bullmastiffs r the greatest dogs... i have had won for 7 years. i love my bullmastiff he is so friendly and is the greatest family dog. they r very lazy and just like to chill with his family and owners. My bullmastiff doesn't like water so living on the beach isn't the greatest for him but he chills on the beach w/ me n my boys while we get high. They're also so fkn strong it is very hard to give my bullmastiff a bath but he is older now so doesn't try to get away anymore. lovemybullmastiff
@jkgb30 what the fuck did u not understand that i wrote ?? you're a fucking herb dude telling me to watch my english and grammar on youtube ahahaha you are a faggot. Still love my bullmastiff and always will . ill type however the fuck i want u bitch .
These are very good dogs! My neighbors have a Bullmastiff, and the other day, i had it playing with my female German shepherd. I tried to pet it, but my German shepherd is very jealous, so chased him away from me, so i went back on my deck, and then she let him come back, and then they played for a bit chasing each other and having fun! I guess it's her new BF now! lol. Anyway, great dogs, great disposition!
That Bullmastiff is pretty cool, nicely bred. Looks happy healthy and active. These dogs are not for the first time dog owner though. Any one thinking about getting one should go to shows etc speak to owners and learn as much as possible. Far to many end up in rescue centres because people do not realise what they are buying. These dogs like to follow their owner every where so worth baring that in mind too and dont like to be locked up all day either.
Also, one more thing to say about our bullmastiffs. They saved my mom's life! Someone was breaking into the house, and the bullmastiffs made short work of him. Truly amazing animals.
@eifersucht - my bullie was 160lbs. he was a gentle giant. but if you were a threat to the family he would definitely charge. never had him bite or even nip anyone. not that I think he could've only nipped anything if he tried.
I love my Shelby and she is without my first dog or even the first dog I loved but their is something about a bully that just takes over you soul!! Maybes it's me but that how I feel
I Looooved my bullmastiff! We named him Coke. He was white with a coke coloured eye patch hehe. He was soo funny, when i'd walk with him on a foot path, he'd walk right next to me & bump me off with his bum, then chase & tackle me then slobber me rolling round on the ground! My doggy passed because he was too over protective & didn't like any dogs near my family so he got into a fight with a dog that had pavo!! We were devistated - Even till this day! We loooved our Cokey, he was the BEST DOG!!
@murphnmix1 what a horrible story... you never socialized your "guard dog" with other dogs and he had to be killed because of your ignorance. It's not "funny" either when a dog dominates you by pushing you off path's.
@aurapet We socialized our dog, everyday with our neighbours dogs up & down our street OK! That dog that he got into a fight with.. Was an unfamiliar dog, he never saw in his life. HE WAS A STRAY DOG! & Yes it IS FUNYY, because my dog was playful, & only did that in our backyard while I went out & played with him! WHY do I have to explain myself to such an ignorant person such as yourself? We loved our dog & your nasty ass comment just ruined his memory! So thankYOU very much aurapet!!
@murphnmix1 sad to hear that. My dog past away for 1 month ago. My lovely dog Rufus. My dad and that bitch divorced and she took Rufus with her. Rufus was not feeling so good. He had cancer. She took Rufus too a veterinary and executed him. I never had a chance to say good bye and rest in peace.
@AbjectUsse Farout, thats so sad! How are you holding up now? You & I are in the same boat. I didn't get to say good-bye to my dog either. I live in Aus & i'm from Nz, But i'm glad he got to pass away in my parents arms otherwise he'd be terrified. The pound gave my father two choices either he shoots him or the pound puts him down & buries him. It tore my dad to pieces, he couldn't go through with it. So the pound took care of him & my mother said it was like seeing her mum pass all over again.
Every dog can become aggressive if raised badly, but i would not really say that BMs are amongst the most dominant. They're are actually quite calm. Of course being that strong, a mistake can be dangerous, so pay attention to his body language and make sure he know who is the boss and you'll be fine.
@AngelicaMariaMadonna i'm glad that you and your dog are working out together but the advice she's trying to give is general rule of thumb for almost any large breed that tends to be independent thinkers. too many bullies end up in shelters and ultimately euthanized because their owners didn't realize what they were getting into and were overwhelmed by the breed's special needs. there's always exceptions to every rule, of course, but in this case, it depends on the character of the owner.
@AngelicaMariaMadonna there are people who have owned ten dogs, and are terrible dog owners, and there's people who become great dog owners with their first dog. It's not about how many dogs you've owned, but rather how interested, caring and serious you are.
also like to add, if you get a BM, You must be able to control them on walks. they are very strong animals. This one in the video is not fully grown. My dog isn't aggressive, but other male and even some female dogs, have acted aggressive towards him. maybe it's his size, seeing him as a threat. Dogs will be dogs so make sure he's not trying to run around. A dog even jumped his fence to attack him. Thank God he respects my step son and laid down when when told to, as the owner grabbed their dog.
Here's how smart my BM is: the gate was open, as if pulled inward. We had heavy things in front of it so he couldn't push it out again. I took him outside walked over to the gate I looked him in the eyes and said "Show me what you did." he gave me puppy face. I said "I know you know what I'm saying." He walked up to the side, crunched down a little reached his paw in and around the grove of the wheel on the bottom of the fence and pulled it towards him, backing up until open.
@kellymmmbop He's my big ol handsome dog baby boy,lol that's just what comes out when I look at him. They're great dogs, REALLY smart, they seem to have these knowing eyes, Very affectionate but not the the point of being high maintenance. Very head strong, we realized that quickly, they need to know who's in charge. Although the first day when I took him for a walk he tricked me, by fallowing my every lead. A week later he wasn't shy and it was another story.Protective but hardly barks,
@butchersktnm ya mesmo nao tenhas duvidas *o* tenho um de 8 meses e é mesmo lindo. Muito brincalhão e dá se muito bem com todos.. Só que não me ouve la muito bem xD
I was walking my dogs the other day, when a b.m. suddenly came up to us. I thought it was cute but it charged my dingo and she freaked out. Then it focused on my jack russell. He didn't try to bite. I could tell it was young so it wouldn't take long to develop into a biter. I kindly advised the owner to learn to keep it under his control. He took it as a threat and again clarified to maintain control to prevent any accidents. My point is that research is of the utmost importance.
Uhm You didn't have a Bullmastiff then. Sounds like you had a English Mastiff. I find it hard to believe you had either one since you don't even know what they are. I also doubt it would jump up that high. They can jump but most of the time they would rather not.
140lbs males? Wow maybe if you let them be anorexic. I use to have a 230lb male bullmastiff and it could easily hop into my pickup and my truck has a 6 inch lift and has 35's on it.
@F350With460engine What are you talking about?? There is no such thing as a 230lb BULLmastiff...! Are you sure your dog was a BULLmastiff? Are you sure wasn't a mastiff? Are you absolutely sure you've ever had a dog?
@matteoprez Buddy I know my dogs, I had a 230lb bullmastiff male, mildly overfed but it was 230lbs who are you to judge what I say you don't have a fucking clue about what I do and or dont have.
Mate, i'm sorry but it wasn't a BM see American or UK Kennel Club breed standards- the breed is 100-120lbs if yours was 230lbs it wasn't a BM, or if it was it was morbidly obese. @taimana828 Please read my comment of an incident that happened just last week. Just because you might have had success with dogs, doesn't mean that everyone will have the same results. I hope the person who I had the incident with me heeded my advise. Not only does it have serious repercussions on the owner but the dog can also suffer consequences. Not to mention the person or animal who may suffer due to it's lack of training. Please give responsible advise.
@ 2:55 this idiot person just contradicted herself. . .they don't need exercise all day long, but need to be walked 2 to 3 times per day? A nice, vigorous walk?
What dog breed needs ALL day exercise, more less walks 3x per day?
this lady has no idea what shes saying. my bullmastiff is my first dog and he might be one of the most chillin dog around. he loves EVERYONE. and hes fuckin handsome as hell.
@goulddd11 i think what the lady means is that its needs an owner that knows how to handle this breed cause its not for beginner or for people who are getting their first dog ever
everything is about how u train ur dog...i have 2 3 month old bullmastiffs and they are awesome....ive already taught both of them to shake my hand on command and it took me 10 minutes to teach them
We have a 68kg bullmastiff, he's a handfull, lives inside sheds hair everywere very good guard, we spent lots of time training him, 2-3 walks a day thats rubbish, doesnt shed very much rubbish, dont own as your first dog rubbish, chopper is my third bullmastiff they are the most loving and loyal breed you'll meet, when we take him out people flock to pat him they love cuddles and are very loving great with kids very protective of our family, we wouldnt own another breed
@gangeschunk - It would depend on the individual dog. We have a Bullmastiff / British Bulldog cross and he is a perfect Therapy Pet. We regularly take him to a childrens home and they love him to bits. We also sometimes take him to a retirement home where they love him as well. Our dog is very big, but very chilled out, and has no agressive streak, so he makes a great therapy pet.
Which is better Bullmastiff or Mastiff cause some times mastiffs are kind but week in bite force about 300 but bullmastiff can bite 600 + bite force but a little domninant so i need help on which dog i need to buy i wanted to change it to german sheperd but there bite force is 195 - 199 so please help
yeah totally understand. we have a 3 month old bullmastiff and we were aware of their tendency to be stubborn and obsessed with food (and their size!) before we decided to get one. We are training her, and take her to puppy preschool and will be taking her to obedience classes. I guess this is just a surprising video as I feel that it is really not a lot of positive, but lots of negative information.
@bonifachi001 I find that people tend to discourage people about owning dogs this size because if you don't have good control of them, they can be a huge problem to own. There's a huge difference between having a stubborn, hard-to-control toy dog and a stubborn, hard-to-control bullmastiff!
@ObsessedWithSerpents My bully is smart and eager to please. One of the most trainable dogs I've ever owned. Only stubborn about getting off the couch!

yeah totally understand. we have a 3 month old bullmastiff and we were aware of their tendency to be stubborn and obsessed with food (and their size!) before we decided to get one. We are training her, and take her to puppy preschool and will be taking her to obedience classes. I guess this is just a surprising video as I feel that it is really not a lot of positive, but lots of negative information.

My bullmastiff is my best friend but is stubborn as hell even though trained unlike my german Shepard pup who is the opposite

@bonifachi001 I find that people tend to discourage people about owning dogs this size because if you don't have good control of them, they can be a huge problem to own. There's a huge difference between having a stubborn, hard-to-control toy dog and a stubborn, hard-to-control bullmastiff!

My Bully is very trainable too. Like all dogs, it has a lot more to do with YOU than the breed.

@MrPittsSox i totally agree. i have a 1 year old bullmastiff and she is very cooperative, not at all stubborn, and very eager to please....

@ObsessedWithSerpents My bully is smart and eager to please. One of the most trainable dogs I've ever owned. Only stubborn about getting off the couch!
