  • that is amazing! I have the same MD car stereo system which is the top of the range model. up for sale if anyone is interested!

  • sweeeet

  • que buena onda man!!

  • Wowa some one did this i had this idea too years ago. i am still gona do it i got a Pioneer DEH-p8600mp im gona use for mine and a little workbench PSU .. i was thinking about it today and thought i would see if anyone eles did it on youtube and i was right .. By the Way bro You did a great Job with that ...

  • That is cool! Great mod :)

  • Very cool. I wish sony would make an MD player for PC's. Something that could copy over your MD's to MP3 would be great! I'd buy one in a heartbeat, just as long as it automatically added the track marks to the MP3's.

I have 350 MD's that I need to convert to MP3, and I need the least painless method for such a big project.

Anyways, great job on the hardware there. It looks like the car stereo was Made for your PC :)

  • thats a good idea!

  • beautifull! wow!

  • I WANT ONE!

  • @dalekmun2010 Ha! Well, you're going to have to make your own. Get out the Dremel and the Nibbler tool. :P

  • not a bad idea now you can control your music without having to pause a game

  • who wants to listen to radio when you are playing??? o.0??

  • @rakib567 when your working with photoshop and stuff that would be great

  • that nice keep up

  • kool i been wanting to this. but as for the audio card and the input aux seems kinda difficult. help?

  • @shyboy2cute Nothing too difficult. So long as your head unit has an AUX-IN on the back, you just run the audio card's cable back through an open slot in the PC case, and plug it into the back of the head unit. Then run your speaker wires from the back of the head unit, through the same slot in the back of the PC case and on to your speakers.

  • Awesome!

  • If only that was a full sized DIN.

  • @neotees No kidding! It would have made the project a lot simpler if I hadn't had to modify the case so much.

  • @f3rg what is that headunit model ?? I'ts cool bro ;)) I got something like that..but it's all out of the case..and much more powerful :))) what you have done is too cool ;)))

  • How much you want for the stereo?

  • Sorry, the whole case was sold a couple years ago.

  • thats incredible mate you got skills making that

  • Thanks, Adam!

  • I'm actually the one who bought this case from f3rg. The model of MD player is a Kenwood eXcelon KMD-X92. Sadly, I don't run any backup power to it as it's mostly used to show off now, so I simply hooked it into a molex connector. It is still alive and well, however.

  • Nice to see you're still keeping it alive. :]

  • Good work man! how'd you connected it? is it connected to the PSU?

  • its runs on 12 volts and all the fans inside you pl runs on 12 volts too so you take a free fan slot and conect up the power wires to de cd player

  • your PC noise like a vacuum cleaner

  • 3 fans in the top will do that (^_^)

  • if his PC sounds like a vacuum cleaner, then i must have a jet engine in mine somewhere.

  • hahaha :) really?

  • well done!

  • Why have I never tried this?

  • thats tight, nice job

  • whats the model plz

    thanks

  • I don't remember the model of the MD player anymore, but since they haven't made it in years, it's no longer possible to get, anyway. The Lian-Li case is a PC-75.

  • cool

  • Cool!!

  • thats fuckin baddass!

  • What a fantastic conversion and what a great idea

  • wow thats cooooooooool

  • I like Minidisc!!!

  • omg I want one for mine. I have an extra radio lying around. So you can listen to the radio? What about the antenna did you connect one?

  • No antenna, but I could have done that had I felt like it. Give it a shot; it's a great project.

  • dude I love you, i was thinking of doing this, i youtubed it and behold it is possible

  • thats sick nice job

  • where did you get a 14.4 volt coverter?

  • I have done something like that a while ago, But mine runs directly off of the PS, and has a hacked apart harness running to speakers..

  • Comment removed

  • It needed constant power, so it had it's own 14.4 volt power supply that sat outside the case. Otherwise, it wouldn't have been able to open and close once the PC's power was off. A relay was connected so when the PC's power supply turned on, the relay shut and allowed power to the unit's ignition wire. Yeah, the audiocard ran to the unit's AUX-IN, and then it's built-in amp powered some speakers.

  • That's awesome, keep up the great work.

  • thats really fucking awesome

  • Very cool indeed!

  • how did you huck that car cd player in to the case???

  • lol thats bad ass

  • That is the coolest Idea EVER!

  • Very Impressive!

  • It's an older in-dash MiniDisc player from about 1999, made by Kenwood. They had quite a few with that faceplate, so check out eBay and maybe you can find one. OR, just buy my old case from me (for cheap). :)

  • Whats the product name and where to buy??!

  • now that is cool lol

  • Spiffy. I'd like to see a HiMD recorder modified for computers.

  • thats crazy
