The adult seems to have the urge, having the partiture shown on his level. Give the boy a break and please dont laugh at him. Why making fun of the boy?
Man to the Parents of that little Boy: Be Proud of your Guy he is talentet!! I play the Clarinett since 9-10 years and i Know that its hard but in his age its much harder. He is talentet thats for shure! But a little word to you dear Momy and Dady: Pleas watch that your Son loves his clarinett because i will help him and it makes his Way a lot easyer .
Greetings from Germany (thats the reason for my bad english)
PS: BE PROUD OF YOUR LITTLE SUNSHINE HE HAS TALENT
wow, he is amazing for his age, i couldnt do this til i was in 5th grade, but dang, at six years old?? he is gonna be an amazing player in high school/ college
for anyone he is awesome. i remember sitting through some shocking school recitals in my time. This kid i would have loved to have been there to show em all up
Amazing how when they stop in the middle Louis quickly points to where they should start. He is gifted. Hopefully the most important gift he has is desire.
wow im sorry for the people who suck so bad that they say that a 6 year old can school them...thats sad that a 6 year old beats you all(go ahead and put the thumbs down sign
true, if they practiced they would be better than a 6 year old. I am a freshman in college and say I am easily 100 times better than him. Perfect practice techniques consistantly makes perfect.
Well, surely the teacher is playing 1st part because Louis keeps stopping and telling the teacher where to start up again. But he is very good for such a young kid! I wish I would've learned clarinet before middle school.........♫
One I did not even know that children started clarinet before the age of 8 which is interesting to me. Two you are doing very well and I have watched a few of your videos. You have improved a lot from the first videos. Good job and I hope that you continue with clarinet!
Nice job... If you're having trouble with rhythms in a piece you're learning (I'm sure your teacher has you doing this anyways, but if not...) put down your clarinet and clap the rhythms of the sections you are struggling with... This will help you learn the rhythms without worrying about playing the correct notes... Try it, and video tape yourself clapping the rhythms. You are AWESOME!!!
Man he is awsome at that for his age im 14 about to be 15 and i am playing hard stuff and he was playing stuff that i learned in 7th grade (i have been playing since the 5th grade) now
I dont see what the big deal is. Sure he will be better than anyone at his schools, but he'll just grow up to be yet another proffessional clarinet player. big whoop
yeah the last 2 chairs in our clarinet section can't get out a note higher then a C over the break! im in 8th grade and 1st chair i bet he could beat me easily!
He's on an Eb clarinet, therefore some the pitches you hear as "over the break" are actually in the clarino register (under the break). However, he'll kick your a** in a few years. And will definitely be better than me by my age...
David Shifrin is a cool cat. Saw him play the copland down at Yale last year with the NHSO. He should definitely be fed recordings of the greats such as shifrin, Ricardo Morales, Martin Frost, Charles Neidich, Richard Stoltzman, etc...simply listening and being immersed in such great player's interpretations would be absolutely detrimental to becoming an outstanding musician and building upon this already wonderful start :)
My God. All the clarinets in the 6th grade band I'm in can barely play C above the break. I don't play the clarinet, but still I think it's kind of depressing that twelve year olds can't play better than a six year old with a growing talent.
I think this video is awesome. Louis will definitely be famous if he keeps up his inspiration.
You bet, Louis is using the register key. He also uses the `curved left index finger` position to make the `break` smoother. See `Secrets` nos. 18 and 19 in my book `Clarinet Secrets`. ;-)
Lou plays on a Vandoren B44 Eb clarinet mouthpiece with Rico, Vandoren or Légère reeds. Strengths vary from 2 to 2.5. He plays a Buffet Crampon Eb professional clarinet.
Vandoren reeds and Buffet Clarinets are wonderful to use! They play very well. I also use vandoren reeds and play on a buffet clarinet...although I play Bb clarinet
Me too.....Vandoren and Buffet all the way. My general rule for students is, anything goes for the first year of study, but then after that, Vandoren reeds only.
I can't wait until the day this kid is famous, and we can all say we have seen him play since he was 4 on youtube :]]
