Easily In the top 5 of my favorite screen romances ever. It's one of those where you hear that after the film is finsihed, the two leading actors end up get married, only in this case they'd stay together! :)

Pixar is to the 2000's what Disney was in the early 90s. I'm almost 30 and I love animated films. I was a bit cautious when I'd heard that the majority of the film was done without voices, but after I watched it, I was floored. The only thing I can liken it to is the silent films of the early 20th century. WALL*E is a msterpiece of animation, with a huge heart, much like 1991's Beauty and the Beast

WALL-E squints when he gets his memory back and says "EE-VAH?" and EVE squints when she whispers "WALL-E".

Then, when they put their heads together, they both almost close their eyes all the way. I never noticed that WALL-E did it too until I watched it just now on TV. It's like that's as close as they can get to having tears (of joy) in their eyes.

The great thing about the scene, and speaks to how well the people at Pixar do their job, is WALL-E's eyes.

When he's reactivated, part of what makes it so heartbreaking is how "dead" his eyes look. The "life" he had in his eyes for the entire movie is gone.

@Citiprime it's also with the part when she presses play on wall-e. before there was music, and music was kind of his life in a way. it showed the two feelings he used throughout the movie. happy and love. it was what made him, him. it was what the other robots knew him for. the music that he played. when there was no music, he was empty and dead. i thought that was sad and sweet too.

As if to punctuate the cruel tragedy of what seems to have happened to EVE. And great point about the expressions and gestures. What makes this end so wonderful is how tender she is now with WALL E. In particular, with that supposed "last" kiss. Brilliant stuff.

Look at this clip one scene at a time. The use of the long shot to give a sense of EVE's desolation at what happened to WALL-E, the way WALL-E's eyes come back into the sunlight as he recognizes EVE. There's absolutely nothing accidental in it, and it works marvelously.

Wall-E developed his "personality" (curiosity, sense of humor, amazement, solidarity, audacity) in his circuits over time. It was a process that took supposedly hundreds of years. So, when he gets broken in space and has to be brought back to be repaired, with fresh parts put into him, it seems that his personality is lost... he acts now like just a robot (like he probably was at the beginning)... and for a minute it seems that´s the way it will be until he finally "reacts".

Remember that computer function, and calculate much faster than the brain of a Human, she can figure out things in microseconds that would take a normal Human about 3 or 4 seconds tops. I have no idea on how they got Human feelings for love thought, that's what is so special about the film.
