This past weekend legislators & activists met in Topeka, KA, to build on this, drafting model legislation. Get ahold of these models & get them passed in towns, counties & states. More than half of the states, seeing the Feds are berserk, have passed state sovereignty. If as many pass Nullification, we've got a good shield, a firewall.

I didn't agree with his take on the Mid-east, but I think there is a bigger threat from my own government, my freedoms are slowly being taken from me, or should I say out priced (Fee's,licensees,tax,penalties) Paul understands the word FREEDOM! i'd give you my thoughts on this bill except that i don't want to be detained indefinitely without trial, without charge, without legal counsel, without disclosure regarding the suspicions/accusations that warranted my detention, without information as to my geographical whereabouts and without information about the possible or proposed duration of my detention.

Should Medina, an American Citizen, be jailed indefinitely without trial for aiding a terror org? No.
The NDAA Bill doen not take away the right to protest. You will not be classified as an enemy. Combatant unless you work directly for a terrorist organization that was involved in 911. The supreme court has already ruled that the US is authorized to detain US citizens (Hamdi v. Rumsfeld). This bill does not change anything.
@ronaldaromero I agree MM oversimplified the bill to make it sound broader than it infact is. Worse, the BORDC (the link to petition) contains gross errors on it.
NDAA will enable detention without due process of American Citizens aiding individuals or groups classified as Terrorist. Terrorism has specific meaning and dissenting against government does not in itself qualify. That said, NDAA should be opposed anyway on the grounds that it releases the requirement for due process.
I thought when this bill passes they can indefinitely detain any one whom they "think" is a terrorist. Technically, now they have the right to detain every human in the planet

The level of resistance probably depends on how its used and also how much traction we get by legal means. If they start arresting Occupy Protesters, even ones that fight with the police, and deny them deu process and send them to military prisons, then I believe that a revolution would be the only recourse left. This past weekend legislators & activists met in Topeka, KA, to build on this, drafting model legislation. Get ahold of these models & get them passed in towns, counties & states. I was never a Ron Paul supporter. I didn't agree with his take on the Mid-east, but I think there is a bigger threat from my own government, my freedoms are slowly being taken from me, or should I say out priced (Fee's,licensees,tax,penalties) Paul understands the word FREEDOM! The NDAA Bill doen not take away the right to protest. You will not be classified as an enemy. Combatant unless you work directly for a terrorist organization that was involved in 911. The supreme court has already ruled that the US is authorized to detain US citizens (Hamdi v. Rumsfeld). This bill does not change anything.

NDAA will enable detention without due process of American Citizens aiding individuals or groups classified as Terrorist. Terrorism has specific meaning and dissenting against government does not in itself qualify. That said, NDAA should be opposed anyway on the grounds that it releases the requirement for due process.

The level of resistance probably depends on how its used and also how much traction we get by legal means. If they start arresting Occupy Protesters, even ones that fight with the police, and deny them deu process and send them to military prisons, then I believe that a revolution would be the only recourse left. An explicitly violent revolution....I seriously hope it does not come to that, because I would strongly prefer to use only non-violent tactics.

I'm currently watching Sen. Ayote and Senator Lindsey Graham on C-SPAN proposing taking away Miranda rights. I think it's absolutely sad that these idiots are so delusional that they think this proposal will not affect American citizens. "The right to remain silent" should not be read according to them.
