It is off an ep called the coconuts. It begins with a rendition of "If I only had a brain". And includes this song, the coconut song and a couple other totally fun songs. They are introduced by Kid Creole...Commrades and Commraids behold the bravest women I have ever known the CCCoooocccoonuts....Yeah I played my copy till it died. I'd kill for a new one as well!
I used to have this album but some how managed to lose it when I moved abroad. Can anyone tell me the name so I can maybe order it. The coconuts rocked, I loved them.
Love this song. Could anyone please tell me if they know a Creole/Coconuts song called something like "I wish I could believe in you" and which album it's from? Thanx.
I have this song on mp3 if anyone's interested. Well, that is if Adriana Kaegi (the owner of this video and resident Coconut) is okay with me doling out copies. :O
the funniest thing on that album is the first track, where august darnell/Kid Creole is singing: "Don't take my Coconuts", ant for the Rest of the album, they sing alone, but he's playing bass..... and there's an old german song on it: "Kriminaltango"
i have two lps of this song i first saw this on mtv when they played videos i have look for years to see this video thanks to the person for puting this for the good 80s music
ahhhhhhhhhhhh there it is! Many thanks for posting this been looking for this for years! Thought it was called Curiosity Killed the Cat for some reason. Think I had it on 45 once. Yeah should be on CD but this is the only place I can find that admits it even existed. Began to think I dreamt it!!!
I have the cassette tape Coconuts-Don't Take My Coconuts and wish they would release it on CD. I played this tape so much it was beginning to wear out. This song appears on the cassette, the one and only album The Coconuts made solo without Kid. We need this one on CD.
this song has such a fun beat. classic girl group sound, but the coconuts add their own touch to the genre. how rare is it to get great singers, dancers, and beauty in one package that works so well together?!
Fantastic! The moves are so cheezy (in the best possible sense of the word) but more or less perfectly executed. It's so hard not to be nostalgic for the early 1980s when I watch videos like this. Thanks for posting!
Adrian Kaegi really is a brilliant choreographer. Check out the first 22 seconds of video. The Coconuts move flawlessless through that tangle. To see more of her subtle but genius moves, go see Kid Creole's live version of "Annie I'm not your daddy." Outstanding visual performance to deliver the Kid's cheeky but groovy beats. Great stuff. It's sad, but this genre will never return, so enjoy it while you Coconut-can.
Where can I find their Kriminal Tango?

Haven't listened to the LP in a while, but I'm pretty sure that song is "The Glory That as Eden" on the LP "Don't Take My Coconuts".

Taryn! I LOVED her voice. Not an amazing singer but a great smooth tone. Ahhhh. I wonder if she's still singing?
