Words could not describe how disappointed I was that there were no RPG aspects in the new version of the game. It's like the video game version took a step back.
This game had also regular duel matches, deck builder and sealed games. There was mostly 4th edition, with some other early edition cards thrown in (no multicolor legends, though).
And you had the cards right from the start, without paying anything, unlike money sucking MagicOnline.
Too bad, it is a pain to install it on modern system and make it work.
@MrCow395 hmmm... if you downloaded this game online, then you'll notice some things are not working. In town when you click on a card to buy, certain text will be missing like "yes" or "no." So when you click the card, press "y" to buy and "n" to decline.
@0p3r4t0r not sure you can anymore. i've never played online with other people before. not sure how it works. i don't think you sit around and wait for people to join your game. if that were the case, you'd have to wait a long long long time. i'm sure there probably is a direct 1v1 where you need the other player's ip address. this version is almost obsolete with it's multiplayer capabilities. not sure. sorry.
Microprose Magic The Gathering pretty much owns still today. Many players still play today (try finding 2010 repack version). The game allows custom made decks, and is way better than the one recently released. And shandalar story was kind of cool too, but everyone knows that duels are most fun :D
@HardWarUK Not really. Not sure what you mean. You can google or youtube 'magic the gathering card game.' The original cards aren't made of cardboard, if that's what you meant. Like a baseball card or a pokemon card.
@HardWarUK you need real cards to play the game in real likfe which is probably what you are finding. this game does not require any real cards. there is another Magic the gathering online (MTGO) that requries you to buy digital cards with real money

@TheCrusaderBin I agree totally. The newer versions butchered all RPG aspects.
