.

  • @richiebear1969 Amen bro! This classic rocks!

  • Killer solo on this one.

  • Justin Bieber is a disgrace to the music of Canada and the Unites States! I wished I had a email address to one of the members of BTO. I could see it now, BTO walks on stage where Bieber is doing his silly dance and sings, then the music stops, the guys put a hot rockin guitar in his hands, and BTO takes the show playing this song! That would be the end of the Bieber Era! BTO had some very good hits in the 70's, gosh, where are they? They need to be back on stage and teach these kids of today!

  • Happiness!

  • I double dare "gay boy" Justin Bieber to record this song. He's probably to scared to. He can't play guitar like these guys can, he doesn't know how to ROCK. Now, I wonder if Justin Bieber would be willing to meet BTO and learn how to make good music like this? We all should go to all the Justin Bieber sites and post something so that little shit reads it, and learns he needs to ROCK.

  • @tnlance1 Daring (him who's name shall not be spoken) to cover this is like daring Botswana to match NASA in terms of space programs - a dismal failure likely to end in deaths.

  • @tnlance1 No, justin beiber just needs to straight up fucking die.

He's a little prick cunt who thinks he's hot shit and can go die in a hole.

If he starts to play rock music,

    he will ruin rock.

  • Speaking of Canadians, let's just see if Justin Bieber could Rock like this? My answer, Hell No! Justin Bieber is a wimp, ready to crash and burn! There are many Hard Rockin Canadian Bands I liked from the 70's and 80's that had talent. Why in the hell are they letting "Gay Boy" Justin Bieber out of his domain and try to tell us he's good? That's B.S. Long Live B.T.O

  • 20 people have too many unpaid speeding tickets

  • Oh no, I have to drive in a minute !!

  • BTO Rocks!!! Great Song to rock out to when You're crusing down the highway!!

  • music went downhill after the 70's, sad.... yea I got hammered too. :-)

  • BTO is my life story of the late 1970s. Thank you sir for sharing.

  • im a california truck driver nice pics

  • making bad choices don't make it right because u survived

  • this song will get you a speeding ticket real quick :P

  • @arkangel7j 30 years of driving only one ticket :))))

  • @smuggler59 wish i could say that , only had 1 stick tho ;)

  • the best guitarist

  • ZZ Top and BTO would be a great concert.

  • where is hold back the water...???????????

  • This video rocks BTO FOREVER!

  • I love this music takes me back when i was a kid

  • Yeah, Boy!!! Just added this classic to my favorites!!! This song Kicks Serious Ass!!! Too bad today's so-called "rock bands" can't play like this. But, what the hell is up with the "21 dislikes"? How the hell can you even have a "Dislike" button on a Bachman Turner Overdrive video. YouTube needs to take that button off.

  • Is ths some kind of colored slideshow for a truck-fetischist page ?

    Anyways, epic song.

  • I used to drink beer listening to BTO and get hammered in the 70's. Used to end up sleeping in the woods, or in the gravel on the side of a road, or with some woman I didn't know. Sometimes I wonder how I'm still alive.

  • @illustrate100 u r 1 lucky sob

  • @illustrate100 sleepin inthe woods... like your style illustrate... you probably own a home not far from those woods...

  • @SJPIKUL I've slept in so many woods it's lucky I didn't end up on a truck full of logs.

  • @illustrate100 So you're the guy I tripped over in the woods and almost ran over on the road,,,,, good thing I got to that strange woman before you. ;-)

  • @Jackle61 some of those women I don't think either one of us would confess to

  • I've been there myself waking up between the house's when i was 15yrs old, hungover and thirsty some of the friends i had past away from either drugs or alcohol abuse,me im still here smoking pot and enjoying my life even when its diificult.

  • @illustrate100 Being born a Canadian baby-boomer will have those effects on you :)

  • @Gravelrally1 Well, I'm close, from Michigan. But I love the Canadians, they're my brothers.

  • @illustrate100 I think I have you beat. we snuck into a keg party at night in the woods (I think I was 15 at the time and we were camping out in the woods at a friends house. ) drank a bit , and I woke up the next morning finding out I had crapped my pants, Wasn't pretty. Good memories though. See ya, gotta go to the bathroom.

  • @blackwingA520 Yes! I crapped my pants from drinking in 1979, rolled on it all night. Woke up on a couch looking upside down at a fish tank with a parahna in it.

  • @illustrate100 I am happy to be taking that baton mate!

  • @gnarkillkicksass good luck, keep an eye on your liver and colon, big beer drinking can affect both...and don't sleep in the gravel on a roadside, I don't know how I survived that one

  • @illustrate100

Hey we both made it, we're still alive. Glad to have Youtube so we can watch these great bands still.

    Oh..Canada!!!!!!

  • @illustrate100 damn. you stole my life story! lol.

  • @illustrate100 this is the band that helped me get serious about playing guitar !

  • @illustrate100 That makes us who we are today, your probably married and have kids!!, Everything just always works out.

  • @illustrate100

Me Too, however I am still alive and into my 50's. Stay safe dude!

  • @illustrate100 Whoa...That was YOU??? LOL

  • realy liked it

  • My dad loved Bachman Turner Overdrive-he was 54 years old when he passed away-he would be down in the basement cranking out BTO

  • Rip Cf Turner 1947-2011.

  • @FreeBlwJobJudyKhan he isnt dead

  • @CumOnYourUglyFace no Fred Turner is still alive. Let's not confuse real life with your gay fantasies

  • @FreeBlwJobJudyKhan yeah, no fred isn't dead. Randy and Fred are actually touring As Bachman & Turner, I don't know where you got your information but it is not trustable

  • BTO well represented Canadians, its a shame there aren't bands like this one anymore :(

  • @plehdehgame Bachman & Turner are back together look up Bachman&Turner on google. I saw em live last year

  • @plehdehgame If I ever make a band, it will be like BTO,Rush, Steve miller band and Led zeppelin.

  • @AlesandroMoon

You just listed 4 of my favourites; If you made it, I'd listen to it, bud.

  • @plehdehgame acdc comes damn close in my opinion

  • @plehdehgame You wont be seeing talent like this too much if ever again. Record labels get "talented artists" (skilled puppets), radio stations play their crap music because they're paid, and today's youth gets they're head so full of junk that they forget how to use a google search and find some music that inspired the roots of 90-99% of what they're hearing today. Great to listen to today's music and enjoy it, just try not to be ignorant. OK, time to let it ride!

  • @plehdehgame april wine, and the guess who well represented them to.

  • @plehdehgame There are still good Canadian bands.....Nickelback!

haha just kidding. But what about The Tragically Hip?!?!

  • @soccerp011 i fucking LOVE the hip! have a 4 disc collection of there concerts on DVD and there greatest hits! they dont get enough recognition!

  • Try Grace Potter & The Nocturnals. They have that good 70s vibe. Very good tunes, too. Highly recommended.

  • @plehdehgame thin lizzy was canadian right?

  • @Nudedude555 Thin Lizzy was Irish

  • @a81079256 oh well some dude was majorly wrong

  • @plehdehgame Yeah, now the only groups we have to represent Canada are groups like Nickelback. Oh God...

  • In 13, for you good taste!Битлы-это saint and let I from Ukraine, but understood Brazilian.

  • I love this song...Long live Classic Rock!

  • Saw them live in '75 when this song and album was at it's peak.

  • at 0:44 it looks like the Highway to Cape Breton Island from the mainland of Nova Scotia Canada

  • Ever notice how your foot hits the gas pedal a little harder when this song comes on the radio?

  • What a great song,and guitar riff...!!!

  • after 25 years...this song still gives me goose bbumps!!!

  • @TrueRosser1 Actuall its closer to 40 yrs ago.........

  • @TrueRosser1 Actually, its closer to 40 yrs ago.......

  • ONE of the BEST guitar solo's in rock-n-roll history is right here in this song!!!

  • wow ai 60 de ani si stii ce i ala youtube?

    MA MIR!!!!!!

  • My mom used to drive truck for UPS and she said she cant remember how many thousands of times she jammed to this song up and down the highway

  • @91Gunnyboy your mom is a milf

  • 10 4 good buddy let er roll down the hi way catch ya on the flip side oh ya love this tune awesome stuff

  • am 60 ani si marturisesc ca aceasta melodie este pentru mine nr.1 in muzica rock a anilor "70! BTO rocks forever !deasemeni si clipul este grozav...

  • BTO Rocks!!! Great song to listen to while cruising down the highway.

  • woooooooo Canadian music rocks

  • Trucker's Anthem!

  • one of the best songs ever written, with simple lyrics... "let it roll", down the highway, yeah. Like none of us have been there? Performed by a true hard rock band before glamour & makeup.

  • @cme98

Glam predated this song by about 4 years. Not that I cared for glam all that much - I'm just sayin'......

  • @BuzzardBreath69 BS by two years...or less.... have you ever heard let it ride?

  • They play this at some Pirates games. I think. Lets go Bucs.

  • Was BTO A hard rock band,or a metal one?

  • @Freyja1133

They were a Hard Metal band. ;-) Back then it was called "heavy" metal, and judging from the weight of some of the boys in BTO, I'd say it was appropriate.

  • @BuzzardBreath69 no doubt, buzz... i agree with you

Could ther=ir sound be brought in to power metal though?

  • @BuzzardBreath69 no doubt, buzz... i agree with you

Could ther=ir sound be brought in to power metal though? BTO would be called traditional metal hese days

  • I'll bet Justin Bieber coulda sung it better.....

  • @mocus1

YOu master the art of ironi to the edge

  • @mocus1 No matter how good Justin Beiber is, he is from the 2000's. Singers back 30 years ago are in a class all of their own. No comparisons can be made!

  • @mocus1 Justin Bieber isn't even fit to carry BTO's jock straps.

  • @futuremath08 Ah, cut her some slack. ;-)

  • This song is just amazing , can you imagine this song with a Dodge Charger 1969 RT?

  • and just to think this was the second wave of rock and roll i grew up with. No time better.

  • This was first year of high school for me i think it's '74 right. BTO was big in my area as i am Canadian. However like alot of these younger kids here who, like my son and daughter, who grew up in the 90's , wanting the music of a generation before, I wanted the late 50s and early 60s when i was born. Funny isn't, how i appreciate the music i grew up with as a teenager(BTO) and as a comtemporary, alot more now im alot older!

  • does anyone else think that the Machine filter thingys are impossible to read?

  • Oh man ... I was so lucky -- this was high school music for me! Gotta know - is there anybody out there who can sing half the lyrics to this song? Sounds like they're gargling with bubble gum thru most of it ... lol!

  • This type of music will never be replaced, its more then a feeling, it was life back in the 70s

  • Born 49, first "record player" at age 3 ....I was there for the birth of rock n roll, not stoppin 'til I'm dead! Fast music, muscle cars and free love.

  • This is forevermore one bad ass song. I love this stuff. This is the music of my generation. Cruisin down the highway with the window down the wind a blowing and not a care in the world.

  • I grew up on this music and still love the old rock tunes from my youth. It's nice to see that some of the younger generation appreciate true rock-n-roll.

  • we decide our fate and we have no one else to blame

  • @benbonsan who u mad at,usually the answer is,"Yourself"

  • This song Fucking Rocks!!!

  • 19 people have no taste.

  • Fred and Randy kicked ass at the Grey Cup halftime show!

  • I fuckin love this song...

  • i was born in 68 this is the shit we or i used to play driving around looking for someone to drag with

  • <
