the entire cast of deadwood had the rare distinction of having a large group of stars in high demand reaching pinnacle's of their respective career's. Many of them were not under proper contracts and had many responsibilities outside the show to other movie sets. The show fell victim to unusual circumstances which ended it , unlike the soprono's which stayed together much longer with a few contract squabbles over money...
