I was lucky enuff to be there at the MB speedway when it happened in June 90. He snapped the 76 sign like a toothpick. The crowd gave a standing O when the driver crawed out and everyone seen the cop cars. One car went out behind a wrecker and the other was so bad that a rollback got it. The crowd cheered again when the tow truck left with them. It still brings a smile every time I see it.

If I remember correctly,  The emergency shut down device failed.

its oil pouring into the engine. the impurities in the oil dont burn clean at all which is why you get smoke (for example gasoline is oil put through a lot of treatment. it would be clear exept that it has a high oxidizing level which is why its yellowy clear.

oil is black because it contains a lot of sediment and minirals which dont burn well. which is why you get smoke)
