It does matter what kind of song you sing. yes, it is the heart that matters, but when you are worshipping...the song should be about who the Lord is not what He has done for us (that is praise) or about us in any way shape or form. worship is different than praise. praise is the whooping and hollering and clapping and running and dancing and shouting about what the Lord has done. worship is about WHO HE IS. His attributes w/o us in the song at all.

NO SONG is what God wants to hear. He wants us to be about him...that is worship.

Writing a song about how much you love Him would fall into that category.
