I love how JP II completely captivated the mostly Italian crowds who have been accustomed to seeing their own be Pope for hundreds of years. He endeared himself to them by asking them to "correct his Italian" when he makes a mistake !!! How cool is that !!! From that point on, JPII also became one of their own.

This man is what every priest bishop and any holy man should be, love of children, and thinking of people equally, I was 12 when he died and he is one of the only members of the church that I truly admire and respect for all of his work, he was a normal man and he wasnt afraid to let people see it. I imagine Jesus to be this way, to look at him you see he was a kind gentle man and the total opposite of Benedict XVI

I Agree with you that he was the Greatest Pope in History but the longest Pontificate was of Pius IX which was 32 years and that of John Paul II was 27 years.
