Wrong. He needed to confront his dad abuse. His father from some reason is spying after the son and his wife and baby. You can see a short shot of the father's eyes when the son took out the garbage. The son warned his wife to take the baby and go wait in the car and then teaches his father a lesson not to try and hurt his family as well.
