I think these sort of practices should be used to increase one's confidence if nothing else. Then you can go out and make changes happen in your life. That's very cool Clutzofhonor, not many have the chance to grow up in the Craft. Personally I look at magic the way Xinths looks at it, but here is my reason for it. Since Magic is part of nature and nature is both Loving and at the same time Destructive, magic is the same way. The way I look at it, is that color is just a way to classify the type of magic one preforms. I can say I practice Green magic, that can mean 2 things, i practice herbal magic OR I practice money magic.
If I say I practice Dark magic, it can mean I use the night's natural energies to preform my magic, OR I do magic to cause physical, mental or spiritual harm. It has a tendency to create confusion, so saying that magic is just a grey area reduces the confusion, in a sense I guess.
@Xinths magick in essence is grey, its how the magick is used that matters. i perfer to do only good, karma is real, do bad and bad happens to you. also take the power of 3 into consideration, not only will the bad happen, but it will be 3x stronger than what you did
