@jonathan390 a HDMI cable carries a digital signal so you dont need to go out and buy a expensive one there is no loss of signal in otherwords a cheepo from wallmart will be just as good as a $100 one. And you can get them for like 5 dolla not exactly a big payout is it
@dicksplatts007 I'd have to disagree with you about paying less for a HDMI cable making no difference, I've seen cheap ones create bad tearing on the screen and the more expensive ones have much richer colour. I'd recommend spending at least $50 and only paying $100+ if you have a really good TV.

Ive owned both consoles and I can tell you that the PS3 is better then the 360 BY FAR. This is comming from someone who prefered the original XBox over the PS2 last gen. I go to where the superior console is, and this gen, its Sony, BY FAR.
xbox 360 is the choice for gamers whereas PS3 is the choice for casual players/families. HD/Blu-ray isn't a big selling point to people that want the system to just play, but it could change the minds of people who want it for entertainment. Xbox 360 is clearly the more gamer-oriented console, but ps3 is still better for casual gamers and families.
The Ps3 by no means is the console for casual gamers, just because their games are more diverse, and Littlebigplanet (casual game) averages higher review scores than Gears of War 1 and 2, and any of the 5 Halo's, doesn't make it a console for the casual gamer. The PS3 also has Heavy Rain coming out, which features nudity, sex, and the usual cursing. There is also a sex mini-game in God of War 3. Also bluray can be a selling point if people actually know about its benefits.
By casual gaming, i meant not competetive. PS3 has no tournaments, no MLG circuit, and a laughable form of gamebattles. You might find people that are really into the online multiplayer, but you dont have the same competetive enviroments the xbox does. thats supported by fact, not an oppinion of mine. not having competetions doesnt make it bad, it just doesnt have them.

Both Sony and Microsoft are aiming for both Core and Casual gamers(Hence, Arc and Natal). Both consoles currently support the core side more then casual, but that will change late this year which both companies will support both(maybe). I also remember Resistance, Warhawk, and Killzone 2 having tournaments. Please do your homework before making statements.

I prefer Forza 3, Valve games, Mass Effect, Halo, Gears of War, Earth Defence 2017 and others than PS3 games :) the only good game the PS3 has is MGS4, and even that game has a drawback, it looks more like a movie than a game and Uncharted 2..I dont like Killzone and Infamous...and I prefer Forza 3 over GT, but thats just my opinion ;) by the way, in portugal, you have to pay 20 euros per Month to get the PSN and you pay 60 Euros for Xbox Live PER YEAR, so it's more cheap ;)

they dont even make hi-def dvds anymore XD blu ray beat them, and you have to buy a blu ray addept for the 360 XD you also have to buy the wireless addept for the 360 when on the PS3 its free, same with internet access, the 360 might have some good games but the PS3 wins in the long round.
After having a 360 for bit over a year I sold it and purchased a ps3 the other week.
I don't regret getting the ps3 (it is awesome), but I do regret selling the 360. Now I'm contemplating of getting the 360 again.
Also noticed the ps3 (slim) gets a fair bit warmer then my old 360 did (not hot, just warm), most of all I miss xbox live and the xbox controller. On the other hand, love watching blurays :P and being able to play mgs again and now anticipating the release of the new GT.
not that im going to take that seizure seriously, but unless we do an experiment with 50+ 360s, we won't know will we. i did my research before i purchased my console. the majority of sources sources said around 50% failure rate. not necessarily rrod failure. even with your stats we are talking one in every 6 360s screws up. anyone who uses a 360 didn't do their research, and is just a microsoft fanboy who just wanted to fit the norm. i am not a sony fanboy, i picked the better console.

PS3 is now the best selling console out of it and the 360. 360 has better exclusive games, i admit, but PS3 has a free internet, I can store 75 friends and the graphics are 2 percent brighter. The only eason the 360 is brighter is to make sure it looks as realistic as the ps3 (which it doesn't). Oh, futrue ps3 buyers, don't buy a slimline, it cannot play ps and ps2 games, and there are only 4 cores instead of the normal ps3's 5.

@dicksplatts007 I'd have to disagree with you about paying less for a HDMI cable making no difference, I've seen cheap ones create bad tearing on the screen and the more expensive ones have much richer colour. I'd recommend spending at least $50 and only paying $100+ if you have a really good TV.

Ive owned both consoles and I can tell you that the PS3 is better then the 360 BY FAR. This is comming from someone who prefered the original XBox over the PS2 last gen. I go to where the superior console is, and this gen, its Sony, BY FAR.

xbox 360 is the choice for gamers whereas PS3 is the choice for casual players/families. HD/Blu-ray isn't a big selling point to people that want the system to just play, but it could change the minds of people who want it for entertainment. Xbox 360 is clearly the more gamer-oriented console, but ps3 is still better for casual gamers and families.

The Ps3 by no means is the console for casual gamers, just because their games are more diverse, and Littlebigplanet (casual game) averages higher review scores than Gears of War 1 and 2, and any of the 5 Halo's, doesn't make it a console for the casual gamer. The PS3 also has Heavy Rain coming out, which features nudity, sex, and the usual cursing. There is also a sex mini-game in God of War 3. Also bluray can be a selling point if people actually know about its benefits.

By casual gaming, i meant not competetive. PS3 has no tournaments, no MLG circuit, and a laughable form of gamebattles. You might find people that are really into the online multiplayer, but you dont have the same competetive enviroments the xbox does. thats supported by fact, not an oppinion of mine. not having competetions doesnt make it bad, it just doesnt have them.

Both Sony and Microsoft are aiming for both Core and Casual gamers(Hence, Arc and Natal). Both consoles currently support the core side more then casual, but that will change late this year which both companies will support both(maybe). I also remember Resistance, Warhawk, and Killzone 2 having tournaments. Please do your homework before making statements.

Alright so about the exclusive games...look, theres exclusive for both systems so lets just take that out of the picture then theres the online alright ps3's is free but xbox 360's is better I own both ok and have online for both and Im telling you. You get what you pay for not to mention 60$ for 13 months is really low compared to other online games so dont complain or say that ps3 is better because of that. then theres graphics I guess theres not a big difference so thats gone to. 360s ftw sry

FYI Xbox sucks balls because it was the last "game console" to join the game industry and to copy the DVD technology off the PS2.
Why gamers think Xbox is better? Wherever the other consoles lacked, the Xbox shined. As we can see now the online service is better so are the games in line.
But PS3 exclusive developers put more effort into their games and will always be better so will the online service.
Total the exclusives for each console and see which has more better ratings.

I prefer Forza 3, Valve games, Mass Effect, Halo, Gears of War, Earth Defence 2017 and others than PS3 games :) the only good game the PS3 has is MGS4, and even that game has a drawback, it looks more like a movie than a game and Uncharted 2..I dont like Killzone and Infamous...and I prefer Forza 3 over GT, but thats just my opinion ;) by the way, in portugal, you have to pay 20 euros per Month to get the PSN and you pay 60 Euros for Xbox Live PER YEAR, so it's more cheap ;)

I have both and perfer the 360. None of my friends have a ps3 so i can't play with them. Plus no matter what it is hard to beat halo 3 lol. the only thing that has is COD MW2 and it is on both. Ps3 works out best for me cuz my parents dont believe in paying for internet on a console when we already pay for internet on the computer.... also the ps3 is a gaming console + a computer. i use it all the time for research n crap... images search ^_^ if u know what i mean lawl jk

After having a 360 for bit over a year I sold it and purchased a ps3 the other week.
I don't regret getting the ps3 (it is awesome), but I do regret selling the 360. Now I'm contemplating of getting the 360 again.
Also noticed the ps3 (slim) gets a fair bit warmer then my old 360 did (not hot, just warm), most of all I miss xbox live and the xbox controller. On the other hand, love watching blurays :P and being able to play mgs again and now anticipating the release of the new GT.

not that im going to take that seizure seriously, but unless we do an experiment with 50+ 360s, we won't know will we. i did my research before i purchased my console. the majority of sources sources said around 50% failure rate. not necessarily rrod failure. even with your stats we are talking one in every 6 360s screws up. anyone who uses a 360 didn't do their research, and is just a microsoft fanboy who just wanted to fit the norm. i am not a sony fanboy, i picked the better console.

PS3 is now the best selling console out of it and the 360. 360 has better exclusive games, i admit, but PS3 has a free internet, I can store 75 friends and the graphics are 2 percent brighter. The only eason the 360 is brighter is to make sure it looks as realistic as the ps3 (which it doesn't). Oh, futrue ps3 buyers, don't buy a slimline, it cannot play ps and ps2 games, and there are only 4 cores instead of the normal ps3's 5.

Name 10 good 360 games. Again I say, it doesn't make sense to me.
