if your worried about the motor showing through the hole thing (whatever it is called) why not have a figure hiding inside or standing beside it.

Just watched a video of 6927 and you can see through the center on the prototype ... "UP CentennialPacing & Runbys From Cheyenne To Sherman Summit" ... at the beginning you see it's 6927, at 1:40 is a view from the side where you see through it.

Please use the correct designation for these units... It is the DD "A" 40X.... Not the DD40AX. Seems many people make that mistake. EMD would correct you. :-)

VERY nice locomotive. I am a Bachmann fan myself. Every time I go to my hobby store that engine keeps looking all awesome in it's box just whispering "buy me" into my head. But I cant because I have not got the cash

I am also impressed with the Bachmann DDA40X. I run a Tehachapi CA. layout with the famous loop and I can tell you that the DDA40 loco can pull twice the load "over-the-hill" as any KATO N scale loco. Minor detail flaws are of no concern to me especially with a price of $75 -$85. Good review.

Yours seems to run very well. How do you get it to stay on the tracks? Every time I run mines I have to constantly slow it down at every turn else the front wheels will come off the rails. If I try running it at a constant speed, every time it reaches a corner it always wants to slow down, and if I run it too slow it will crawl into a curve and stop.

@starguard The locomotive can only use 22" radius or more. Are you using 18"? That puts a lot of stress on the bogie trucks.

great revieuw. I changed the decoder to a Digirail decoder. That changes this engine to a very, very smooth runner. Also that annoying strating sound doesn't appear. Kind regards from the NL

AWESOME engine! also if when you re# it you might want to put the UP wings on the front because the were added to the remaining one But that is an AWESOME engine!
