youve probably already tried this, but you could try not just bringing her in for riding, but catch her give her some food andthen let her go. if she dosnt like being left on her own, you could catch the others and then wait for her to come up of her own accord or you could go up to the other ponies and make a fuss of them, and when she comes over to see what shes missing you could catch her andgive her a treat. apart from join up, those are the only things i can think of x

monty roberts stuff - my old pony was a dick to catch, one day i just got fed up and sent him away round the field, after about 5 mins he stood in the corner and i just walked up to him and caught him :) you have to sort of change your demeanor - be really full on and 'oi!' sort of thing, and then when they start showing signs of acceptance sort of thing change to very passive, and they should let you catch them :) sometimes it takes a while, but it always works :D xx

shes beautiful! but i can only really think of join up- constantly chasing her and keeping her away from the herd and not letting her stop and stand if shes not going to let you near her which i what i done with my 4yo when he became funny to catch, iv not got any problems now and i only had to do that twice so it may be worth a try? whatever you decide good luck, keep us posted too :) xx

my pony can be really difficult to catch in the summer, my record is 3 hours so not as long as yours! Maybe she is difficult because she's ina field with a gang of other horses, mine has to be kept on her own with other ponies around her in other fields. To catch her I leave the gate open witha bucket of feed outside of it and then sneak up behind her and shut the gate. Sometimes that doesn't work though, one time I just had to chase her until she gave up and then she trotted down the yard :)

Love it! Not sure about the catching thing, maybe if they were in separate indivual fields it would be easier cos she probs just wants to stay with the others. But then she probs loves being with the others, its a tricky one :/

possibly try just going out there with a hand full of grain every time your out there, and just sit there until SHE comes to you? then just let her have it tell her shes a good girl and leave her be? wont be to long before she comes looking for the grain! then alter her and walk her around a bit and let her go again, and slowly work up to it?

When my pony used to be bad to catch i would ge some food then hide the headcoller, give the other horse some of the food, then she would think i was just giving all the horses food:L then i would go to her give her half the food, put the rope round her neck and give her the rest of the food, she was then caught;):L:L haha, she was a dumb pony:L♥.

i know this sounds really useless and it probably wont work XD but our mare is a nightmare to catch, what i do is go as close to her as i can, as soon as she looks at me,i walk away with my head down, in "submission" then just keep walking back up to her, whens he looks at you then walk away again, then eventually she walks behind me, and once ive got her i praise her LOADS and give her treats :L it wasnt join up or a parelli thing, it was in kelly marks! :)

you could try catching another horse first so she'll either want to be with the other horse or be jealouse that your giving them attention.

This is going to sound weird but try stiing/ crouching down because she'll wonder what your doing and usually they get inquisative enough to come over and see what your doing

when you are putting her out give her a treat or something then like 3 times a day catch her give her a hug, attention and a treat then she might come to you :P bribery ;) xx

i had the same problem with my cob last year, i ended up crying after trying for 3-4 hours, its so frustrating, i tried fencing her off etc, i used to not even be able to get within 2Om before shed run off or try kicking out at me. I had to get other people to catch her for me, there wasn't really a fix to it for her though, just had to keep trying at it until she'd let me catch her. sometimes its just time that works. x

I had the same problem with both Molly and Spice. Both solved differently as Molly is a heard pony and Spice is a loner. With Spice I went out in the field and sat and stroked her didn't bother to bring her in, then when I did want her to come in, I'd give her a treat and whistle and now every time I whistle she comes in without question. Molly I did join up in the field so she had to see me as the heard leader. Hope your problem gets easier, bless Steff :)xx

Try chasing her away , eventually if you keep doing it even if she comes up to you she will want to come into you , But dont keep chasing after her its justa game , Or have you tried catching one of the others ( that she likes ) she mght then follow you ? xx

i have no idea if this works, but it did with spurs everytime i went near to him he would walk away, as soon as he stops and just about to eat run up to him so he runs away so i didnt give him a chance to eat, and kept on doing it until he thought 'whats the point? i cant eat may aswell come in' and now he comes when i call. but tbh i have no idea if it will work with steff :/ lovely video though! ♥

I had this with Mabs. I simply left her in the field until she came to the gate. I think it took about a week. It sounds harsh, but if she wants to play silly buggers then you should give it back ;) Worked for me! xx

i have the same problem with solomon :') i rustle something and if he runs off i just stand there and walk over slowly, and stand away from her abit, then if she comes give her a treat :') it works with solomon but i guess every horse is different:/ hope this helps:) xxxxxx
