Very Good, you should busk with that sort of material, I have been busking on the fiddle for years and I would definitely recommend it, its very good to have a different sort of act to everyone's usual common tunes. Go for as much variety as possible.
I love the fiddle and think it needs to be heard more in Metal. I love that your taking it in that direction and I think your doing a super job! Keep it up!
@CountessFreyja Confession: I do have an electric now (or at least my partner has one and lets me use it) so I might well start recording with either acoustic and/or electric. Electrics are certainly more convenient for recording on a budget...
Well done dude, I'm tryin' the same, the only metal band who has actual success is Eluveitie! We can rock the same stuff on the violin, as on the guitar! KEEP IT UP!
@bijou74 Thanks, that's really flattering! I'm hoping to upload some more stuff once I've got anything worth uploading - knowing people are liking this video is a real inspiration!
@ADHDsloth Yeah I know (wink) - it was literally something I wrote in about 10 minutes lol! This is pretty old, so I'm hoping to put up some real projects soon.
I think it's context. What type of music it is. Don't quote me, but I think Violin denotes more classic style and "fiddle" to me says a little more folky or off beat.
it's just the genre of music played on it dude... it's also slang... it get's called a fiddle because some of the predecessors of the violin were called fiddles...
wow, i thought that was really cool! we need more violinists like you to make people more interested in learning the violin. i like the fact that its acoustic and NOT electric cause its different.
people these days tend to lean toward electric violins (not saying that theres anything wrong with them), but its nice to hear some variety of music on the acoustic violin instead of hearing all the cool music on electric violins.

I think it's context. What type of music it is. Don't quote me, but I think Violin denotes more classic style and "fiddle" to me says a little more folky or off beat.
fabricbear 3 years ago
my original post was made to the ignorent remark of calling a violin a fiddle and saying there is a difference...
both are the name of the instrument (same instrument) word fiddle means VIOLIN in Idish
Old European Jewish language.
BUT IT IS A SAME THING!!!!
musicmysh 3 years ago
it's just the genre of music played on it dude... it's also slang... it get's called a fiddle because some of the predecessors of the violin were called fiddles...
keadykola 3 years ago
it is not a genre - fiddling is playing the violin...in modern english it came to be somewhat of a folksy, but it is not the genre.
Fiddle is a Idish word for Violin. There were never an instrument different from violin called fiddle. can i make it any clearer???
musicmysh 3 years ago
@musicmysh for what i know, the difference relies on how you play it instead of the instrument itself
but i might be wrong
