  • スマパン懐かしい!!

(Posted by Youtube Stream for iPhone (yst.me) on behalf of common-bowie-39@softbank.ne.jp at twitter)

  • Just listen to the volleys on Jimmys snare towards the end of the song - immense!! Epic

  • where is the album version? it has once again disappeared for 9 fucking thousandth time. christ...

  • It's awesome that Billy always smiles while rocking songs live. He's clearly having an awesome time

  • @dieJakals did the guy who played doc in back to the future, didnt he die??? if not shouldnt we call him up

  • So I learned this on piano and realized this song has the exact same chords as the opening to the Mellon Collie album. I am serious. This is just quite faster. I was mind blown.

  • @Kotra3 that's actually pretty cool, man.

  • Oh bliss! Bliss and heaven! Oh, it was gorgeousness and gorgeousity made the 90's

  • It does not get any better than this.

RAW POWER FROM THE GREATEST BAND OF ALL TIME

  • 2:26 - Must be cold on that stage.

  • is it just me?just way better than Nirvana

  • purrfection

  • FUCK YEAH!

  • Jimmy is a fucking amazing drummer!

  • i miss james!

  • fucking.sick.

  • tight as fuck

  • At 3:01, James Iha pulls back his hair, as if saying "Oh yeah, we rocked this motherfucker"

  • one word

    awesome

  • The other guitarist looks REALLY close to Adam Jones from Tool. VERY similar guitar too.

  • I remember the first time I listened to MCIS. It was when this song (track 3) started playing that I knew I had found my favorite band.

  • Love how D'arcy moves at :20............ROCK ON!

  • yeaaaaaaaaah

  • Jimmy Chamberlain is the greatest drummer in the world.

  • PURE FUCKING POWER!

  • great. thank you...

  • good...ale ale ale!!!

  • @2:10 love that riff which gives the impression of infinitely ascending like the staircase of an escher painting.

  • I wistfully shudder to think what the world would be like if these four had somehow stayed together through this entire tour and beyond. It almost pains me to think about it. Jesus what a band.

  • as much as I love Billy, goddmanit it any way, Jimmy provided the "loud" for them, and had all tha tones for the "quiet". he will always be the best in my mind. I would have liked any band he would've been in, but, thank god he was in SP!

  • I remember being about 16 at a party, and my mum was waiting up for me to get home... when I got in the door, she said: "That weird Pumpkin band you like was on TV, so I put a tape in and recorded it... " I ended up with a great copy of this whole concert. Many thanks to the Pumpkins for putting it out there, but also to my mum (not MOM, as I'm Australian) for realising that amidst my teen angst of the mid 90s was some awesome music waiting to explode...

  • That was pretty much perfect.

  • what a horrible performance... if there is one thing to say for sp2, it's that all their performances are spot on. this is just....messy.

  • @Btardforjustice it's supposed to be messy dude

  • @Btardforjustice Horrible??? Sounds like the motherfuckin album mate! xD

  • huge. wish i was 16 again. timeless x

  • See, this was the good shit. Billy's a monster.

  • see this tour in philly 2 nights in a row.thats how good it was

  • this must have been a stellar show

  • Wow, only 1 dislike... It was probably Justin Bieber.

  • what a freak

  • Welcome to nowhere fast!

    Nothin' here at last...

  • 293 people achieved a new understanding of life and 1 persons brain imploded for its incapability to understand the power of music.

  • Paulada!

  • I will study and work and save UNTIL I HAVE FINISHED MY TIME MACHINE! So I can be at this fucking show.

  • @dieJakals I would do/give anything to be there, sell my soul twice or even just for you ti lend me your time machine.

  • fuckin amazing.. +5

  • I wish my brother vic would love the pumpkins. they define my life and i hope one day they will define his. i need to jellybelly his ass!

  • jesus christ d'arcy's beautiful!

  • Wow, sounds better than the song from the album... Awesome performance.

  • Definitely the best line up of all the SP years.

  • I love this song, off of Mellon collie and the infinite sadness. I have both discs

  • Gargantuan indeed.

  • i love how billy's vocals are like a very nasal, smoked out kurt cobain....

  • @IamTheScorchedEarth in a good way?

  • @MeYouDisgust oh yes totally

  • Wish I were old enough and British enough to have witnessed this spectacle in the front row.

  • Probably the best concert the pumpkins ever had

  • that little filler on 2.03 yeeeoooww!

  • 1 person is a you me at six fan

  • Fuck.

  • One of the truly original acts out there.

  • fucking incredible

  • where the fuck have these been all my life?!

  • I love music from 1349 to Portishead without forgetting Johnny Cash and NoFx... BUT... The Smashing Pumpkins is one of my best fuckin band ever!!

  • The Smashing Pumpkins are the BEST alternative band ever. This was the height of their career and when I first really noticed them. Billy's vocals were spot on, Jimmy played like his life was on the line every show and James and D'arcy rocked it like there was no tomorrow. As said, they were gargantuan. In my heart, they always will be.

  • Dude Corgans livin' in the moment right there. He if soooooooooooo in to it, man!

  • Jimmy Chamberlain has mad chops, one of the best rock drummers of all time if u ask me

  • @kida2k313 amen to that!!!

  • I do smile when Corgan laughs in the beginning! (;) that concert was simply great!

  • I'm pretty sure every SP song sounds way better live than in the studio.

  • @mattisprettycool I Couldn't agree more with you.

  • YES YES YES

  • Screw you. Jimmy had plenty of input. James and Darcy didn't only because they weren't half the musicians Billy and Jimmy were.

I love SP, and love BC! Great vid!

  • RIP the 90's

    :'(

  • tight. very tight.

  • I luv watching D'Arcy bouncing her body when she plays the riff.

    It reminds me of something.

Jes, t'is true: I wish I was her toilet paper.

  • @ParticleFarticle Wouldnt you rather just be the guy fucking her instead? It seems like a better alternative in every way possible.

  • d'arcy...what a goddess, what a beauty

  • It's pretty apparent that Billy Corgan exploited 2 minorities: Females and Asians.

But held on to his white brother, Jimmy.

I don't knock him, but celebrate his business savvy sense.

  • frikin awsome mad lovely yer rad kik buttt sic as great and i so agree gargantuan!!!!

  • can anyone remember who the support acts was that night?

  • Oh for better times ! I love this video

  • That was one of the most entertaining SP live shows ive ever seen.

  • Jimmy is so goddamn spot on. And Billy had his best vocals during the Mellon Collie era in my opinion.

  • @Tomdawg89 I totally agree, mcis to me is the when the smashing pumpkins where at their peak and prime. I miss that!!!

  • Comment removed

  • this kicks ass. They're ill live. and i agree with umitsjustgrunge you cant rally compare them.

  • Jimmy is a fvcking monster!

  • btw Kurt did not eat the shotgun. he was silverfucked. "its better to burn out then fade away"

  • they both dated courtney love :P

  • seguro que es del 96?

  • NOBODY BETTER FUCKING COMPARE KURT AND BILLY!

They are to diffrent artist who gave us great music!

    Leave it at that!

  • uh well, billy managed to stay alive and make great music

  • i agree, but Nirvana was extremely overrated. Had Kurt lived, Nirvana would've faded out just like every other band, especially considering that he was going through writers block after in utero. Kurt would not be the legend that people consider him to be if he hadn't killed himself at the height of Nirvana's success. I'm sure Billy would be that legendary if he killed himself after mcis. The harsh reality of life is that you can't be on top forever. I guess kurt didn't want to face that.

  • But the thing is man, Even though Zeitgeist was absolutely horrid as a pumpkins album, Ava Adore and Machina 1 and 2 were not bad at all, they just were different than mellon collie. I like Ava Adore just as much if not more, and because critics think that they arent great doesnt make it so. MCIS was a disappointment compared to Siamese Dream imo.

  • Why is MCIS a "disappointment" compared to Siamese Dream? Siamese Dream was a foothill compared to that monolith of an album.

  • Ava adore is the track, adore is the album.

  • @mikescott77 nope, not at all, Kurt didnt like being a rockstar, and he knew if he just stoped doing music, people would talk major shit, like he put the greatset album of the 90's out so the presure was on. it was like make a good album after inutero or you fail. just like the presure for Billy after a beautie of a album mcis, but he dealt with it better then Kurt.

  • billy was able to reinvent himself as a songwriter with adore, which was actually a good album. no disrespect to kurt, but i don't think he would have been able to do this cuz he was more one-dimensional than billy.

  • ok like i stated before lets just drop this. kurt;billy; 2 very unqie diffrent great taltend legend of artist who gave us awsome music to live with forever. done

  • yeah, I'm not trying to argue with you. I think Nirvana is great, I just don't like Nevermind. But Bleach and In Utero are incredible.

  • This songs damn crazy!

    <3 Pumpkins

  • seriously? kurt can't compare to billy whatsoever, kurt cobain was an awful guitarist

  • One of the Classic / Rock/ Opera/ Classical/ Dream Pop-Noise Rock Albums of The: 21st Century

  • Amazing fucking song. Amazing fucking band.

    5 fucking stars.

  • I was onstage for this show... I'm in D'arcys bass cabinet!

  • The Smashing Pumpkins, at this time, could only be described as gargantuan.

  • @PJP9623 1996 was there epic peak for sure

  • @PJP9623 Should have renamed them The Massive Melons...on second thoughts scrap that....for obvious reasons

  • i saw them singing in the rain in cascais-portugal, in may that year, and i never experienced something so powerful - there was a chain linking the group and the audience. We could be there all night - If the guys of the bullfight arena agreed...

  • também lá estive e concordo inteiramente contigo.

foi o melhor concerto da minha vida.

  • yes there is and its magik

  • I only know this song as an instrumental piece, except for live performances like this. Is there also a studio version with lyrics?

  • This song is off of Mellon Collie..How do you not know that lol?

  • DAMN billy's voice sounds AMAZING

  • I LOVE THE SMASHING PUMPKINS

  • me too . Billy Corgan reminds me the singer of an animated band hiting strong here in Italy not being a million dollar production. Search for SWAVE IN THE FUTURE

  • in this times all the fucking emo bands have a vocal, billy demostrate that "sing" and play a guitar like a monster is not imposible.

  • pumpkins at their best. RIP

  • I was there and have the signed ticket to prove it :) memories

btw the 1`st half of the gig was unplugged :)

  • I think all the songs when Jimmy was around are fun to play on drums.... and guitar... and bass..... and sing.....

  • this song kick your ass!

  • I'm sure you're not the only one. But make no mistake, Hummer is an amazing song.

Also, I can't believe I just made a list. Now that I look back on it, I'm not sure I could even make a list like that (well, I did, but it sucked). There are too many good songs for me to do that.

  • That's opinion, yes.

    Zeitgeist (7 Shades of Black)

  • you nailed it man...all songs are badass

  • Am I the only who doesn't like Hummer?

  • yes.

  • I'm assuming that was referred to "Am I the only who doesn't like Hummer?".

Really I don't know why people like that song, the intro and riff is cool, but the song gets old, it's not repetition in the traditional sense, it's just too predictable for me. Maybe I just don't like the sound and/or tonality.

  • i used to think EXACTLY the same - and i couldnt understand how it made the album and why people loved it so much.

then through listening to it more and more - i sudenly realised how fucking good it is and now i love it! just like all their stuff!

trust me man - dont give up on it, keep listening to it and it's genius will shine through.

    peace pumpkinheads

  • yep dead right. It takes a while..but it so atmospheric towards the end

  • For me "Hummer" is just guitar orchestration....so beautiful.

  • Its hard to say if MCIS or Siamese Dream is better, I think SD is flawless every song is amazing But MCIS has alot more creativity and shows the talent as a band.

  • this song is fucking awesome, but hes a better singer when recorded not live. BUT i fuckin love this band. LOVE

  • It's not really a singing type of song.

  • this song is fuckin sick

  • i find it disturibng that when you search jellybelly on youtube, most of teh videos are actually VIDEOS THAT PPL HAVE MADE OF THEIR JELLYBELLYS...... wtf who are these ppl

  • LOLL yeah I figured that out too
