@designedmusic He had that skill in Yakuza 2 (not sure about Yakuza 1). It's rather odd, it might be the reversal punch (when you get knocked down is a counter move) when you rise probably more in favour than the sweep kick. The counter punch was in Yakuza 2 and 3 and Akiyama has a counter slide kick when knocked to the ground.
@designedmusic Well, I can be kinda fickle, but I usually take both the artistic and technical qualities into account regarding something like a game's graphical quality--a game could have the outright crappiest textures and bland art direction, but they have all the potential to have fluid framerate and elaborate character movements and animation. I think that's why they invented things like motion capture for the sake of good cinematic presentation (ie, Yakuza 3 had fantastic cinematics imo).
Those traffic cones are my favorite weapons on the street. I think those cones are there since Yakuza1. But I have no idea why they put that big cones on the street. At lease I've never seen them.
I cant see much difference between this and 3 :( am i missing something ? i can see slight variations in the fighting but the city itself looks the same.I know it uses the same engine as 3 but is there that much difference ? I love 3 its one of my favourite games.A PS3 version of Shenmue in my opinion , which is all I need :)
The biggest difference between 3 and 4 is that you can use 3 other playable characters. You can also go to the roof top and underground but I seldom go to those places.
My most favorite character is Kiryu because I end up using Kiryu all the time even in Yakuza 4.
The strongest will be Saejima, but he can't do quick step. The easiest will be Akiyama. And my least favorite is Tanimura, as you can see in my video. Although he can be strongest as long as he's by the wall. I can't decide about heat actions. There are too many favorite actions.
@designedmusic what do you mean you ended up using Kiryu all the time??? Doesn't the game force you to switch characters between chapters?? btw, would the character skill development be a bit rush this time?? since the total game time is divided between 4 characters?? thanks.
Sorry, it must be confusing. I meant the Premium Adventure, not the main story mode. And yes, each character can upgrade to only Level.20. But don't worry, The bosses are much weaker.
Sega just announced that Yakuza 4 would be released in United States next year. Also, Yakuza 4 is nominated IGN's Best of E3 (Best Action Game.) So you don't have to worry about it :)
@12west90 Hmm... if you mean Open-World Action based on a real city, yes. But you can't steal or drive cars in this game. To me, it's more normal 3D action adventure game like other games.
I just realised that Kiryu doesn't have his sweep kick (when he rises from the ground), Akiyama and Tanimura have it though.

Yeah, I think Kiryu had that skill in Yakuza 3. I wonder why.

Japanese are so sexist. Why can't you hit girls in this game?
CorruptedLeo 11 months ago
@CorruptedLeo You can train/spar with Nair with Tanimura, she can give quite a beating if you do not know what you are doing lol.

Good to see they changed his running animation from Yakuza 3--always thought that one looked kinda iffy.

@BloodRawEngine89
It's amazing that people notice that running animation changed. (I didn't notice until somebody pointed out.)

Yes, I really like their cinematic part. I wish they would change the conversations part though.

Kiryu is all but superhuman. Is the Ultimate Mastery still in this game?
mynameisyakuba 1 year ago
@mynameisyakuba
Do you mean the ultimate skill? Then yes, they have ultimate skills in Yakuza4.
designedmusic 1 year ago
@designedmusic Thanks, but I'm talking about the move you get for doing all of the missions or leveling him all the way up.

@mynameisyakuba
Oh... then yes, Yakuza 4 has almost everything that Yakuza3 has. Upgrade system is a little different though.

I'm curious about something...
Of all 4 playable characters in Ryu Ga Gotoku 4 I would like to know:
Which one you liked the most(in history)?
Which one would like the most to play with?
Which one you thing is the strongest or the easiest to play with in gameplay(like, it is easier to defeat enemies using him)?
Which one has the coolest moves?
Which one has the coolest heat actions?
If you have time could answer those questions?
I'm really curious about that. And I want to play Ryu Ga Gotoku 4=)

Kazuma runs better in Y3. I mean animation) Great game!

@Paulerdevil Not really. I'm not running there :) You can only walk or run in Yakuza 3 but Yakuza 4 allows you to walk fast.
