  • Hi, Well you deserve the compliment! Yes I've seen two shows they played. One in Brussels and one in Antwerp. They were pretty impressive.

  • Great!!! I'd like to see more Zappa covers on you tube- I'm working on a version of Florentine Pogen on bass-

    Peace~

  • Nice one, 10 out of 10, for your playing and most of all working it out in the first place. Thanks for the ZPZ posts as well.

  • Thanks, podxtv!

Yeah, this is one of those songs that I always liked from FZ. I got on a tear one day, and decided to learn it. =D

Your welcome on the ZPZ posts, too!

    Peace~

  • thanks for helping me learn this song dude, it's been one of my favorites for a long time.

  • Thanks, thereisnopilot!

Glad you could see my fretboard well enough to learn something! Cool. =D

    Thanks for watching!

    Peace~

  • great! I really enjoy your videos...

    maybe something from overnite´s soon?

  • Thanks, zzappino!

Hmmm...Overnite Sensation? I do own the original vinyl LP of that album. Something slimy? Or perhaps something obsessed and deranged?

    Thanks for the suggestion!

    Peace~

  • the original album featuring this song is Roxy & Eslewhere

  • is that steve vai in the dvd?

  • Yes, he appears in the video frame a few times. Vai was one of the special guests on the 2006 tour, and even a few cities on the 2007 tour.

  • Wow, you did a really great job! Such an amazing song. Do you know where I can find the chords for this piece? I'd really love to learn it.

    Cheers!

  • Thanks, TheBlackPage1! (great handle)

I doubt there are documented chords for this anywhere. On second thought, maybe the MelBay folks have a song book? I play by ear, so I slowly studied every note of this song until I could create chords from the single notes. I'm sure I missed a few, but I feel good about the chords I found. Most of the chords are "fill" chords...they don't really carry the song alone, they fill the melody. Interesting stuff from FZ!

    Thanks again for watching!

    Peace.

  • Good job mate. One of my top ten Zappa tunes. Really enjoyed the post of yo mama as well. Love the way the Dweeze has learnt Franks solo note for note.Look forward to seeing more of your videos. Peace indeed!

  • Thanks, winstonschwarz!

DZ is a great kid! I'm sorry the memory ran out on my camera that night. I really wanted all of this one. ;(

    Thanks for viewing my vids!

    Peace.

  • I LOVE this song!! Great job! Do you play in stereo? Excellent Motor *****

  • Thanks, gtristdan!

What I think you are hearing is my EH Electric Mistress pedal (1976 model). I wish I had stereo amplification, as well as the capability to make videos in stereo. :(

    Sun Village to you!

    Peace.

  • Oh yeah, thanks for the rating!

  • i saw Dweezil on September in Friburg (Switzerland) and i'm very impressed for him playing..there was Ray White not Napoleon..

    great cover...

  • Thanks, andrewjeff!

I plan on attending the ZPZ show every time it comes around. DZ is a great kid!

    Peace.

  • I know a place where they used to raise turkeys.

  • Sun Village to you!

    I heard it ain't there.

    I hope it's not true.

    Thanks for watching, Jawshh2!

    Peace.

  • very good faved and 5/5

If its okay id like to analyze your playing,

I ve loved this song since Zappa & Elsewhereat 10 years old.

    Magnifico!

  • Thanks, DVincentW!

Yes, this is also one of my favorite Zappa tunes, for both the lyrics and the melody.

I hope you can learn something from my video. I am sure the chords are not exactly correct, but close enough for me! :)

    Peace.

  • nice imperial moustache!

  • Thanks, Nudlteaf!

The 'stache helped me get into the "space" to play ZAPPA!

    Peace.

  • Great rendition if I might say so. Keep it up!

  • Thanks, Ritchie14!

I sat on the front row and watched the ZPZ band play this, and thought it would be fun to learn the rhythm parts. This is as close as I will ever get to being able to play wuth DZ!

    Such a fun melody, too.

    Peace.

  • Great!!!! Isn't it something to see (really dejavu) to see Dweezil--looks just like dear old dad!!!!!

  • Yes, "DZ" is great!

    Peace.

  • Fantastic, that was really somthing... i hope there are many more Zappa tunes to come. Thanks for putting it up!

    callum

  • Thanks, LONGLIVEINGROCKER!

I'm thinking about covering "Peaches En Regalia", although it might prove to be beyond my skill level (speed wise). Or perhaps "Sofa"? Hmmm.

    Thanks again for watching!

    Peace.

  • Great stuff! love zappa, love your playing

  • Thanks, Ninja187Rules!

And thanks for dropping by to watch this video!

    Peace.

  • That was great. You made it look real easy.

  • Thanks, Inigo!

I listened to this song like, a million times before I sat down to learn it. One chord took me two hours to "break" apart (I play by ear).

    Peace.

  • zappas sun ?

  • Yes, Frank's son Dweezil!

    Go to: zappaplayszappa dot com

for the latest info on the tour.

    It's quite a show.

    Thanks for watching, gibsonsg23!

    Peace.

  • Awesome job!..very tight..5*

  • Thanks, vaz!

The "QUIJA" board Strat is saying "Yes" to the question "Should I keep posting videos?"

    So, there 'ya go!

    Peace.

  • FZ is so out there...great of you to cover it...nice one, motorpsych0!

  • Thanks, Eddie!

Yes, this song is relatively "normal" (melodically speaking) considering it is FZ. I guess that's why I wanted to cover it.

    Peace.

  • Hats off mr motorpsych0! Sounds great.

  • Coming from you, that's a great comment!

Your acoustic covers of FZ are certainly unique in the YouTube world.

    Thanks again, lexolo!

    Peace.

  • This song sounds like California...I love it...thanks for this, great playing. Do you recommend and specific Zappa albums I may like? Thanks.

  • Hmmm...where do I start. FZ put out about a thousand albums!

Seriously, a fun one to start with would be "Joe's Garage - Acts I,II and III". This set includes "Watermelon in the Easter Hay", which is a song Dweezil says's he cannot even approach because of the emotion behind it (the final imaginary guitar solo). ;(

    Thanks again for watching!

    Peace.

  • i see you progress more and more!and it's more difficult to play zappa without a partition (it seems it's true you loolike more and more to zappa.)compliments

  • Maybe I should grow my hair and put on a fake nose, too! :D

Oh yeah, I would also need to grow a beard to complete the look.

    Thanks again!

    Peace.

  • great job!with zappa it' useful to read and write music cheers

  • Thanks, ivmar1!

    Sadly, I don't read music. :(

I play strictly by ear. And, I have tried to compose, but it always ends up sounding like something I have heard before. So, I focus on doing covers! :D

    Thanks again!

    Peace.

  • wow, love it!

  • Thanks, blueswalker!

I admit, this was quite a "change of pace" from my normal Jimi covers, but just as much fun to play!

    Peace.

  • love those chords you are playing !!! Great playing motopsych0 !!!

  • Thanks, stratbluesman!

Yes, Franks music goes all over the place, and I tried to hit them all (chords, that is).

    Peace.
