One of the most awsome TV themes of all time. This series still gives me chills whenever I rewatch an episode. Some of the scariest stories and characters ever shown on TV.Lance Henrickson is the boss!.
I´m 25 and I still get shitscared from watching this, just as I did 10 years ago. You never really get over the things that affected you in your youth!
mabe they cancel them because those shows touch a realy sensitive aspect of our life things like being controlled by governments in every little thing we sopose to decide for ourselfs, like what to eat, what to listen... things like governments invading our privacy , denieing our freedom, adn so on ...
Loved this show and never missed one. Got to work on a few episodes of it too here in Vancouver. You didn't so much as *watch* this show as...take a bath in it.
I watched Millenium when I was a kid, about 9 years old. I could only watch it when mom and dad weren't at home in the evening, it was about 10pm and I was scared as shit every time.
Awesome theme! I love it!!! Mark Snow has some good stuff in X Files as well! Both movies were amazing! I just finished watching all of them again! ♥ Really miss those times... '90s were my best years hehe :P
@mrramsook I have such sweet memories from the late 90s, I was a kid cca. 10-11 y.o. and I remember watching this great series when there was a general "2000 - the end of the world" talk everywhere, such things, with this series used to fascinate me so much, I miss such times, when I could have dream and fantasize with open eyes
If I have only one complaint about the show is the uncertainty surrounding Frank's ability. Although Chris Carter stated that Frank was not psychic, the way the ability is portrayed (s1) kinda make him look like one. In season 2 we get into a more of a "gift" kinda thing, the fact that Frank sees ghosts and devils, suggests he is more prone to seeing evil and unseen realities. Season 3 is a more or less a combination of s1 and s2. My opinion is that he had a rare ability of seeing into evil.
@brav0wing from the get go, it was a supernatural themed show like the x-files with which it shares the same universe. frank is a detective mainly dealing with serial killers and supernatural twists connected to the killers.
I loved that wonderful Crime/Drama/Mystery TV show. Lance Henriksen was brilliant. The 90's had so many awesome TV shows - this one, La Femme Nikita, The X Files, ER, Acapulco H.E.A.T., Walker Texas Ranger, RoboCop The Series, F/X, L.A. Heat, Spy Game, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, The Pretender, Babylon 5, Lexx, Earth Final Conflict, TekWar, MK Conquest, Soldier of Fortune Inc, Dark Skies, Amazon, SeaQuest, Xena, Farscape, Baywatch, Renegade, Melrose Place, Highlander...
@valenciaterrorcorps If I remember correctly some of the interviews...Either Lance Henrikson or somebody from the cast was really upset the whole 3rd season. Didn't like the fact that (SPOILER ALERT) they made the millenium group the bad guys.
@Industryscorpio Opinions change. In the millennium season 2 DVD, Lance Henriksen said that Morgan and Wang kinda made it into a fairytale, instead of serial killer of the week gem. Now, in an interview (you can read it at BackToFrankBlack site) Lance Henriksen said that when he said that first time, he didn't actually saw season 2, but now after watching it, he realised and understood what Morgan and Wang tried to do. So, opinions change with time.
Amazing title. Mark Snow is a genius of music. He always made appropriate themes or songs for any series he's been on, XFiles, MilenniuM, Harsh Realm or The Lone Gunmen
This brilliant piece reminders me of " a good man on a bad day".( Sadness, pain, regrets and loss) but when its finished you are calm and postive. Mark Snow very talented( thinking man's) Composer.
I've always been a fan of the Millenium series, what a brilliant show. Too bad it was canceled after 3 seasons. The main title theme is one the best songs in tv history. I never knew there was a long version of it. After so many years of watching the episodes over and over again, this is the first time I heard the full title theme.
Absolutely amazing piece of music. All soul's agony is in these notes, all regrets for things lost forever, and every bittersweet farewell. Brilliant, brilliant song.
This was a show that was ahead of its time. I was very young when they aired it, but I remember secretly watching it and being so impacted by its content. That's part of what made it so great, the fact that it reeled you in and made you feel. It was so raw and disturbing, and simply brilliant. Thank god for DVD releases.
anyone remember the episode with the like, 3 demons playing poker? and the one demon tells his story where he met this woman and fell inlove? but he had to lie to her and tell her he didn't love her cause it was being forced on him.. so she killed herself? god that episode still sticks out in my head as one of the best episodes of ANYTHING i ever seen on network TV.. EVER!! still to this DAY! and it was SO many years ago.. i must have been 14-15, now im 27 and i wish i could see it again :(
@SatansMullet like kroovyluv said, "Somehow, Satan Got Behind Me", Season 2 episode 21. Recently bought the dvds so I could watch the show for a third time :D
It's actually four demons (or devils, whatever) meeting in a donut shop telling eachother about their soul-gathering exploit, and somehow all of them seem to run in to that 'depressing looking guy'.
Definitely my most favourite episode, with as a close second "Jose Chung's 'Doomsday Defense' ".

@someonefromthisworld Well now that's an especially cynical outlook. Be the change you want to see in the world; after all the future is the present of the past.

The best highlight of this show is that it was respectful with the fantasy genre and its audience.
It never gave us a silly or nonsensical story, it is a serious show that dealt with topics that are usually mocked.
This is why it feels so ominous.
