Sometimes less is more. I think crossfingaz tried to do way too much in the time he was given and it resulted in a routine that sounded all muddled. I don't mind the use of customs, but I do mind when a DJ gets the idea that they can do whatever they want on the production end of things (i.e. weird noises and sounds, but worst of all, SAMPLES THAT MAKE NO SENSE.) I enjoyed rafiks set because it was musical as well as technical. Crossfingaz set/routines SUCKED! Bottom line.
turntablists use em to mark the cue points for the different scratches and samples that make up the routine, some just mark the vinyl to give you the approx location of your sample others are actually to guide the stylus for super fast cueing, its a pretty basic part of being an awesome dj!!
