I remember we threw together some paralell port DACs back in 91-92 to play modules on our PCs, we were poor ass school students and we couldn't afford the Sound Blaster cards lmao.
Hey thanks for the video, i'd love to get one made bu the pic in the attached link is a bit unclear, would it be possible to do a MS paint one or something? If not no worries but would be cool that's all.
Oh btw. next thing you should try is this mediaplayer for dos, DSS, it have got covox/lpt dac support too and it could be fun to hear some low def mp3s haha h t t p : / / lrsp . narod . ru / English / index . html
Wow perfect timing, just what I needed haha :) What about drivers, can you use normal covox voice thing driver and still get stereo sound? Great vid anyways, cant wait to get the parts and try this out!
@killerbee230 You can use the normal drivers, but you will only get mono sound unless the application supplies it's own stereo drivers, this is why I included a Mono switch on my schematics, as you will be getting mono sound most of the time anyway. As for DSS, I have used it before, I might test it with this device.
@Jo037 Hmm... I did write back to this comment, but it isn't here, so I don't know if you got it, anyway, there are now schematics available in the video description, hopefully you can follow them easily enough, but if you need help then by all means ask. Remember, though, that this device isn't a perfect solution and that compatibility is not perfect.

And you're playing all my favourite Soundtracker/Fastracker mods by the way. :DDD

Great vid. Thanks for the diagram. I'm going to build my own now. Yay!

Nice video. I've made cheap version of this DAC using 10k and 20k resistors because I was too lazy to go to the shop buy the chips :D
Btw: Is there any wav player that will work on 386 with 1meg of ram? ( loading in realtime from hdd instead of small ram? )

@HighTreason610 I saw that you put the schematics to the description and I think I know how to make it. And it's better than nothing :D
