I'm on the last two-three episodes of season four, and so far I'm extremely happy with the show. I've loved it since I was eleven or twelve, and I was dreading that they might have the tragedy of Camelot. I was kinda upset about how it played out, but someone spoiled it for me, and I'm glad about how it turns out. But I'm still kinda ticked someone spoiled it.
@kashiku01 The only other show I know of that is about Arthurian Legend is Camelot which plays on Starz. Never seen it but I've heard good things and it has an impressive cast. Fourth season of Merlin I believe airs in the US in January. There was also a mini series on Sci Fi many years ago called Merlin which was pretty good - you can get it on dvd these days. But other than that if you're into Medieval Fantasy television you might want to check out Legend of the Seeker or Game of thrones.
is there any good shows other than this for the arthurian legend? (i watched this show finish already) or any good books? i can't really seem t find any...maybe im looking in all the wrong places but anyway nice video ^^ song really matches the video~ and i love the show too...
Also I want to send a general thank you to all the lovely comments and feedback. I can't always reply to comments due to time constraints/youtube's website deciding not to run in my ancient browser - but I do see them and I do appreciate your thoughts and kind words.
Just FYI guys, there was a comment here I just removed. It was hardly anything, however I'd like to keep the comments here related in someway to the video itself or at least BBC's Merlin and not a "My Arthurian legend show is better than your Arthurian legend show" free for all. There are other places for that.
Also @TheDarkstar010 Sorry for the lateness in replying to this. I honestly don't remember what the font was called. Maybe someone else here recognizes it.
@windvesper Oh I wasn't criticizing the show. I actually enjoy what's been done with the storyline. I was just explaining the reference to Freya being Lady of the Lake to that other user.
@TheDarkstar010 I honestly can't remember. I no longer have that font, but I can tell you that I probably got it from dafont.com if that helps you.
@tifa1904 While I appreciate what you're saying so far as the traditional mythology of the Arthurian legends goes, the footage from the video is taken from the BBC show Merlin, specifically the episode called 'Lady of the Lake'. The dark haired girl in the video was named Freya. Merlin, while a very entertaining and clever show, doesn't really adhere to the accepted Arthurian 'canon' .
@cullenbites part of the show's appeal is that it's a rather new take on a very old story. Freya actually does become the Lady of the Lake though so it fits the idea even if it's a different version of the same old story. I rather like the innovative way they refreshed a very old tale for new audiences, and as it's legend, and myth and not reality - there's no harm in altering it slightly since it was altered so many times already if you look into all the various versions of Aurthurian Legend.
Umm I don't know what you mean in your video description when you say Merlin/Freya? Who is Freya in the context of this video? The only Freya I know is the Norse Goddess.
The names for the Lady of the Lake before Morgan le Fey are basically variations of Viviane. ie- Nimue, Viviane, Elaine, Niniane, Nivian, Nyneve and other variations.
I actually started watching this show because of your video :) I looked it up on Netflix, I'd never heard of it (I live in the US) and I LOVE this show now!! I can't stop watching it thanks to you lol!! Thanks for posting this awesome vid!!
the show merlin isnt focusing on arthur though it was focusing on merlin and how he came to be so great and watching over arthur so of course the details about arthur that didnt involve merlin were kind of just tossed aside in matter of importance...
Merlin is a cool show except for the fact that it has almost nothing to do with the actual King Arther legends. Guinevere wasn't Aurthur's servant she was a princess!
absolutely GORGEOUS.i really admire how you made it fit the story so exactly (especially because Merlin really... doesn't. Ha.) seriously. wonderful job
Love it!

Merlin is one of the 3 shows I actually like aside from anime. Most shows I watch when I'm bored and have nothing to do.

Everytime I see Merlin... I can't help but think his hairstyle does not suit his face. Or his ears.
Good vid, though!
