Wow!!! This film was incredible. And this scene (in the context of the film) was one of the creepiest that I have ever seen. I heard that the director thinks that "Antichrist" failed as a horror movie, but he's wrong about that. "Antichrist" is a horrifying and totally original masterpiece. And this is one of the best scenes I've ever seen in any film. I'm glad that I saw it in the film first and got the full effect.

i just saw this movie tonight and this scene made me cringe with creepiness and fear. I think if you only see this scene it can be funny, but if you are watching the movie and you don't know about this scene ahead of time, it is very effective. The second shot of the fox is maybe the scariest part because his eyes start to look at the camera (or you) as he is ripping off his own flesh.

Great movie, really pushing the genre of horror. Such really beautiful, haunting and surreal scenes like this and then gritty grotesque scenes of violence. A lotta people won't like it, more wont get it. At it's lowest form it's a woman's grief, a mans ego and urges of sex all trying to balance out in being "normal humans" but back in Eden...Chaos reigns and obsession turns to evil. Also I think it's very important to remember, she should have been medicated from the start.

I just got finished watching this film early this morning... All I could say was WTF! It's a pretty explicit, intense movie. I'll admit, call me ignorant, I could only partially place what the real plot here was. I could peg that the woman's study, Gynocide, probably dealt with a mass killing of women. Especially after DaFoe's character stated that there were many killed in the early 1800s during the film.
