Too much criticism here. My goodness. Take the performance on its own merits and you might find that it's a good rendition of a beautiful piece. Lovely solo voice, nice choral blend. Thanks for posting:)
sorry, she has a wonderful voice, and the organist could do with listening to it loads and loads befor playing it!!!! No feel there. again my Humble apologies, Mike Sole, Organist, Pianist, and Cockney Lay about!
IMHO, Miss Longino has a very pleasant voice and her vibrato is not huge, but like that of a well-played violin. Of course, everybody hears in a different way. She is clearly a guest soloist and is therefore supposed to stand out from the choir. As for you, HwangMyungShin, learning is a great thing!
Excuse me, but are your ears tuned to A=440 ? I am rather sure that the three-inch speaker upon which you are listening disallows validity of your obscure criticism. Humbly, Timothy Paul Banks
Sorry, but Haley was a regular member of the Choir, not a guest. I suspect you will hear of her in the future, now that she has graduated. Humbly yours, Timothy Paul Banks
Dear Miss Longino, your voice is unique and very beautifull, and it's also interesting how one's accent has an effect on how the voice sounds, in our Choir, the Soprano's sing completely differently, like a cluster recorder, rather than a cluster of violins. I know the high you experienced from singing those gorgeous lyrical notes.
Gosh.... I always thought that Europeans were superior to Americans in classical music, especially English Cathedral music, and as a Bass of the Bradford Cathedral, England, I'm impressed with you Americans. ^ _ ^ PS - I didn't know they had Evensongs in America. God bless.
It's interesting as well, hearing this song sung by Americans, feels interesting, in England, we're forced to sing with exaggerated consenance, which gives the notes power.
Every Wednesday and in my cathedral (Episcopal) in Cleveland. Tallis Dorian Mag and Nunc this week. Stanford in C for my other gig in Akron next Sunday. We Colonists are catching onto you all.
A good performance, but rather too operatic to those of us used to the English Choral tradition sadly

Why the huge vibrato in the solo voice? Does not match the rest of the choir. Nice tempo though!!

Sings constantly under the note and sings with a mouth in "letter box" which does not favour the formation of the different vowels.

Unlike many Choir's, the Tenor's don't like to sing loudly, but here they do, allowing the texture of the music to ripen.
