  • Not to be too off topic but my goodness Donna Marie Webber is a very attractive woman. Kudos to you.

  • First three minutes is just blah, blah, blah, PLEASE just show us how to stop by doing it.

  • Heh thanks so much! This answers one of the only questions I can think of right now that I need to know :))

  • Thank u again 4 ur videos :) xoxoxoxo

  • I don't understand how people serch for this vid than talk like that about the person is helping, please hater get a life..

  • Yeh do u even no how to roller blade because u look like a lesbian

  • @killingmachine52 First of all, how she looks doesn't matter on how the woman skates. Secondly, why would being a lesbian make her skate less efficient.

  • 0:40 , why u don't kiss the street ? =[

  • תודה גדולה לך..עזרת לי להבין כמה דברים ברולר..

  • @luheh seguee láa#

  • if you do not talk so much before you start the good of the story would be better.

  • This looks like the Civic Center in Port St. Lucie.

  • Well I'm still having trouble stopping

  • thank you. this really helped

  • Thanks for sharing. You may want to demonstrate more advanced stops next time. Slow motion on demonstrating the stops would help.

  • How would you stop when you are blazing down a hill and there is intersection coming up?

  • @agenthelios1

    PRAY :)

  • @agenthelios1 : This happened to me yesterday. It's been awhile since I've been on my blades, but it was the perfect weather for it, so off I went. I went to a little neighborhood thinking it would be safe. I came upon a street that looked level, and it was until the end, where it intersected a busy road. I panicked & threw myself into an embankment that was full of foliage. I figured it was better than flying into the intersection & getting hit. It turned out OK.

  • @agenthelios1 beep beep clunk clunk weeooo weeooo weeooo

  • @agenthelios1 turn hard to whatever way your most comfortable with just like a ski but hauling ass. If you really are good or in a pannic go into a cess slide which is also lots of fun. I have never used brakes in my life on rollerblades.

  • @agenthelios1 Try dragging one of your skates. If that doesn't work, I suggest avoiding hills before you're better at it, or jumping into some grass before you get there!

  • Thank you Donna!

  • I think my first stopping technique was running in the grass next to the street. If the ground is hard it doesn't work very well. Sometimes I still do it to take a shortcut from two paths, and I often start turning and stepping sideways if the ground is hard.

  • u r slowing me down...n i will auto follow u

  • How do you do a t-stop. I've been trying it and it's quite difficult

  • props to the car that was behind u

  • In my country the roads aren't that good, I can rollerblade but is hard when on the ground are small rocks, I don't know how to keep the balance. And the dogs are chasing me=))

  • is that shewolf i hear? win

  • You guys never go downhill with rollerblades?

  • I really am not that good of a skater, and these moves are WAY out of my ability!!! Is there a stopping technique for beginners? Thanks...

  • @MrTinkelsTV lmao

  • WHY R Y SKATING IN THE PARKING LOT!?

  • This is not STOPPING ... this is slowing down

  • thx a lot

  • i find that some times when i push of with my skates some times they slip

  • thats not the proper way to stop, you actually arent a good teacher

  • you actually really suck at rollarblading

  • Hi Donna!

I live in Perth, and I was really hoping to blade to work. However, I didn't realize how hilly Perth actually was until I bought my skates and tried the route out! There are three really steeps hills/pedestrian bridges. Is there a safe way to slow down these really steep inclines?

  • you should be teaching us more in depth how you do the turn stop instead of whatever youre doing, the point is how to actually stop

  • Thanks for the video! You'd do great as a teacher :)

  • she wolf playing in the back

  • Sexy as hell. Thumbs up yea.

  • She's really hot!

  • You might want to set a good example and use wrist knee elbow pads and a helmet for people who need help stopping also may need help when they FALL...and I want to say your hot !

  • lady give me ur number

  • wonderful lady

  • wonderful lady

  • God you're beautiful...If you're married I hope he does tell you this everyday

If you're not...then I hope for our sake that you're town ran outa guys and the milk man drops by every once in a while...(fingers were itching, had to write this apologize unreservedly)

  • iHavee Pro-Roller Blades W|. No HeelBrakee ; What Do Yu Recommend iDo ? !

  • @skylichious check out my video showing you how to do a turn stop. That will help. Also pay mor attention to your edges. If you use the edges of your skates, you can do quick turns when you need them.....

  • @skylichious if you go faster, you can't handle the turn stop. i would recommend a T-stop.

  • This video reminds me of that old Rachel Welch movie, I forget the name of it but she plays a roller derby queen. I love your video and I'm subscribing.

  • @79Protons minus the helmet and pads. Thanks for the huge compliment - at least I 'm taking it that way! :-) Donna

  • thanks teacher

  • nice video. good information.

  • hey thanks.. that's interesting. I can't wait to try. I haven't tried rollerblade at all

  • thank you very much for the video ;D i just got started on rollerblades :p tks

  • Mrs Donna, Mrs Donna may you show me how to do a 270 back royale please?

  • @grawlier No but I bet you can show me....love the white skates! :-)

  • @DonnaMarieWebber Haha for sure, and thank you, you are adorable n_n

  • Wow...you have a nice, fit, and curvy body…

it must be the roller blades. ;)

  • Women like you, are why I (as a young man) dream to be with a woman of age! And, women like you can teach us a thing or two! Just being honest! You are a hot matured woman! :) Good work! And, thanks for the lessons!

  • @recaked thanks for the nice comments. Donna

  • @DonnaMarieWebber

    You're welcome. It's the truth.

  • I just stop by falling on the ground

  • @morgothaod Ouch!!!! :-)

  • thank u

  • the best advices from you thanks

  • DO NOT put your weight in the frout of the skate when slowing down. If you hit any thing that is not smoth the wheel will dig in and you will fall over.

Any thing that creates friction with the ground will slow you down. So heal brake (not so cool but works the best) or T stop or turning (as shown with the spin stop).

Please keep in mind that DonnaMarieWebber is having fun on her skates and just showing you what she has found. Looks like fun but not all she is saying is correct or safe.

  • dragging your back leg mine is my left and it is the best way to stop the only down side is you have to rotate your wheels more offten then normal but you dont have to replace your break pad as often and it works for aggressive and speed skates as well as inline skates because no break pad is needed

  • thanks for the video. it was relly helpful teaching my cousins how to rollerblade

  • I would...

  • Donna, now that I have your wonderful video, where you've outlined the basics of using the heel brake, I am coming back to this one all the more intently as, where as I will start out utilizing the heel brake on my new skates for at least the preliminary skating sessions, being able to stop without it will be very important to me from the beginnning. I"m in this with the dual goals of fun and fitness, and the key to both is being in control, i.e. slowing down, then stop. Thanks as always :-)

  • ça marche pas

je pas capable d'etendre le vidéo!?,,,tant pis

  • you talk to much!!!D:

  • Another great video, stopping is very important, LOL, and btw, you are truly luscious

  • @michaelm742 Why thank you! Blading helps.... :-) Donna

  • Hi Donna, I just discovered your clips last Friday, and now am a lot less nervous at the thought of beginning to inline skate, thank you so much.

    Michael

  • this is not accurate at all..try using the brake thats on all of those silly inline skates and just put your toes angled in and step

  • the best way is the "T" stop

  • nice job

  • Hot!!..

  • Hi there. Thanks for the video!

Training tip: Give one drill/technique you're going to do, then demo. then move to the next activity. Learners can pay follow much easier that way.

    Keep up the good work.

  • @DavidSkis Thanks for the tips. I have gotten better as I go along but I still seem to forget this one particular technique. Keep reminding me if you continue to check out my upcoming vids. Donna

  • this is too much talking. I would of like to see more of the actual sudden stop. Like when you need to stop all of the sudden.

  • @maliguaweee Sorry! I try to explain why before I do it. You will see that all my vids are the like that too. check out my other vid How to Stop on Rollerblades with a Turn Stop. That might be more of what you are looking for.

  • lol she wolf in the background!!! :D

  • @simpsonslover007 OK Ok I didn't think anyone was paying attention because I had the radio playing in my car while I was doing this video. I guess this means I talked too much and you lost interest and found the music more entertaining than me! :-)

  • OMG I hear 'she wolf' in the background! WIN!

  • continued ~~~~ Lol. My tail bone is extremely sore right now... I'm a begining roller blader and I think I might try some of these. The one with the hand movements looks extremely fun. ;) Do you have any more suggestions on how to stop safely as a beginner roller blader and NOT fall so hard on your behind? Thanks for the video!! ~Sway

  • Hi Donna! These techniques look a lot safer than what I tried today. x) I watched another youtube video on how to stop on roller blades, and I tried to do one of their techniques. The technique was to roll one foot farther ahead than the other, and keep your center on the skates. I tried to roll my left foot farther up than my right but I think I did this at too great of a speed because I caught off balance and fell backward. HARD.

  • wow you;re good at that age i was surprise

  • do you have any tips on stopping if you're skating with aggressive inline skates? i believe it's a lot different because of the fact that there's no heelbrake and that it has smaller wheels. plz answer. thx

  • @JTrudy808 I wish I could help you but I have never used aggressive skates. I know that a lot of aggressive skaters use the T stop or the Turn stop. check out my vid on how to do a turn stop. that might help. good luck! Donna

  • wouldnt the split maintain your speed instead of slow you down? its the same figure of eight technique that gets you moving from a a stationary position

  • @spidey20 It depends where you place your weight and force. Placing the weight on the back of the boot gives you force. Placing the weight on the front of the boot and pushing the force to the side of the boot slows you down. I hope that makes sense...

  • @DonnaMarieWebber ah alright, thanks :)

  • for newer riders the best bet will be the brakes the big ski move and the split move work well but if you on a tight sidewalk and have a fence on one side and a busy road/ gravel on the other you need to be able to stop in a straight line. Ultra Wheels Had a DBS or 'Disk Brake System' That they used on a few of there models there really hard to find but if you can it's worth it. it's a small rubber disk that slows you to a stop the more you apply pressure the faster you stop!

  • @RandomPandaET Thank you for the additional information. I really appreciate it! Donna

  • Liked the video, but you should be using a helmet though... Even skilled people fall some times.

  • You are so right. My newer videos have me in gear. I want to promote safety. Thanks for the comment. Donna

  • I find that the T-stop really isn't good for the wheels. I use it only in emergencies. I do a repeated S shape to slow down at high speeds, myself - equal wear on the each sides of the wheels or a turning stop like you've demonstrated but that only works at low speeds.

I do like your videos. You have a nice teaching manner. I could listen to you all day - you'd be perfect for some DVDs

  • thank you sooo much for all of your comments. I agree with you on the T-stop and I don't care for it. It is much better for ice skating. I actually plan to do some DVD's now that I am a certified instructor. I felt it was important to get my certification to be sure what I teach is correct. I see that you are an avid skater too. The skating community amazes me. I am so happy to see that more people are in line skating. And I really appreciate my viewers. Stay tuned....Donna

  • where have you learn all that rollerblading stuff? :)

-and do you have any tips for Ramp/trick Rollerblades? :)

(Sry for my english im 13 from denmark ^^)

  • I actually taught myself just because I love wheels under my feet. But I have to admit that I am not that adventurous doing tricks. But I am sure you can find lots of info on the internet. Sorry I'm not much help :-( Donna

  • @resonance2001

"I find that the T-stop really isn't good for the wheels."

That's because your rolling on asphalt and the asphalt chews the wheels up really badly, correct?

Are you sure that turning stop works? I tried that when I bladed on a bike path, it never works. I never turn around like that. I just kinda go sideways but still rolling.

Do the size of the wheels have something to do with it? (55mm)

  • @Urhoboman5 well small wheels are good for tricks as you can turn better with them, especially a full rocker arrangement (look on wikipedia).

It sounds like you're using aggressive skates.

A turn stop is ok at very low speeds but this is different to a T-stop which is making a T shape with your skates.

Most of the time, I skate an S shape to slow down and occasionally T-stop but yes, the asphalt wears any wheels down

  • How long does it take to learn these. I keep trying different stops on asphalt and they never work. The T stop never works, neither does the circle stop. Every time I try them I kinda of stumble but never fully stop ever.

Is it because I'm a beginner, small wheels (55mm) or poor quality skates?(mine are old but I never used them them till a few weeks ago)

I;m able to do these on smooth surfaces like wood or linoleum but not asphalt or concrete.

    :-(

  • OOhh, eck, I don't know why I haven't seen your videos before - I'm always looking at skating stuff on here

  • thanks

  • A very nice style you have! You look like a figure skater - ice skater

  • Thanks! I like to ice skate too. I've actually lost weight since I did this video. Hope to do more soon when it gets a little warmer. I'm a wimp when it comes to anything under 75 degrees. That's a Floridian for ya! :-) Donna

  • I think the best way to stop was when you turned around... that could be also called as one of the stopping method... I think so....

  • Nice spandex.

  • I borrowed my friend's roller blades and they fit me well. I am getting better but my feet always turn inwards. It is really hard to keep my feet up. How do I move without my feet falling inwards?

  • Wow...this is a new issue. Are the wheels really slanted as if they are really worn on the inside? They may need to be reaplaced. The wheel unit may need to be re-aligned. Check on the bottom of the skate to see if you can move the wheel unit more to the outside. Try on some skates at a store to see if you get the same result. My last suggestion would be to put the boots on the opposite feet and see if you still have this problem. it sounds strange but it might work. Good Luck! Donna

  • 2-

Anyway i m trying to learn this turning -stop manouver which looks so easy when u do it.I would like to ask you ,what to you think about the T-stop ? Many seem to swear by it.I tried it a few times and was very close to fall again.!

Furthermorei would like to ask u if u recommend any training excercises that can improve your rollerblading effectively. Thank you so much .You are great !!

  • T-stop works for a lot of people but I have yet to master it. I'm also conserned about the effects it has on the wheels. But I think it is still a good technique. For exercise, you have given me a great idea for a new video so stay tuned. I'll provide leg exercises that will help. But for now, if you can, do squats and lunges to strengthen your leg muscles. Good Luck Donna

  • 1-

Dear Donna, your Videos are great and better than others mainly because u explain everything in detail.I realy like the way you combine turning and stopping at the same time using the same technique.I ve started roller scating a month ago.Unfortunately i fell and badly hurted my back ("lovehandels area") and i couldnt train for two weeks. Now i m back,a bit insecure und more cautious this time.

  • how to stop:

    First: parrllel slide

    Second: power slide

third: by skating toward the wall.. stop in 1 sec.. will feel some pain.

  • Very funny! I prefer to do without the pain.

  • i HAVE THE SAME ROLLERBLADES HAHA

  • hi Donna i been roller blading for half a year now and i need to know from a pro like you which is the best way to stop on roller blades for a beginner like me i know how to ride them right but i don't really know to 2 stop with them.

    Esteban

  • I take back my last comment! happy to see you chose to wear protective gear in your future videos.. keep rolling

  • Comment removed

  • are these the actual names of the skating moves? I've heard "the split" also called the lemon skate when you are ice skating.. is it the same thing?

  • hey, i just started rollerblading 3 weeks ago and i got a problem. The problem is, stopping when im going downhill. I've been using my brakes.. Any tips which is safer and doesnt ware out my wheels?.

  • The best way is to snake your way to a stop using the skiing motion. If you have never went skiing, then what you do is put your weight on the outer boot and use the inside boot to guide you. This move will allow you to curve easily when going side to side down the hill. Skiers actually use rollerblades on off seasons to keep them in shape and strengthen their legs. Hope this helps! I know that one of my vids gives lessons on the skiiing move. Maybe exercise part 2 or 3. Good Luck! Donna

  • thanks!. will try it out soon.

  • Try falling....it works for me!!!

  • I have been rollerblading for 5 years and I've mastered skating fast and skating backwards... somewhat. This video was very informative. Thank you. I have now mastered rollerblading as a whole. Thank you again for helping me accomplish this feat. Keep on posting.

  • I'm happy that I was able to give you a few tips. I love hearing from my viewers so be sure to subscribe and comment on my upcoming vids too. Thanks for sharing.

    Donna

  • Hi - I've been rollerblading for atleast 8 years not knowing how to stop, I've taken your advice on board but how do u do your turns? Shona

  • Hi Shona! What a good question as I never really thought to tell people how I do it. Because I am right handed, I take my right foot, point the toe and lift the back of the boot up slightly but leaving the front of the boot on the ground and then I quickly slide my heel to the left and that forces my left foot to automatically start the turn or I force it to go in a circular motion. You can practice this with a slow pace.

Good Luck and let me know how you do! thanks for asking, Donna

  • when i stop i usaually jump or jump into grass or somthing

  • whatever works for you. I can't seem to master the T stop but do a search on t stop on rollerblades and you will come across some really good vids on stopping that are much more agressive then my style. Good luck! Donna

  • Alot of people try to do the Tstop way too radically by just jamming down their stopping blade down to hard be gentle and then apply more pressure as you slow

  • thanks for the good advice! Donna

  • lol me 2

  • i started roller blading from 3days ago. I can now run on my Roller blade. And about stopping, i know the concept about how to stop. But whenever i try 2 stop, i feel like i m loosing my control. This vdo helped me a lot. Its really a nice instructional vdo. I m gonna try this 2day. Btw, what about slope? Sud i use this same technique on slope as well?? nyway, Thanx 4 the vdo. Keep making other as well. (sorry 4 my English-Asian)

  • Hey. You're really good. I love blading and you helped me out a lot.Thanks.

  • Thanks for t he comment. I really appreciate it. I've had some requests so stay tuned for alot more stuff to come! :-) Donna

  • sexy

  • I can't hear you. Also, when you are explaining, I can't see your roller blades. Might help to edit the video down a bit. The video is about stopping and it took more than 3 minutes and 15 seconds before we got to see you stop. And when you picked up your right foot in that shaky way before the stop, it confused me. Keep making these videos, but keep those things in mind.

  • I know the quality isn't the best and this is something I am working on. Hope you will stick with me and see the improvements to come. Tthanks for taking the time to comment. I really do appreciate them, good or bad. Donna

  • The volume is a bit low.

  • good skating techneiq's..

  • thanks. Very helpful

  • Thanks Donna this video is really importent. Thanks again I will try that on the weekend.

  • You are welcome! Let me know if the tips help. Donna
