@ReverberatingSound that's true his aggressive style of vocals I imagine would eventually take a toll. Some people have it for good some have a certain amount of time irregardless I would think it would have had some level of effect on his ability for clean vocals but those seem better than ever.

I am a big In Flames fan and have even seen them in concert. When I saw them live before they played Anders said he was not feeling well and did not sound right when he was singing I chalked it up to sickness but it seems whenever he plays his songs he never sounds accurate to the original recording although the rest of the band seems to do a pretty good job.

But, yeah, officially they're melodic death metal, as nenntmichbond stated, even if it sounds soft. Children of Bodom is a heavier melodic death metal(or progressive metal, depending on the person) band, you might like them. Sorry if I'm somehow offending or annoying you.
