They believe that they are somehow playing a role in biblical prophecy by supporting the state of Israel. It's not about what they do not know; it's about how much they care. They do not care how many people are killed, especially if it's Muslims who are dying. Islam to them, is an evil religion which must be destroyed. This is how these Christian fundamentalists think.
You obviously don't know about the 3000 tonnes of ammunition that set sail for Israel last December under the Bush regime. I'm not sure when it arrived, or if it has arrived yet. If it hasn't, Obama could turn it round and have it all sent back.
