he should have trust nathan... he's the smartest in that batch!! dunno what happen to the "mark twain" thing though!! he's playful so im guessing he did that on purpose lol... =)
"I'm Clay Aiken and I may not be smarter than a fifth-grader, but I know when to take the money and run." ROFL!! I have to say, this is the funnest thing I've seen ever!!
i know!!! if only he had belived in the kid, he would've won. Going with his gut had been working for him through the whole thing!!! Just proves the saying, 'If its not broken dont fix it''
Good job. I didn't realized that Adams didn't write any of the papers. For some reason I always see him as a federalist for some reason. (maybe he is, just but active enough to write papers) But Madison is blatantly missing from the list. So I am in the same boat as him, completely understand his choice. BTW, I didn't realizes that presidents under the articles of Confederation don't count as US presidents.
Clay is such a cutie, and he's so humble too. I love that was playing for the kids, and didn't care if he wasn't the first to reach a million. This whole episode was so entertaining, I love him! xD
Clay, so happy u won 300,000 for your charity, I have a handicapp son, mental and phycially handicapp, wished they had some of those programs around here, and another thing, my son loves your singing, when u are done, he claps his hands and says yayyyyyyy.....so u put a smile on his face, ty
Actually, these aren't really fifth grade questions... these questions aren't fit into any of the grades. In fifth grade, they only just teach you the American Revolution...
Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader just doesn't want to lose money. Seriously. The school curriculum doesn't work like that.
the problem is that some of us would have learned that in grade 5 while some learn it in grade 10. Reason being, Americas education system isn't evenly distributed to all social classes so i hope people see the dilemma in these posts. of course this is an opinion so I hope no one comes back to bite my head off. :)
these fifth graders probably knew all the answers before the show ans i definately did not learn that in 5th grade. i learnded that in my college preparatory american studies class in 10th grade.
i learned that in 5th grade or 4th grade, of course i grew up in Mexico and education there is higher than in USA, and probably my english sucks but i will win if i were to that show....
mmmm.....I am not kidding, I know what I am talking about....I was in 10th grade when i moved to the US, and I am going to college right now, so I can freely compare the education of both countries and you can't. Mexico is a country that fails in so many things that I dont even want to get into that, but the MEXICAN EDUCATION IS HIGHER than here in the USA. Of course this country helps you to get good jobs and good money. I cant discuss that. But I was in 10th grade in Mex when I took Calculus I
I so wouldn't have known that in 5th grade. I learned that in like high school. What the heck?! haha. Poor Clay. I'm still proud of him though. <3 And Nathan is so cute. haha. I thought he was going to cry. :( haha. I'm still proud of Clay though. :D
aww nathan looked kind of sad when clay said 'mark twain freaked me out'. i'm glad clay knew how to pick his spirits back up after the game. he's a teacher after all ^^ though i wished he did win the 500,000 for the foundation.

how the hell would a fifth grader know that question, i took ap govt last year and didn't even realize it. but now i have us history so i learned it a few months ago
