  • go to hell

  • aside from his amazing talent and hard work does anyone know how david gets that bright sound with what mouthpiece and basically what kind of baffle? because ive seen people on youtube test the high baffle mouthpieces and they sound the same as students in the 5th grade band concert...

  • @dustbiter445 practice and long tones buddy (he is like 60 now and he says he still practices everyday)......the way his oral cavity is structured plays a big roll if you play on a dukoff d8 chances are you still won't sound like him exactly

  • Love this song <3

  • Wish i could buy this DVD...

  • Now, this is what's up!! David Sanboorn doing the damn thang!! ~ Good music last 4 ever!!

  • 2:22 Best lick EVER!!!!!

  • whos the guitarist?

  • @lucidlark

    Hiram Bullock

  • ***

  • remember "hard times" from saturday night live? was it wilton felder or david sanborn?

  • Hiram Bullock lost his life to substance abuse. He was a great musician. Several times he has performed in the Syracuse jazz fest. He needed to learn how to relax when performing on stage...He appears too restless.

  • Do you find it weird how i love jazz, i love david sanborn yet im only 15 years old :), wsh i was born in David's era ;P

  • @patrikc8 Lots of kids do. I was buying jazz records with my money from chores at your age lol First one was Mulligan Meets Monk. Mulligan got me on bari sax. Some good stuff.

There are lots of kids like you into jazz, and it's not weird. Just too many teens listen to crap today because it's popular. A lot of jazz clubs allow in kids under the drinking age some nights. I went to my local one every Monday lol Got to play there too when I turned 16! You should go! Live's the best!

  • @patrikc8

    i was 15 when i discovered sanborn - 1982 ;) cannonball first though....

good music is beyond time (beethoven, for example). there's a lot out there for you to find. enjoy!

    music is the best

  • badass Hiram RIP BROTHER!

  • Great sound, David!!

  • The two best, most impressive sax sounds I've heard in live concert were Branford's soprano and Sandborn.

That's just how an alto should sound, all due respect to Parker, Cannonball, and the other greats.

  • ohhh amazing video, do you know how i can download the DVD? thank you

  • wowwwwwww!!!!!

  • Watch my videos with high Sax interpletando Djavan, Ed Motta, Roupa Nova, ... Thank you.

  • Hiram brought so much life to Sanborn's concerts. I hate to hear he's not with us any more. Man!

  • *****

  • carrie is betta singin it

  • In addition - he is very handsome! :)

  • @harshmistress i think so too!

  • @Clement8617

    :-D

  • David sanborn has a way with making the sax sound better than any voice with lyrics. Great sound, melody, and most of all great band to perform these great hits. Hes definitely my fav! very charming too ;)

  • @DexChick90 i feel special now cuz i have the same last name as david haha

  • @ksanborn42 hell yeah u should lol

  • @DexChick90 lol

  • 0:01 :P

  • 0:01

  • That lick at 2:25 is NASTY!!!!!!! I cant wait to see him in May

  • Damn, David looked hot back in the day! I first became familiar with his work with the "Hideaway" album back in '79/80. To this day, "Carly's Song" is still one of my favorite tunes. I heard his music before I saw what he looked like and I just know from the soul that exudes from this man's sax that he had to be a brotha. Imagine my surprise when I first saw his pic 30 years ago and discovered he's a white man. And a fine looking one at that!

  • great music

  • excellent virtuos!!!!

  • Is there any doubt that dave was an absolute master!

  • was?

  • Seems you caught me in a slip. Thanks for pointing that out brother.

  • LOVE

  • FA PAURA!!!!!!

  • I love this song.

And david plays it like God.

He's just the greatest sax legend alive now, in my opinion!

  • I love the electric piano ,it sustains so long, and goes very well with the sax sound.

  • Im back in the 90s drinking kubies at Humpries by the Bay

  • Sounds like a pretty good place to be right about now.

  • Sanborn, Hiram, and one mighty fine band at their peak in the 80's.

  • 堪稱 近代爵士Jazz的經典演奏...讚!!

  • Great stuff from David. I just love the way Hiram Bullock skips around the stage in bare feet. He is sadly missed and was a unique player.

  • Even in many years I do not get tired to listen to this fine musician! Thanks!

  • Thanks for posting! A nice one!

  • This song takes me back to a night in Atlanta, GA. where I had one of the best times in my life. Lovin' those memories.

  • I've loved this song since about middle school :-)

  • jesus christ. uptown jazzy. rip my ears off and eat them,

  • great video

  • ELE REALMENTE É O CARA!!!!!!!!!

  • David starts his solo by quoting "Lover Man". I love that.

  • R.I.P. Hiram!!!

  • @masapell "In 2007 Bullock was diagnosed with throat cancer, but responded well to treatment and began touring again. However, longer-term problems related to substance abuse culminated in his death on July 25, 2008"

    what a pity :(

  • He's just got soul, dude.
