I liked fallout 2 but it was overrated IMHO. The npc and ai problems killed the experience for me. It was worth a one time play-through. If I haves to choose one game made from the interplay people I would take arcanum.

Fallout 2 and New Vegas are too slow for me. Press the quick load button, wait 5 minutes. Save, wait five minutes. In Fallout 1 everything was instant. Or at least quicker.

@CF1791ROLFMAO lol marcus was originally from fallout 2, not fallout new vegas. He's a sheriff in a town called redding (well i think thats the name of it).
It's a damn shame I never got to play this simply for the storyline. Vault dweller fights with the NCR to stop the Enclave. That's 100% better than Fallout 3. Battling for clean water was a stupid storyline! I loved Fallout 3 because of the graphics, weapons, and gameplay. Not the storyline. New Vegas has a much better plot. than fallout 3 I don't really care how the game looks, I grew up with 2d graphics.
@thebrainstorm9803 NCR doesn't help you fight the Enclave in Fallout 2 actually. They're more self-centered and only help you by giving you a job to procure something they need. You might find something to further the storyline during the job, but that's it. Fallout 2 is worth at least one playthrough. If you ever get it, I'd recommend installing the unofficial patch and the restoration patch made my Killap from the nma-fallout forums. Btw, New Vegas used a lot of music from Fallout 2.
@thebrainstorm9803 While NCR was pretty interesting and did have an impact on the end game story, they did nothing to help against enclave because they cared about no one but themselves. Brotherhood of steel only helped by providing intel, but nothing more than that because they were too scared of enclave. You were mostly on your own throughout the whole game, well apart from your companions. But it does have a much better storyline than fallout 3 and new vegas.
Playing this game had made me push the save and load buttons a lot during the course of the game, specially before sneaking and stealing from someone with powerful weapons.
@SovietSpy5010 eventhough the graphics of this game dont come close to that of FO3 and FONV, the game itself is badass. I finished this game several times, and I never got tired of it. When FO3 came out, I loved how they made an overhaul on the gameplay mechanics, but FO2 would still be a very good game for me albeit the primitive graphics and the annoying turn-based battles.

Fallout 3 and New Vegas were made my Bethesda studios. They made the Elder Scrolls games like Oblivion. These original fallout were made by interplay, who are currently working of an MMORPG of fallout. Interplay housed turn based combat, and crappy graphics, and shit, while Bethesda took that, and recreated it into a heavenly game.
@Hal0dude46 interplay is a publisher. Black isle studios, who were owned by interplay made first 2 fallout games. When interplay shut them down, they re-created their own company called obsidian. AndObsidian made new vegas, not bethesda. Anyway, i hope bethesda wins the courtcase against interplay, because interplay is just a shell of a company, and their mmorpg would completely suck like you wouldn't believe. And they would remove bethesda's rights to make anymore fallout games beyond fallout 4

@yesiamjohn I dunno. I like the original Fallout probably the best for storyline, and Fallout 2 for all the gameplay extras (I'm not that fond of the tribal aspect of the main story).
Fallout 3 may have lacked a bit in story, but it was the only Fallout of 5 games that has almost complete freedom of movement and better immersion into the game with first-person aspect bringing the game to a different level.
Now with Fallout: New Vegas, we finally have a excellent mix of the old and new!

Of course it's technically outdated but the colors, animations, and general visual is still amazing imo.
I love FNV, but this game is far superior in terms of personnality.
Comparing Fallout 2 and its successors is like comparing the Bayeux Tapestry with a regular modern wallpaper.

Fallout 3 and New Vegas were made my Bethesda studios. They made the Elder Scrolls games like Oblivion. These original fallout were made by interplay, who are currently working of an MMORPG of fallout. Interplay housed turn based combat, and crappy graphics, and shit, while Bethesda took that, and recreated it into a heavenly game.

@Hal0dude46 interplay is a publisher. Black isle studios, who were owned by interplay made first 2 fallout games. When interplay shut them down, they re-created their own company called obsidian. AndObsidian made new vegas, not bethesda. Anyway, i hope bethesda wins the courtcase against interplay, because interplay is just a shell of a company, and their mmorpg would completely suck like you wouldn't believe. And they would remove bethesda's rights to make anymore fallout games beyond fallout 4

@SovietSpy5010 The graphics are not as bad as it may seem. You get over it very quickly, and i only discovered the first 2 because of fallout 3. Also, gameplay is actually pretty good, if you actually played it yourself. I prefer the first 2 over fallout 3 and nv.

Everything good about New Vegas was incorporated from Fallout 2: Weapon mods, reputation, armor, geckos, etc. Fallout 2 is the best. Deal with it, noob.

If you knew anything about what you're trying to rant about, you'd know that the team at Obsidian isn't "incorporating" or "copying" off of Fallout 2, because it's comprised of alot of the same people who were on the team that made Fallout 2 (Chris Avellone, for instance). So while you're slandering the game and saying it blows, just know that you're ultimately insulting the same team who gave you Fallout 2. NV was mean to be like the older games.

@FirestormInfinity I agree. Honestly, as far as story goes, I think Fallout 2 had the best one. But that doesn't mean I'm going to slander the other games for not having a better story. See, a fans job is to enjoy whatever the team throws their way, and thats what I do. New Vegas isn't perfect, but it adds more to the storyline I've fell in love with so i dnt rlly care. Honestly, I think you get the most enjoyment out of something when u look past the trivial things and just enjoy the art.

Why Fallout 1 and 2 is better
1. better storyline (from vault, find water chip, go back to vault, destroy mutants, casted out, found a village, grandson go find G.E.C.K, found it, village attacked, go save village.)
2. better side quest such as shortgun wedding, boxing at rew reno,
3. much better environment despite Post-Apocalyptic.
4. great dialogs and voice actings

So far this is what I can see in both sides of arguments
Fallout 3 is better because
1. it has way better graphics (because it's 3d with shadows, illumination, depth of fields, ambient occlusion, etc)
2. better gameplay (first person view mode, FPS battle)
3. better storyline (finding dad, go back to vault, casted out, project purity)

serious. really better graphics. but i don't like it. don hate me for this. i just don't like it because many things were not what i expected.
They even get the simplest thing wrong. I prefer the simple Jumpsuit that looks like super hero's elastic suit material over the complicated detailed Jumpsuit that looks very like a normal blue jacket.
I also prefer the broad chest armor over the "realistic proportion armor". MK II have brown pants, not metal pants.
I can go on.

@Auc41 No. Fallout new vegas is its own game. Fallout 4 the real FALLOUT 4 will come in 2011 or 2012. Fallout new vegas is not in the main story of the fallout series.

@Crashandburn999 Neither of you have any idea what you're talking about. Fallout 1, 2, & 3 are both "main games" of the series. And actually, Fallout 1, 2, 3, and New Vegas are all canon so they're all relevant to the Fallout storyline as a whole. So I think what not only you, but what everyone on this video needs to relise is that no Fallout game is more important than the next because every installment to date that is canon contributes to the Fallout storyline. So stfu nd just enjoy the game.

@32TZCarson There was a game released in the late 1980's that was the first fallout. As soon as I find out what it was called I'll tell you. It was released on the Commodore 64 I think. There was also a fallout game released on the original Xbox making fallout 3 the fifth fallout game

@yesiamjohn I dunno. I like the original Fallout probably the best for storyline, and Fallout 2 for all the gameplay extras (I'm not that fond of the tribal aspect of the main story).
Fallout 3 may have lacked a bit in story, but it was the only Fallout of 5 games that has almost complete freedom of movement and better immersion into the game with first-person aspect bringing the game to a different level.
Now with Fallout: New Vegas, we finally have a excellent mix of the old and new!

@haltrix the opening intro when they just blast the Vault members apart as soon as they open the door. much more bad-ass then hiding in a hollowed out rock cave totally out of the way of everyone else in fallout 3 (as much as I loved it, it wasn't that much of a fallout game)

@haltrix Ya they do, And all the weapons look better in fallout 1&2 than they do in the 3rd & new vegas. The death animations are way cooler in fallout 1&2, especially for energy weapons.
