I confess I never liked this piece but seems slowly I come to understand and to appreciate it in a away. we can never have enough peace and calmness inside to understand things in a relaxed way and just lettin them go...
Really nice. I think you should find a local venue that plays live music and let the locals hear your music. I think it would be great to actually get peoples reactions to your music in person. Also you could network yourself and meat some like minded people. Keep up the good work. :)
Thats what I'm trying to do now...ind a regular place to play...hopefully soon I'll ind one. Thanks for checking this out...I'll be posteing up my EP version with a short time...so stay tuned!! :-)
geee, that sounds quite furious ;). pity you didn't post the lyrics anywhere here, as far as my blind eyes can see - will you? I dont know if comments are overdue since you released that already.. the chord at 2.22 sounds a bit strange, like a bossa nova, instead of subdominant one would exspect. but sometimes breaking the rules leads to new horizons... gee, I hide my head under a counterpane - but it is great anyway ;o)
never mind, no it's admirable how many time you spend on replies... and very highly appreciated!! i hope you will keep this version though, as an interesting insight in WIP... :)
Louise, I love this song. It's really great just how it is. I can totally relate to your sentiment here. The only thing I might change would be to start the verses on a lower note so there would be a dynamic change when you get to the chorus. But this can also be done with big instrumentation and harmonies on the chorus in the studio. This song is a keeper!
Hey Aprylle!! Thanks very much for listening. I really want to record this again on my next ep with a full band and I totally agree with you about the dynamics of verse/chorus. Thanks again and Merry Christmas!!! :-)
It's been a while since you put this song on Tube, but of you're still not satisfied, try to do it in a totally different tempo and see what's happening. Somewhere it is suggested to put the capo one fret down. It's worth trying, maybe you get more space on the high notes.
Anyway you'll find a way. Basicly the song has potential.
Thanks so much for the suggestions...I have recorded this in a studio on my demo cd but it definitely needs work still so I might go back to the drawing board. Cant wait till it's finished though!! Thanks again for the suggestions and support...Take Care! :-)
Thanks so much!!! I put this on my demo cd, pretty much as is but I plan to improve it in the future. My next video I want to post will be an original from my demo...stay tuned :-)
Love it Louise! I wonder what it would sound like to see the "tapping" again on the last verse and repeat the "I don't need you any more" one more time at the end - but really - who am I to say? It is great the way it is! Your voice is awesome!
THanks so much my friend! I recorded it in the studio for my demo cd yesterday...it's a song that would sound complete with a band but I left it acoustic for now. Thanks for the suggestion...I see what your saying it seems to need something at the end and it needs more of a hook after the chorus...but if I ever get the chance to fully produce it I'll fix that up. Thanks again John!! :-)
No I dont :-( But eventually I'd like to look into that, I've looked up info on it...seems a bit tricky setting the computer up though, I dont think if I would know where to start. Thanks so much for listening to my original...I really appreciate it my friend!! :-)
Hey Ray!!! Thanks so much my friend. LOL...it's funny you should say it has a Joni Mitchell feel to it...if you compare this to my Big Yellow Taxi cover...they are vertually the same chords...well i've added a couple more in this one, different strumming pattern too. Thanks so much for listening and continually supporting me!!! Take Care
hey! yes, you really need a band to do some background noise in the song lol but its a good tune, i love the rhythm. perhaps this acoustic version could be better with 2 guitars... take care.
I dug that! ... one of your stronger originals for my taste at least. Pretty catchy. I really like the descending "no more, no more, no more... from 2:14 - 2:24. Chords could have been hit a bit crisper. Harmony might work if possible. I would have belted out one more "no more" and just held it... rocked it out for the remainder of the song. Just an idea... you rock Louise. I sent a video response to explain what I'm talking about. Rock on girl...
Hey Balboa515!! Thanks so much for the video response and the comment...I totally agree. Now i just dont know it I should do another bridge thing before finishing on the E or just leave it as is. Also do you think I should take it down one fret...am I reaching too high on those chorus notes???
Well,...a lead guitar solo and fill-ins is always nice,..now that i hear this again. Have you ever thought of standing up when you play?...If you've followed the progression of my videos you'll notice i'm standing for all the later ones!...They just turn out with more energy...especially the vocals; the timing is better too! (just a suggestion)
Hey Ross!! I guess I could stand up...it would help with projection for sure and perhaps timing too...I'll try it next time...thanks so much my friend!!! :-)
sounds awesome, i'd say slow down part of each verse in the beginning and then speed up part of each to keep on same tempo. Or vice versa, right now the lyrics attack on each beat (half?) anyway, maybe alter that. I think that would be interesting. This sounds awesome.
LOL...thats cool...I was a bit confused...but I sort of know what you mean...when you change the song lyrically or change up how you sing the song against the chords it can make it interesting...Bob Dylan I;'m sure did that quite a bit...is that what you meant???
Hi Composer of stupendous songs. This is very beautiful, it has a beautiful turn of accords and a beautiful rittmo.unfortunately not speaking English I don't know about thing it treats the text: however it transports very well the vocal rhythm with the rhythm of the guitar.Hi Louise I congratulate me for your stupendous job.

Hey perthomas!!! Thanks so much for listening my friend!!! You said double the no more part, do you mean one after the other or just at the end before finishing the song???
:)...at 2.14 to 2.22...I would play that part 2 times...and then end the song with the "hey"(on the E-chord..i think)...I would not repeat the chords without singing like you do now...BUT just saying this because you ask...ok!!
Louise.. so happy to see another video from you. This is EXCELLENT, what a great song! I agree with lindapinda - maybe, there's nothing wrong with what you've GOT there is just something else you want to hear with it - I too imagined a lead riff. Love it!! 5/5 and fav'd. Have a great sunday. P

L,
It's GREAT to see you during the creative process... glad you include your 're-starts'.
I LOVE your strumming--esp. at 0:45 where the band is supposed to come in. Playing seems to come so natural to you.
This melody has a nice Joni Mitchell feel to it... maybe the lyrics aren't too Joni-esque, but that's what makes it interesting.
I have no idea how I would change the song... I'm just impressed with the process as much as the final song. In this one, your guitaring was tops!

Its Excellent as is Louise.
I assume,
you have yet to get the band behind it so I suppose it may change just a tad once you do put the polish on it.
A backing band with this would work extremely well I think
of course thats the fun in music, changing things to see what works and what don't
So by all means try a bit of experimentation on whats been posted.
Are you intending to post a band backed version?
