I have a lag am100(lowest end), and I have to say, it plays as well as a $2000 Ibanez s. I've had a lot of experience playing guitars, but I think the Lag was the best $400 I ever spent. Fantastic action, bridge... If I had a criticism it would be that I would ideally like to put some better pickups in, but for a few hundred dollars, it would be worth it. I would love to try a higher end Lag, unfortunately there aren't many in Australia yet. Great review, I'd love to have a play of that guitar!

Hi, i´m planning on buying this guitar but one question: on pics in the online shops there are pickup covers on the pups. but in your review the pups are open and on some pics in the net they´re, too. ´cause i like the typical emg pickup cover it looks better than open pups. i´ll still buy it but i just wanna know if you took them off or something like that.

My LTD has a Floyd Rose Special, but mine hangs loose, even though i tighten it all the way. I havent had to tune it since I bought it about a month and a half ago

ive just bought this guitar :D is amazing - i would advise changing the strings though, ive put a set of d'adario 9-42s on and it sounds much better and is a hell of a lot more playable

@TheEvilExplorer If your gonna buy jackson save just a little bit more and get a pro series, much better timbers, pickups, ect the X-series aren't vry good the pickups sound dull and the trems aren't up to snuff. but hey it's your choice =) enjoy what you do get though.

No, it's made in China - only the top end models are made in France. I belive that Lag have French technicians working in the China factory though to check on quality of the guitars.

I just tested a A200ST a few weeks ago and on monday i'll go and get one in Royal Blue :D It's a really good guitar for that money, much better than an Ibanez like the same price almost unbelievable good in cost-performance ratio.

I like the Headstock as it is without the bottom bit it would be too small for my taste.

I PLAYED AN A100 YESTERDAY AND IT WAS THE MOST COMFORTABLE AND ONE OF THE BEST GUITARS I HAVE EVER PLAYED.

Soz for caps but it was amazing. Amazing warm sounding guitar and the floyd was perfect... I prefered it to a real floyd.

Lag was the guitar I never thought to be worthy to even touch when I am in a store. But now that I see and hear these scereams of terror and wonder I will examen them.....But then again....when coil tapped clean, I heared a sound that didn't sound right for a guitar that price.

Good question mate... If I had to play metal, then I think it would be a Black Machine B7. Doug makes some of the best metal guitars I have ever played. However a very close second would be ESP anything from the custom shop is awesome \m/
