Poor posture is now considered a culprit of GERD. Why not. Poor posture is physically compressing the digestive system. Also eating an apple prior to bed is great to help GERD. Both the emotional and physical problems cause GERD. I've lengthened my spine and whole body. An offshoot to this is that my GERD has become nearly none existent.

E.g. one of their websites sells a cure that helps diabetes melitus, they claim that you can be weaned off of your insulin but as a type 1 diabetic you have lost the ability to produce insulin full stop and in 99.99% of cases there is no way to change that fact, stopping taking your insulin WILL kill you and all diabetics are told as much when their first diagnosed...

I'm starting to search for a natural remedy for acid reflux because my 2yr old daughter has it really bad. After every meal something comes back up. The only thing the doctor told me was reduce meats & dairy then prescribed Prilosec. Haven't tried meds yet, she's going vegetarian and it has reduced it-but daycare tells me i need a note from a doctor to not feed her meat-isn't that silly? 2 people suggested the use of Acidophilus & said it worked for them.

As a further reply to you the main drugs prescribed by doctors are called proton pump inhibitors or PPI's these prevent the stomach releasing so much acid and so prevent the burning sensation as acid travels up your oesophagus and also prevent the possible oesophageal changes from normal to abnormal tissue (known as Barrett's oesophagus). There are other stronger treatments with more side effects like diarrhoea but still not cancer!

Apples provide antioxidants to your body which can help prevent the sort of damage done over time by cancer but only as part of a long term effect. Also apples contain malic acid, in case you wondered the stomach contains acid and mostly oesophageal reflux pain is acidic burning, how's adding acid to the stomach going to help precisely?
It depends on the each doctor's philosophy. A husband & wife doctors couple from our church are known for their belief in "better living through drugs"-i've hear him say this. They never heard of the natural use of Acidophils and i had 2 friends who said this worked for them. There should be the determination to treat the cause, not the symptoms!
I agree, totally and truly, and when you here about people slandering natural remedies it's not fair, even if someone is only cured through the placebo effect they're still cured right? It's also something that's being adressed in medical teaching at the minute where you hear horror stories of people on tens of drugs simply because each one cured the symptoms of the previous instead of adressing the patients real issue, however
people should be able to make up their minds about treatment in the most informed way possible, the doctor couple will, i'm almost certain, look into alternative therapies for a patient if asked, doctors have to acquiesce to patients wishes above their own advice if the patient wishes. The key point though is that this company charge for information freely available on the internet and have mixed up the facts about the drug therapies giving people the wrong information entirely.

@jahwarrior03 ...hi on friday i had a cortizone shot for bad sciatic condition , that i had been dealing with for a while...i've had the shot before ..with no side affect...however i had the shot on friday past...and on saturday i've been having a constant hiccup and belching every few seconds...i drank water, held my breath...but it would still come back...it subsided this sunday morning, but it came back when i ate today...I also have a slight sinus condition ....IS THIS SYMTATIC OF GERDS ??
This idea is great, natural remedies can help heart burn (or gastro oesophogeal refulx disease), they can counter the acid in your stomach simply by being alkaline. HOWEVER Why waste your money on this scheme? your doctor can give you this same advice for free after a 2 minute meeting and if necessary prescribe drugs that can help prevent GORD causing oesophageal cancer! for heavens sake use wikipedia and look up GORD and not this money stealing scheme, if for no reason than a second opinion!

All our family have suffered from this condition.
My brother and mother have died recently of throat cancer DIRECTLY related to this acid reflux!!
I take a PPI drug in UK called Lansoprazole and it reduces this acid to a SAFER level.
PLEASE get a drug to treat your condition, as you may be susceptible to cancer growths in your throat as in my family problem!

1). If the "doctor" really cared about people, he would make the information free.
2). GERD is caused by physiological problems that won't be cured by eating apples for three weeks.
3). This guy mentions side-effects associated with the medications but can't seem to go into detail. What are they specifically??
