The contrast in the portrayal of the killing in this scene as compared to the shootout in the rain is stunning. A truly excellent film.

The slide on Sullivan's pistol didn't move back (to eject spent cartridges and chamber a fresh one) when he shot Connor. The hammer didn't move either! I'm a weirdo perfectionist, and such an in-your-face mistake like this really bothers me, considering how good a movie this is.

@gartnavel89 Crikey I had never even noticed that before? Yes you are correct. Looks like a 1911 pistol he uses to shoot Connor there. He uses this throughout most of the film. The amount of times I have seen this film and never even picked up on that? The empty cartridges can be heard falling onto the floor, but are nowhere in sight when Sullivan walks out. There should be three empty cases on the floor. Good observation! Regardless it's still a great film.

Did anyone else think it was weird that Sullivan shot Connor Rooney from standing up, shooting down at about a 45 degree angle, and the blood splattered higher up than Connor's head when we see his reflection in the mirror?

Surely the blood should have splattered on the floor, or on the wall just off the ground?

If you watch where he points his gun, it doesn't match that of where Connor rests his head. Surely he would of been sitting up of some sort.

actually the reason that i had this video was to create a gif animation from the frames. i dident need the stuff before the actual kill. i do agree with you the scene is much much better with the stuff before it. i recently had to reload my computer when i finally put my cap programs back on i will go back and get the entire thing and add a link to it here.

loved the movie, but the only problem i have is with his colt m1911....while you can clearly hear the empty shell casing hit the ground the slide never jumps back nor is the hammer ever in the firing position....sorry im a technical guy.

If I am not wrong...there s a big Direction mistake in this scene......from the direction the gun points to and the hand f the person n the tub...t can b clearly see a shot made to the head at that angle wud not produce stains at a such a height on the floor!!!!definitely not as if head banged to the wall...

The bullet does not always come out straight out from the opposite end. There is stuff within the skull to make it come out at a different angle. ;)
