@MultiFirebrand ... that makes NO sense whatsoever, GJ started in 92, at the earliest per wikipedia, deftones started in 1988, and they've sounded like this whisper croon singing and dreary guitar playing since the start. I love them both, but come on! Get your history right at least... they may list them as a current influence, but they weren't the original. I've seen both bands live, in small venues (or at least team sleep in a small venue), not that it makes a difference.
love the song , love glassjaw like i love the deftones . Both the best bands around , but different sounds.Leave it as that dont try to compare the two, doing so is ignorance.
Music is insanely subjective. Someone trashing someone else due to music tastes is garbage. If you don't like it, don't listen to it. Sucks how one person makes a negative comment and conversation is taken off topic of the music, towards trashing one another. Get over yourself and just enjoy the music.
they dont even fall into the categories your talking about............explain how they suck instead of just saying they do.......... not analytical comments just sound like babies crying over something that matters depending on a persons point of view.
Briel you`re a fucking idiot. You think fans checking out this video have never heard of fugazi or at the drive in? There are quite a few bands out there that I don`t like. Instead of watching their videos and telling their fans the band sucks and they should listen to something else,I just pass and don`t listen to it again. Go and do likewise.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I'm not normally the kind of person to post negative stuff like this. Friends of mine a few years back told me to check out this band. They sucked then, like nu metal had retarded babies with pop screamo. Now they just sound like really shitty pop screamo, like Chiodos or something. Which is not a good thing.
If you're looking for "post hardcore" check out defunct acts such as At the Drive In or Fugazi. This band just.... God it sucks so much.
@eyewtkas22 It's fine if you think I'm ignorant, but I'm actually quite aware, I've listened to this whole ep and their old stuff. I just don't like it. Ignorance would be me saying they suck without actually hearing them. I admit, that taste is subjective. So if anything my statement was audacious and harsh, not ignorant.
@briel ATDI = dope. Fugazi = overrated as hell. so far you've got 1 out of 2. thats hardly something to be impressed with. as for GJ, why comment on something you don't like? use the back button and call it a day dude.
@briel You literally have no clue what good music is. They've been around WAY before Chiodos and fucking Craig Owens. If anything Chiodos took from THEM. Everyone is now dumber for having read that comment. I award you no points, and my God have mercy on your soul.
@briel also you suck very hard at guitar... maybe you should listen to something better for inspiration than ATDI and fugazi. even omar and cedric hated ATDI jackass, and now they make amazing music. its called growing.. you should take their example to heart
@briel ATDI is what happens when good musicians get addicted to crack and heroin. and as to your, "im not normally the kind of person to post negative stuff" BS, your freaking comments on other vids are nothing but negative. you sir, are a douche
I just saw them at the knitting factory in reno. After a 3 hour set the small crowd that gathered was left blown away. It still amazes me that more people don't know of this amazing band and the lead singer Daryl Palumbo. AMAZING ARTISTS...
This is Glassjaw...always has been. You have to expect them to sound a bit like musicians they admire/listen to but they definitely take on their own sound and have grown upon it creating maybe their best string of songs yet.
Amazing. Reminds of Must've run all day and ape do mil off Worship. The softer and jazzier shit has always been my favs by Glassjaw. Final 1:30 is epic
Deftones and Glassjaw toured together years and years ago. On the B-sides and Rarities DVD from Deftones Chino is wearing a Glassjaw T-shirt at one point during a rehearsal. Deftones and Glassjaw are both awesome bands in different ways although they have some similarities and share influences.
both glassjaw and deftones are two completely different and talented bands. and it's obvious that glassjaw draws influence from deftones in their new material. and i'm sure deftones have heard glassjaw before. you people are fucking stupid.
@eyewtkas22 Although you can see they came from the same era of music and aim for the same auspices in their sound: they in no way are the same. This has a more technical edge to it, and they now sound pretty unique. Diamond Eyes sounds nothing like this, and this kind of starts like Lucky You or Digital Bath if you're going to compare it to Deftones.
This is baby making music! I love glassJAw's new shit! It has much more of a groove to it.

One of the best live shows I've ever seen was Glassjaw back in 2004. This EP is brilliant. Takes me here, there, and back again.

@drewhadou Yea, because At the Drive In and Fugazi definitely sound like Jonas Brothers. You'd best look at your own musical taste brother.

Is it me or the vocals from 3:56 to 4:50 sound exactly like the chorus of the song " Hard to breathe " by Daryl's side project, Geometry ?
MrVesanique 1 year ago
@MrVesanique Yep ... "I can't breathe without you"
eyewtkas22 1 year ago
@eyewtkas22 Thanks for the confirmation. Wonder if that was done on purpose.
MrVesanique 1 year ago
@MrVesanique yeah, its the same line. Daryl recycles lyrics in different songs all the time. i think it totally fits with this tune though.
drewhadou 11 months ago
@drewhadou Oh yeah, for sure ! It's really good, not trying to pretend it's not. :)
MrVesanique 11 months ago
@MrVesanique yeah, Daryl does that quite often with song lyrics. i think its perfect for this song. its my favorite part.
