Shays aren't known for acceleration. I think they were used primarily for moving wood downhill.

i spoke at his funeral for deb about running with us on the motorcar rides he was a good friend....we planned on doing a memorial run for him this summer on the skally line....

I was at Cass she was down and I guess getting fixed. I was there in 2004 and got a

This is one of several shays that reside at the Cass Scenic Railroad near White Sulfur Springs West Virginia.

For some reason, I don't usually associate "acceration" with a Shay loco. But it moved fairly quickly!
