(for those who haven't seen "burn to shine", they were a trio of girls who probably weren't even in high school during the filming. I really want to know what those girls are up to. am i grasping at straws here?!)

I used to love Sleater-Kinney, but their music, for the most part, went to absolute shite after the great album, The Hot Rock. All of their more southern rock/singer-songwriter stuff that came after The Hot Rock is just incredibly mediocre.

I feel the "Burn to Shine" DVD(s) are totally infectious viewing. The camera work is intrusive and candidly shows the obvious talent of the bands. I brought the second DVD for Shellac and Tortoise but after a while I started to dig all the musicians. It's also a nice change from dodgy bootleg videos and for most bands the only time they will be filmed 'professionally'. As a guitar player I also found watching the guitarists handy for tabbing. I highly recommend!

This is my favorite song off of The Woods. I really hope their hiatus isn't permanent. The world is a much sadder place without Sleater-Kinney rocking out.
