Rose's friend portrayed the woman in the hospital on Golden Girls who comforts Dorothy when she has to have her foot operation. She is the woman who has to have another mastectomy. I think it was in season 1 or 2.

@grammarnazi2009 I have often heard people say that although dementia is a sad disease in and of itself, the effects of it can be morbidly humorous. Perhaps its like laughing to keep from crying.
