  • To get in you first have to join the cg then get reffered to the DOG

  • thank you for serving

  • going in September 2012

  • @thankgodyourehere I'm going in October 2012

  • @yamachicken for sure in october or are you waiting for a definate date? I just went to MEPS 2 weeks ago and they said their quota is filled for the 2012 fiscal year and i should find out in august or september if I'm definately going in October 2012 or not

  • Wanted to do this since I was in 5th grade. My GPA wasn't what the Coast Guard Academy was looking for but I'm not deterred. Graduating college in 2 years and then applying for OCS. I hope to god they take me this time, I can't work a desk job, that would be the most unfulfilling life i could possibly imagine. I want to make a difference! (looking totally bad ass in tactical gear would just be a plus haha)

  • @TheViduck Sure...if you want to quit. You need protein to survive...and the USCG will teach you that quickly

  • Im 14 years old and ive been ready for this since i was 12. Cant wait!

  • Does anyone one know how one gets into this?

  • im currently active duty CG, in for about 6 months and want to know how to actually get into the DOG groups. My command basically lauphed when i asked them and my a school list (ME) is apx a 25 month wait...im on a buoy tender doing nothing LE related. any advice at all on how to get into one of these units, or how to at least get transfered to a unit that has legitimate LE? Do you need perfect hearing for a TACLET/MSST job? If you have any info please email me as my command isnt much help

  • @nirvanadropkicks I was on a 378 off San Diego and did some LE training but if you have any training or non at all, it doesn't really matter, you'll learn everything you need to know when you go to a DOG. I'm currently attending ME A-School and waited 2 years for it. But it is well worth the time I waited. The training at A-School is amazing and I'm getting orders to a TACLET. your best bet would be to wait for A-School and you'll most likely get orders to a DOG after A-School.

  • @24Daveed im currently a nonrate and i'm torn between ME and GM..whats the likelihood of getting a getting a tactical based unit rather than military police?

  • COAST GUARD DEPLOYABLE OPERATIONS GROUP DOG So AWESOME!!!

  • What rating is this?

  • @ThaBR33D All rates they take the best of the best...Even knew a killer YN.

  • @ThaBR33D

It's not any one rating. The DoG takes all rates. Naturally, most of the people will be ME rates, but I'm a GM in the DoG, and my unit has everyone including DC's, MK's, YN's, SK's, everything.

  • I've heard the Coast Guard isn't recruiting right now. They've sent out orders to the recruiters not to do anything. Too many people joining the military because of the recession =( Which is why I'm a Navy Corpsman

  • @scoobysdeathwish756 you are correct you can enlist in the reserve but who knows how much longer that will be open

  • @scoobysdeathwish756 where did u hear that? im planning on enlisting after my last semester in college next fall

  • @scoobysdeathwish756 luckyyy you...i wanted to enlist in the navy for corpsman, but no openings...

  • the uscg lets women do the same things as men no matter what training and or rateing. its why ill be joining when i turn 17 :D

  • @jasminels94 work with your local auxiliary. it helps you understand C.G. better and they may help you with your studying and physicals. Most are usually ex-military.

  • @jasminels94 really?!??!! maaaan i loving the USCG more & more...i wanted pararescue in the AF, but the job isnt offered to women...made me pissed, i wud soo kill for that job ahaha...

  • @EvilPotHeadAngel

Canadians have pararescue open to women. But it's not csar, just sar.

  • @jasminels94 So you already have a high school diploma at 16?

  • This doesn't look as bad as any of the training that goes on for BUD/S, PJ, CCT etc. etc.

  • @deltaecho1 it really isnt but this is just selection they hav classified sorta training after this but no where close to as bad as training mentioned but these D.O.G.s can be involved with seals

  • II. 9 On Urinating and Defecating-10th paragraph

It is not necessary to wipe one's anus with three stones or with three pieces of fabric: a single stone or single piece of fabric is enough. But if one wipes with a bone, or any sacred object, such as, for example, a paper having the name of Allah on it, one may not say his prayers while in this state. From The little green book, Sayings of Ayatollah Khomeini, Political, Philosophical, Social.

  • I am not in the Military yet, but I would like to go through some of these training programs to get better and see what my limits are. I know that these kind of things would kick the shit out of me, but it would make me stronger mentally and physically.

  • haha yea go DOG! train train train! cuz thats all your gonna do!

  • Now that you've clearly established yourself as someone who has no idea what he's talking about, I remind you of the saying: "If you don't have anything nice to say..."

For you future Coasties: The Guard has many opportunities and it is what you make it to be. Semper P.

  • did you watch this video? do you see any operational footage? or is it just training. Let me know if you can find a video of a DOG unit actually doing somthing.

  • Sir, I will not continue with you after this reply because you are set in your mind but I offer you this: The DOG is MANY different types of units and I promise you those units do their deployable mission in some form everyday. You will not find videos posted because we don't need glory vids to validate ourselves. Amatures train 'til they get it right, pros train 'til they can't get it wrong. Semper P.

  • If you want to see deployed coasties then google coast gaurd in vietnam.

  • HELL YEAH my grand father was in the Coast Guard during Vietnam yep he was in National Defense

  • @mhwolves thats awsome. My grandfather was in the Navy for 4 years. Are you planning to join the coast guard?

  • @MercedesCars454 oh hell yeah i plan on joining

  • How long is this training?

  • well in order to join DOG which what the video is about you have to become a Port Security Specialist that will take 8 weeks of training and the training for DOG will take 5-7 days

  • hey i want some information, is the rating deployale troops, im joining the coast gaurd soon, and i want as much inforation as i can get

  • wait is this coast guard spec ops?

  • does anyone know what sort of score i should get to join the coast guard? its really hard to get ahold of a recruiter they are very backed up.

  • 36 is the passing score.. its the highest along with the airforce.. so study budy

  • i got a 46 but i was with the army reserve i almost did it but my grandpa wanted me to hold it off then i kinda started looking at the coast guard and it looks like a fun job. thanks for the info.

  • I was kind of in the same situation that you were in. I was SO close to joining the marines, and i didn't. I went with the coast guard. (not saying anything against the marines, how could anyone?) HUH!

  • Yeah its a hard choice. how do you like the Coast Guard? i have a few friends in the Army and Marines and i havent hurd to much positive from them lol.

  • the dog assessment is a joke

  • why do you say this? to me it looked pretty intensive...

  • i'm going in the coast guard reserves as a bm, how can i get into this asap????!?!??

  • become active duty, apply for the school.

  • Comment removed

  • what does a bm do in the cg

  • drive the boats buddy

  • what do you mean?

  • are they considerd coast guard special forces and

  • this is what i would like to be doing in the CG. my question is how. what is the best rate to choose to be able to get into all of this.

  • Best to go BM or MK. just dont go aviation.

  • alright cool. i was thinkin BM or GM. kinda leaning more towards BM tho.

  • BM?

  • you don't know what BM means??

  • depending on when you join. the coast guard is coming out with a new rate called "ME" maritime law enforcement, which would be the ideal route.

  • The law enforcement rate is going to rule. I'm going in as MK. 6k bonus baby. Trying to get the crossrate over to ME when it comes out in my contract.

  • sounds like a good deal.

  • would that rate would be ideal for somone wanting to become a state trooper?

  • Most definitely. Most former coasties get out and do some sort of Law Enforcement. Any sort of law enforcement background would give you a step up. Along with a college degree (which you can obtain while in the coast guard for free using the MGI bill). Its funny you ask because i'm an active duty member of the coast guard and i'm looking to get out and become a state trooper in california. A lot of people say Law Enforcement is the future of the coast guard.

  • so would there be and benfits to going to a 2 year college first and getting a degree in criminal justice then going in to the law enforcement in the guard. What are you doing now in the coast guard

  • A degree is really only beneficial if you're trying to join and get into OCS "Officer Candidate School". Which you could complete in four years, then become an active member of the coast guard as an Officer. With a criminal justice background it could give you a real heads up in the law enforcement aspect of the coast guard, and could put you in some bad ass jobs as an officer. Like teaching vertical entry from our Helo's.

  • But if you're just looking to join the Coast Guard, you could attempt to get a guaranteed "A school" for our new rate "Maritime Law Enforcement". You would come out of A school a Third Class. And having a criminal justice degree could boost your chances of obtaining that guaranteed A school. The job looks pretty bad ass. You can also become a boarding officer in almost any rate. Right now I'm just doing Search and Rescue off the west coast at a Surf Station, and some light law enforcement.

  • Im thinking of just getting a 2 year degree then doing the maritime law enforcement. Is that rate out yet and if its not would the recruiter be able to tell me more about it. Im sorry to be asking so many questions but you are the only person to reply so im going to add you as a friend incase if i have some more questions. Also if im not going into the guard now it would be a good idea to still meet with a recruiter?

  • The rate is not officially out, but they are taking recruits and active members into their schools which will be starting within the next 2 months. And I'd really hope a recruiter could tell you more about the rate, if he can't on the spot, ask him to do some research on it for you. I'll also look more into it as well. And yes it would be a good idea to talk to a recruiter now even if you aren't planing on joining soon, because the waiting list can be up to a year just to join.

  • booahhh, i think the admiral said something bout the new rate coming in 2010. I dont think a criminal justice degree will mean anything beside helping you become an officer, you will still have to maritime law enforcement academy.

P.S take care of those 47' i hate those damn boats always breaking lol

  • isn't that what i said? lol.

yea 47's are a pain in the ass

  • hey they have the new RBM's now :)

  • California has to "state troopers" my friend. The CHP uses "officer"

  • Maybe so but you don't see many "CHP's" in oh, Louisiana, Maine or in Kuwait do you?

  • Huh?

  • we didn't have this stuff when I was in... then again, we still had steam powered ships then...

and I was a snipe in the cape may motorpool.

  • lol i cant believe this video I was at a msst teams for 7 years on the mle/fp also a diver. I hate to tell you all but you're not navy seals and whoever the guy that was yelling at people on the video needs to have a reality check.

  • it was probably for the camera

  • Hard Work but worth it !! Semper P Baby

  • Semper P Baby my son is a DOG Pac Taclett's

  • taclets rock your son is probably having a blast. semper p!!!

  • The two sides of the Coast Guard, those who take the job seriously, and those who HATE the serious professionals. Looks like the USCG is getting serious.

  • what does that mean?
